7a looks outstanding to me vs the Pixel 8.
Very few owners do side-by-side comparisons and the Pixel 7a is an outstanding value at $399 (October Prime sale). There is no such thing as perfect and you pay a steep premium when purchasing the latest and greatest phone. With an efficient GaN 65 watt charger, My Pixel 7a charges very quickly simultaneously alongside my Beat Fit Pro headphones. Phones are depreciating assets and one is well served spending one's money wisely unless you get business write-offs.
Same here! Was going to go for huge deal off the 8pro but this is a huge upgrade from my 3xl.
I still use the 3xl because the ultra wide front cam is 97 fov, not 95.
Maybe up grade at pixel 10.
Love the 7a.
7a for $374 or 8 for $549?
I have to say I prefer the 7a in many pictures :D
But the 8 has a better ultra wide and of course the background blur
Pixel 8 does much better job at night. But in daylight there isn't much difference and for some reason I like 7A colours better (except ultra
wide).
camera upgrades seem very very minimal
No great difference between both cameras !

Both very good. But i must say i prefer thr 7a on most shots
Yes, the 7a had a slight edge with brighter shadow detail and colors having a bit more depth.
Outside video it's pretty close. Low light video looks a lot better on the 8.
no its not a lot better on 8. Just look at those frame drops on the 8

8 superior dynamic range when side by side, but it’s close
Very interesting comparison !!! Night videos and photos are better with the 8 pro but in day light conditions, to me, the 7a is close or sometime even better than the 8 pro.

I must have different eyes to those who have already commented! I was not expecting the 8 to be that much better. Clearly, for me, the better of the two. For whats its worth I pride myself in my eye sight and work as a decorator so I am used to diffentiating in tones, shades etc...In fact I'm looking for a great ultra wide to have with me to take pictures of my work. An 8 vs 8 Pro would be very interesting!! Thanks for posting Phone Arena.
There's a few things to address here.
First differentiating between what, in relation to what baseline? You are not there, comparing two photos to each other in terms of what it "should" look like is not possible, outside of comparing it to your imagination. So your eyesight is fairly meaningless.
Second, what do you mean "that much" better? One is a budget phone that is a generation older, and that costs less than half the price of the other. If you are suggesting that the 8 is beyond that level of different to be a surprise, maybe that eyesight isn't quite as good as you think?
7a is better

На мій погляд, у фото немає різниці, але у відео значно краще у pixel 8 (і денне, і нічне)
