Async isn't evil. Kane himself said that in an interview with Wendigoon. Kane said that he didn't want to portray Async as explicitly evil, but as people who are purely there for science. They did what they had to do in the circumstances. Do you think they would have told his family that he died in an extradimensional complex that was discovered just at the time missing persons cases skyrocketed?

That's what I would call "protecting their own interests". Exposing this scandal to the public would mean some serious consequences to the sheer existence of A-sync as they would instantly lose trust of the investors. Also this could mean the government funding will be no more. Overall, it was pretty convenient for the people in charge to save the face of the institute and to write their employee off.
Addressing the interview part, while I think there's absolutely no reason to doubt what Kane said was true, why would he lie to us anyway, one thing I've learned by consuming fiction is things aren't usually what they look like at the first glance. I'm pretty sure there's more depth to Ivan Beck than just "let's do some science, for the greater good blah blah". There's more to it, some kind of ulterior motive that's entirely selfish. Not necessarily evil but that could be perceived as such from a certain perspective. Time will tell.

With the intricate web of details he's created, it would be counterproductive and idiotic to purposely spread misinformation like that to the community. And denying the few bits of information he has directly given us is equally foolish.
Maybe if someone IN his backrooms universe said it I'd agree with you. But this is Kane speaking directly to his viewers. If theres a question he doesnt want answered, he will straight up say "you'll find out at some point" or "that hasnt really been revealed yet."
Flat out lying goes against his format for addressing these details.
And arguing against that is no different than the backrooms wiki experts insisting that backrooms wiki lore applies to this series. The creator of the universe said it isnt, so it isnt.
If he did say red was blue, then canonically red is blue in his universe. Thats just how it works 🤣
@@YearOneThorn also, it sounds like you're going off the assumption they tortured this man. This "explanation" is flat out wrong though. The man found in Reunion is not the same guy who Async found. They behave differently and the one that returned first in the Report video didnt recognize anyone. Async sealed off this section of the backrooms before the man reappeared in "current" time, so he couldnt have run from Async back into this section of the Backrooms (at least its highly unlikely).
There was also at one point an image of him in his suit with some caption reading along the lines of "Now one becomes two."
Theyre different people.
The most evil Async has committed here is faking his death. Which could be to protect their own bottom line, but it can also very well be due to circumstances we don't know yet.
The version of the man who died was the anomalous one. Perhaps he presented an actual threat for some reason we don't know, so they had to kill him. The cover story is to still hide their operations, but it doesnt mean they just executed the man to protect their future profits.

I’ve always wondered how the backrooms started
In my theory, after Peter was found in Presentation, A-Sync left him in the Backrooms to get lost and die. He was missing for 3 months, they can't risk him suddenly resurrecting.
Edit: Okay, now I noticed that there are multiple flashlights in the end, so Peter did in fact run away and this is recorded by Marvin.

Nah. Kane already said that A-Sync isn’t evil. It makes more sense that they faked his death with the car crash in _recording14 after he went missing, and when he came back, they kept him in a room so he wouldn’t suddenly be alive. However, Peter, discovering he is “dead” escapes back into the backrooms, wanting to go back in time to get his life back. He thinks that A-Sync expeditions are patrols searching for him, which is why he wants to know how many people are in the backrooms when he holds Marv at gunpoint. His suit being black is because they would have removed his hazmat suit while he was kept in the building.

And you're right, when I'm rewatching the scene, it actually doesn't look like a hazmat suit, but like normal clothing.
I feel like Peter was experimented on. What little we saw while is human shaped it was kind of off to me. Either the backroom is making Peter different or the company themselves did it to him. Explaining that rare fear and how he knew everything even while stuck in the backroom. I can see the company using what they found in the backrooms into either bio weapons or enhancements. Also explains how Petter can survive without weapons and minimum edible food in the backroom.

I think its a stretch. Its unclear whether something is off with his looks or not, but if he is it could simply be exposure to the strange bacteria present in the backrooms. A sync thing is nit really bio weapons or human experementation.

They told him he can’t just come back to life after they told everyone he was dead, so they left him in the back rooms
He either was kicked back in the backrooms or just ran back in. I personally think he ran back in because in damage control the guy who was talking he said that he went away from Async
What if this isn't Peter but an entity thinking it's Peter? For one we know the Backrooms tends to repeat things when it generates rooms and hallways. It makes exact copies of fixtures and rooms so it might repeat people who get caught there. This might be a distorted copy of Peter explaining his suit being different, how he hasn't died by the bacteria, and how he's survived without food or water for so long.
I think for the sake of the story, it would be more interesting for this person to be Peter because it opens up a storyline for A Sync to be this massive villain more worse than what the backrooms entities could ever dream of being.
Time is somewhat irrelevant in the backrooms so you can't die of thirts and hunger.

Ok, wild theory here: what if the monster in pitfalls is what eventually happens to Peter?
We already know time isn't linear in there and we don't know how he has been surviving the time he has been in there (food and water being my main concerns) so what if the backrooms somehow change humans that stay there too long so they don't need food and water?

2. having a video where bacteria escapes Backrooms and attacks the Async employees in their facility! I so want to know if it can survive outside the Backrooms!

The timeline of his return and them sealing that sector off dont work, and there was an image of a async member in a suit with something like "One becomes two" written. 5/25/1990 (Reunion) - Peter finds Marvin's team, steals a shotgun from Mark and kills him and runs away.
I have a feeling that the Bacteria monsters will be revealed in the next episode as A-sync employees and maybe we might get an explanation on what the “green rooms” are. I have a feeling that these rooms (like the ones we saw in Backrooms found footage 1 and 2 and pitfalls) are the sources or the cores of the bacteria of the Backrooms. Maybe the girl from the Backrooms found footage 2 became an entity. Maybe she might have been the entity in the first ever video because the timeline matches up
Also there was a green room in the first video so maybe that’s where the entity came from and where the girl became an entity. But idk, that’s my theory

Async didn't know he traveled in time. At least not at first. All they know is he disappeared and showed up again. And I don't think they care that he did as much as one would assume. They created a freaking pocket dimension and I'm sure they have scientists with theories that say something about the dimensions within the backrooms being all janky and this includes time.
Asyncs position is a very unique one. They know how revolutionary this is but they also know that in order to make huge profits they need to be the only ones that has access to it. However they need to "tame" the backrooms and start making a ton of money on it before going public.
Because think of it, what is this product or service they're offering? Infinite cheap space that can be used for anything. So they can sell off residential/storage/commercial/industrial space for 10 cents per square milie and still make a massive profit. However if a competitor got access to the backrooms then they would be forced to keep their prices competitive. Because the space is infinite if one person has a monopoly they would be the richest person in the world. But if 2 people had access then it's potentially worthless. They can't charge more than normal "front room" land and the prices will be a race to the bottom. If a competitor gained access or multiple competitors then what's stopping people from just bypassing async all together?
They need to make huge profits before the public and scientific community finds out because it would put them in a far better position to protect their business. Take uber for example. It's a ridiculously simple concept. What's stopping others from copying them? You can try. I'm certain you can create the app and everything that goes along with it. It can even be functionally better. But you're probably not gonna win because Uber has a ton of money. In addition Ubers business model is/was sorta illegal in many cities. You can't just decide to give people rides for money. Cities specifically give this right to taxi companies. Pre-uber in my city to run a towncar business you had to buy a license from the city. Uber flew under the radar and argued that they weren't exactly a taxi or towncar company, kinda dragged things on long enough until they became a huge giant company that can bully around local governments.
This is what Async is trying to do. It might be possible for others to gain access to the backrooms. They need to figure it out first. Make it safe. Start making money on it first. When they go public they will need to be the 1 company that people think about when they think about the backrooms. Async may convince the government to ban others from creating an entrance because it's dangerous. They're trying to make sure they have a monopoly.
Note how they were signing contracts with the Department of Energy in the previous video. One thing the DOE needs is a place to store nuclear waste. Also there's a ton of security and secrecy surrounding certain DOE activities because it could pose a risk to national security. Async signing contracts with the DOE to store nuclear waste in the backrooms would be the perfect thing for them. It's a huge contract. Lots of money. No need to worry about the dangers in the backrooms like you would for residential units. And it would keep the backrooms secret from the public.
And why is this dude in the video an issue? Because he just freaking vanished. Who cares about time travel, he just vanished and that's a problem. No customer will want to enter the backrooms if this was a possibility. It's only happened once and could have been just a fluke they'll eventually figure out. If they want to do anything other than storing garbage and nuclear waste they can't have people vanishing. Just say he died and hope it doesn't happen again or they at least figure out how to prevent it. But because it was just 1 guy so far it doesn't take priority over other things like the squiggly monster throws people around like ragdolls.

My theory for the next episode, is that A sync betrays Marvin after he finds out what happened to Peter and dump him in the back rooms along with peters body which would eventually turn into a entity

I love how Kane actually is using intelectual stuff to explain the lore behind the backrooms and give us fun theories on what is what in it.
I remember seeing a gameplay from "The Complex" (free on Steam), there it had a person hiding in the corners and never comming after the player, gotta say the way this lore is evolving beyond meta is just incredible.

The Series characters are very based in reality, no one is a mustache twirling villain. However, Ivan seems DEAD SET on getting those contracts signed.
I think he wants to explore deeper into the backrooms because it might be the secret to another reality, or unlocking the secrets of this one.
The perfect example that comes to mind is C.E.R.N. they are playing with things they don't understand, they're playing with a Theory but jeopardizing our very own safety
in real life everyday. I think Kanes story is a rift on the real life machine, as strange things have been happing since it's first use.

damn this dude jumped to some wild speculation about Async being villains towards Peter. Just assumes Peter is entirely rational to justify his ridiculous assumptions about the company. 1, both Async could be an evil Umbrella-esque type organization and Peter could still be crazy, and 2 we haven't seen anything to suggest the company is that insidious. Just a few eps ago when Marv fell, his colleagues didn't abandon him. They probably didnt abandon Peter either but due to the nature of the backrooms, their efforts were futile.

i always wondere why kane choose the late 80s and 90s for this series.. hes 17 right?, so born in 2005.. and wonder if this would have taken place in the 70s, if he was born in 85
In the 1970s, during a mission to assist the United States with an hostile alien incident, DARPA, along with Async personnel, entered the Doctor's TARDIS, and removed the time and relative dimensions in space field generator, which gave the TARDIS it's vast interior. Async then back-engineered it, and created "the backrooms".
How the backrooms graded

Ivan Beck isn't evil, he covers up his death because how in the world in 3 months a person would survive without food and water. And also I have a theory about the found footage videos. I have a theory that they take place in other universes, but why? Well, the Backrooms' portal was opened in 1989 and the first found footage video was recorded in 1991 and the cameraman had no idea what everything was even 2 years after the number of disappearances started to grow. And the second found footage video was recorded 4 years after the first one and the cameraman had no idea what was happening. So I think that while in A-sync's universe takes place in 1989, the other universes takes place in 1991 (The end if the video was recorded in 1996 because if the time glitch like happened to Peter) and the other takes place in 1995. Even if the dates are different like the Backrooms' portal was opened on 10/17/1989, the first found footage video was recorded on 07/04/1991 and the second one was recorded on 08/19/1995.
Did anyone else notice that the hole Marvin fell into changed slightly?

@@itspoitt I don't think so. The camera zooms in to the hole at about 6'14 in the original upload from Kane Pixels. This zoom would indicate that Kane Pixels wants us to notice the change. The zoom also implies that the character who is filming also noticed the change and zoomed in to get a better look.

@@leociresi4292 that's my theory too but I have another one what if the peter is the bacteria but thats not it because we saw that he has a black thick body and the bacteria is skinny so in the video detected motion the cameras recorded a black and thick creature and that's peter watching Async to revenge for lieng about his death. And as I said about the fungus theory it is true because in the pit falls video we see a chair and a cartoon on the floor that peter slept on and we saw pairs of shoes so as I said the fungus got to him because he removed his hazmat suit and then he turned.
