Thanks Ken, great project for found wood. I have a nice piece of what I think is a type of cedar, I had to cut down from around the house, 4 inches long about 2 inch diameter. It'll be perfect for this.
Nice job Ken. Seams like whatever you put a knife to something great comes from it. And thanks for the Encouraging words on my whittles. God bless you my friend.
Good Sunday morning From Ohio. I've been an EDC knife guy of all types for years and recently have gotten back into slip joints when I found my old Northwoods wharncliffe in the garage a couple of months ago. Your channel has inspired my to try my hand at your cool and fun whittles (not sure if that's the right term, LOL). Keep it coming!
Glad you liked it! I have heard good things regarding Northwoods Knives, unfortunately I do not own one. I will have to keep my eyes open! Thank you! 👍✌
Thanks Ken, appreciate your video! I couldn't entirely understand the audio, and the transcript stated 'Jean', but was wondering if you were referring to Gene Messer!? I do enjoy his videos!
Another great video Ken. What did you do to finish the piece at the end of the video? I've been curious about how to preserve and finish the bark on these types of found-wood pieces. Thanks!
Thank you, much appreciated. I typically finish all my whittles (that stay indoors) with Howard Feed-N-Wax. It is not a permanent finish and will need periodic re-coating, but it really seems to "feed" the wood and create a nice glow without looking like plastic. I apply it to the bark as well.👍✌
Super Ken .. Nice project and get whittler ..very unique afternoon project for anyone ..Thank you for sharing
Thank you Gene - always appreciated my friend!👍✌

Thank you Brian. Sounds like you have a whittle to get to! 👍✌
Very nice, Ken! Love this idea and design. I can imagine doing one like this with maybe a Santa peeking out of a chimney. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you Stephen! Yes, the Santa/Chimney version is a nice whittle idea, I did one like that years ago. 👍✌
Great video,I will try that one ! Thx for sharing
Thank you. Yes, give it go! 👍✌

I love this…gonna try a basswood version and make the hat with a fuzzy ball on top to make him elf ish and christmassy. Base will be a chimney.
Great idea! I did one like that many year ago - I may have to revisit whittle. Thank you!👍✌
