Amy I have to tell you I loved this series. I thought I knew a little something about card making and such, come to find out I didn't have a clue. I didn't even know you had a stamp line!!Thanks to you and Jane for taking the time to do these video's, they helped me and I am sure will help whomever decides to check them out. TFS Hugs Denise
LvMyMedic Thank Denise, I try very hard not to seem like I'm pushing my stamp line on anyone. I love making them and showing you guys but I don't want to push them. Thanks for watching this series!
Great video. I do watercolor painting and I've seen UA-cam artists embellish their paintings by using stamps. But I didn't know how to use stamps or what I needed to get started. Thanks, this was helpful!
I have watched and learned something from all of the Basics Videos from you and Jane! You ladies are such good teachers! They will definitely be in my favorites List. Thanks so much!
Thanks Maymay, I really enjoyed this video about what type stamps to buy. I am a new crafter and this info really helped me understand more about all the different types of stamps are out there. Jo E.
really enjoying your videos wanted to get into stamping and couldn't find any beginner information your video was awesome I am addicted to your UA-cam videos now thanks so much
This was a great video on how to get started with stamping Amy. I think you covered everything beautifully. I hate to see these video's end, but I know you both will be continuing your awesome other video's. Thanks for doing this, I know it helped a lot of people including me.
I'm not a stamper per se - I'm a scrapbooker but I have been trying to incorporate more stamps into my layouts (even took an online class on how to do just that which gave me tons of ideas) So this was an excellent help in explaining the different types. I'm not a good stamper - yet - still have too light of impressions - but I supposed that comes with time. Thanks so much for your expertise...and sharing! Lynn
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for this fabulous series that you and Jane did! I learned a lot and had fun! It was very sweet of both of you to take time to teach us everything that you both have! I know for myself each of the videos helped me to grow in knowledge of the arts that I love so much! I can't begin to thank you and Jane enough! Have a wonderful evening. Hugs and many blessings... Bobbi Ann
I really enjoyed these series of lessons. I learned some things I didn't know and some more tips & tricks along the way. Both you and Jane did a great job! I looked forward to the lesson(s) each week. I even read through some of the comments and lean a few things there. Like:.... You have no sprays? Really? Girl, you "NEED" to get you some prays....especially with Christmas stuff...get all that shimmer's, glimmers, shines & sparkles... with those spays.... Oh My! LOL. (I have to say Lindy's is my fave- but I also make my own custom colors from dyes, paints, inks etc... Oh, and a lot of mica's...hehe. Thank you so much for taking your time to do all this for our crafty community of Ladies...& Gents. It was great! Blessings to you! ~~MarieMac~~
Marie Mac Thanks MarieMac, I am going to get some sprays just gotta go shopping. Surprisingly, I hate to shop so I have to wait till I HAVE to go and then I will get some. Even online shopping, I just don't enjoy it. I used to but as I get older I would rather be crafting...Thanks for watching!
Thankyou Amy for another awesome video, you and Jane have done a wonderful job with this series of basic's, really appreciate the effort you both have put into it xx
What a great series it was to follow. You did a wonderful job and even though I'm not a beginner, I still picked up new things and learned. Again a great tutorial. Thank you !! Hugs Patrizia
Oh good grief...what started me crafting was buying wood block stamps. I loved the way they looked in displays! Then I did what you did...bought an uncut red rubber set. Tried cutting, mounting, using them...horrible!!! Had No IDEA up until this video that they needed cushioning!!! Thank you! Think I'll pull them out again LOL thank you!!!
Sharie LaKind Try out the product called Easy Mount, I hear that it is easy to use and I linked a video from Amy R in the description of the video, maybe that will help. Thanks for watching!
I have enjoyed this series so much! Would you ever consider a similar series like Taking it to the next level? You both are terrific! Thanks for giving me inspiration.
Roxanne Wall We might, we have talked about it but for now we are gonna do some catch up before we start a new one. However, Jane is starting a more in depth mixed media set of videos, that will probably be awesome.
this was great. I love stamping too, only ever have owned stampin up wood blocks. Glad to know the difference of the two clear types. I have a clear set now to use. Thanks for sharing this one
always wondered about some of those stamps.... Well done with this whole series! Hate to see it come to an end. Have learned so much from you and Jane! thanks Amy xxoo
I have enjoyed this series so much and have learned so much! Your instructions are so clear that it makes it so easy for even us beginners. I made my very first card yesterday. I was very pleased with it considering it was the first one. And it was solely all your videos and your inspiration that made me even interested in paper crafts. My next project is a mini album. I'm so excited! Thank you Maymay! I promise I'm not a stalker, just a huge fan....lol. I think you are awesome!
Charlotte Taylor I am so glad to have you as part of our crafting family! I am so proud of you! To go from card making straight to mini album, big jump! I have total faith in you! Btw, I think your awesome too!
You are so sweet to do this for new people out there learning how to stamp. Very easy to learn from you and I just know this video has helped so many out :) Hugs!
I wish I'd had this video a long time ago. I was pressing real hard on all my stamps and all the clear stamps came out wonky. I do like the detail of the rubber stamps, but now that I know better how to use the clear ones, I'm back to stamping with them. Sooo many images not enough time! lol Thanks again. You are so helpful. God bless.
Marji Miller I am so glad this could help. It is sort of a feel thing, just practice and you will find the right pressure to apply. Over time you will even know which type of stamps need how much pressure. Thanks so much for watching!
Love the video. I'm a newbie to stamping and i always have a problem with ink bubbling on clear stamps the only thing that gives me a clear image is staz on. Is there a secret to keep this from happening? any suggestion is appreciated. tfs love the series!!!
Thanks for another great video in the series, Amy. I've been stamping for quite awhile & I honestly didn't know there was a difference between clear stamps! Can't wait to see your project tomorrow. :)
Thank you Amy. This was very helpful. I have some red rubber cling stamps that seem to lose their cling. It doesn't want to stick to my acrylic block. Any suggestions? They are fairly new stamps, and have never been used. I really appreciate you and Jane doing these tutorials....ya'll are gems! hugs. Claudene
mskaykrafts The first tip it is to be sure your cling area of the stamp is really clean. You can wipe them with baby wipes and that usually does the trick, just let them dry completely before you cling them. If not that, try some temporary adhesive, just stick it on the cling part and then put them on the block. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for another Great Video Thank you and Jane fir all the effort and dedication you both put in to help all of us I learn a lot and so grateful TFS A'nna
Awesome series. Thanks sp much for doing this. I was wondering which type of ink I should use for mixed media with lots of layers and wetness of mod podge. Thanks again Shannon
I love that solid block of red rubber stamps. It would make a great background all together or mask off. I don't know that I would cut it apart. Can't believe this series is almost over. Where have the weeks gone...dee
Hi Maymay, I know these are older video's, I'm new to card making and these series really helped me out. Thank You so much. But i could not find Jane's web site even with your links. I really would have liked to have seen those. I'm a bit confused on embossing with the powders and such. Is there another link i may find her at? Thank again and God Bless... Betty
Love your videos. I know you are trying to help new crafters. When you mention conditioning your stamps I know some companies say not to condition their stamps or they will be ruined. I also know there are different ways to condition . The Stamps of Life are one of the companies who say don't use the eraser technique to condition their stamps. I just thought I'd let you know in case you weren't familiar with this. Have a great day.
+Susie Draper I am familiar. Most companies worry about you using a file on their stamps. I condition mine by using them, just stamp them multiple times and they work better each time. I have my own line of clear stamps sold at www.maymaymadeit.com and that is how I condition mine, with use. You should always follow the manufacturer's directions on products though, different companies use different processes to create the products and they need different uses.
As a crafter who has only recently starred using stamps I have a question Maymay - are you meant to wash the stamps after use it let them dry before using them again? Really enjoyed this series ladies I thank you both for all your hard work putting this together :-D
gazgreeneyez Yes, you should clean them each time. Generally, you can use a baby wipe or wet wipe to clean away the left over ink. If you use Stazon ink, you may need to get the cleanser used specifically for that ink. I am really bad about not cleaning my stamps which is way many of them are black...
Amy I have to tell you I loved this series. I thought I knew a little something about card making and such, come to find out I didn't have a clue. Great tutorial-so easy to understand and very informative. You always deliver.
Excellent series of beggers. I am a begginer on card making ad stamping and your videos help me a lot.
Great video. I do watercolor painting and I've seen UA-cam artists embellish their paintings by using stamps. But I didn't know how to use stamps or what I needed to get started. Thanks, this was helpful!
I'm new to stamping and this video answers a lot of questions. Now I can purchase stamps knowing what to expect. Thank you so much!

Thank you, luv your videos.

Great video! Thanks so much for the information!!!
whats your opinion of the best black ink to use for a nice dark solid looking stamp?
***** I personally use Stazon and Momento, however, I really want to try india ink. Jane uses it and she really seems to like it.
As a crafter who has only recently starred using stamps I have a question Maymay - are you meant to wash the stamps after use it let them dry before using them again?

Another very helpful video! Thank you!! :)
how do you condition your stamps? Bonnie
Great job, girl. You know your stamps. Going to check out you line now! TFS...Bobbie
Bobbie Harrison Thanks Bobbie!
Now, Mayday...what would you use to color in any of those stamps?
Thanks, Maymay!
You may want to cut the big mat with each individual piece and use them as stamps
