Every time I put a movie in my bluray player. I get excited and I relax. Every movie helps me decompress from working all week. I get excited and I have fun ever time. Whether or not its action, horror, war, westerns or whatever. I cant help but to love my collection.

I'm glad you still liked dvds. I felt alone. I have 3k of them. Hard cases, and just nice. I started collecting DVDs since they came out. I paid top dollar for them. I'm buying 4ks when I can of the better old DVDs. I love Clown 🤡 movie and CHUD. Chemical Humanoid Underground Dweller. Awesome 😎
I hear you. My collection consists of mostly dvd’s, especially ones from way back. I have blues and 4k also but it gets expensive to upgrade everything
Man I have some great memories getting my first Sony standalone DVD player and scoring the Anchor Bay DVD's of Suspiria, Dawn of the Dead and Halloween at K-Mart. Great stuff. Still have my Anchor Bay Blu Ray's of those movies. I'll never get rid of them, even if I have Halloween and DotD on 4k.
Edit: I got that Evil Dead DVD there too! Loved it.

I have those Masters of Horror on DVD I didn't know they had Blu Ray release . Been so long.
Anchor Bay was one of the best labels that came out in the late 90s/early 2000s. Even though a few upgrades have been trickled out over the years, there’s still a bunch of Anchor Bay DVDs I still own due to the fact that some of the supplemental material has never carried over to the current Blu-rays. I still keep my copy of The Stuff around because the Larry Cohen commentary was never ported over to the Arrow Blu-ray. I still have the Blu-ray releases of Airheads, License to Drive and Freaked. Those go for a shit ton of money on the secondary market.

Anchor Bay was king back in the day! I own a handful of titles including the ultimate edition of The Evil Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Slugs to name a few. Would love to see a follow-up video talking about their VHS line-up as they had some pretty cool releases, like their Godzilla tapes.
One of the best Anchor Bay releases I own is the Neardark DVD. Love all the images on the fold out disc holder.
One of your greatest vids to date, CHH! When I was starting to get into horror movies as a kid and into my teenage years I always loved Anchor Bay, they put out some of the most badass horror flicks on DVD. Still love and collect em to this day, so killer that they used to put out lots of Italian stuff and Hammer flicks, etc. Loved the Circuit City and Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys shoutouts too, when the SciFi channel used to air PMvsDT my grandma and I would watch it and she totally loved it, such a bizzare and great sleazy flick.
I love Anchor Bay, i still pick up their dvds i find in the wild...Love the poster art cards that come with them, such cool artwork

Man there is power in those old releases and this video fucking rocks! I feel like a lone wolf hanging onto to so many horror DVDs. Anchor Bay holds a special place, The Ultimate version of EVIL DEAD, Day of the Dead, Creepshow 2, and Thinner immediately come to mind watching the intro. I also have the Halloween 2 Pumpkin Tattooed! Cheers!
I bought the Anchor Bay tins of Hellraiser, Heathers, and Repo Man back around 1999/2000. It was pretty cool since this is when DVD was really taking off. Hellraiser had some good making-of docs of both I&II. Repo Man came with a booklet and the soundtrack on CD. The tin’s top was designed like a 1980s era California license plate. Heathers came with a school ruler and a booklet stylized like a Westerburg High School yearbook. I still have them and have yet to upgrade to blu ray. I know Criterion put out a nice blu ray of Repo Man, but, man, you can’t beat the novelty of that tin!

You talking about those movie chapter index slips just reminded me of my Sin City DVD the chapter index slip had Jessica Alba on the slip with the cowboy chaps and hat with her smiling. I still own that DVD after 18 years it just reminded me of the time I bought it. Great video

I loved DVDs!! So much extras!! I still have a bunch today but I had so much more but I lost a lot in the flood 😢my childhood toy's movies video games but my VHS and vcr along with some rare titles and so many I can't replace on blu-ray because everything is OOP nowadays. I remembered getting a nice surround sound and my ps2 around the same time and I bought a ton of DVDs from circuit city and fye in the malls!! I remember grabbing some great blu-ray movies that I loved as a kid like Free willy Lucas License to Drive and more like those that are way too expensive nowadays!! I just grabbed Opera from the Ronnin films sale for like $5 if you bought 5 movie's so I'm excited to see it!! I've somehow missed it.

I have Dawn and Day of the Dead Anchor Bay release dvd’s. Also Watcher in the Woods and Halloween 4 and 5 combo pack. You’re right about the Halloween 25th dvd, it’s such a great release
My absolute favourite Anchor Bay release was the four disc Ultimate Edition of my favourite film of all time: George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Special props to their three disc edition of The Evil Dead as well.
I saw Clown by mistake years ago when it was first released. My tattoo artist always would put random horror movies on in his shop while tattooing me, thats also how I came across rubber. My favourite anchor bay release is 2003 Texas chainsaw massacre collectors edition that has all the evidence photos etc the packaging of that dvd is fantastic
I found a copy of cheerleader camp at a flea market for $1.00. It was sitting on some kind of rack by itself in a corner and almost didn't get it. Suprisingly the disc was mint and it even had the insert. I had to switch out the case with a different one because it was a little beat up and had $1.00 written on the plastic with a sharpie. After switching that I had a mint copy of that movie.
"Cheerleader Camp" needs a 4k release for sure...
There was also an Anchor Bay tin of Repo Man. It looked like a license plate and included the soundtrack.
I have the Halloween 4 and 5 tin and I remember going to the mailbox to get it.
I have Cheerleader Camp (amongst other releases), and although it states on reverse that it is "uncensored", is actually the cut R-rated version. Pity is hasn't been revived on blu ray release it's a great cult movie. When Anchor Bay's titles came out that was about the time I started collecting. Ahhh, the days were so awesome at the start of cult stuff started being released on dvd and beyond.
I was already a big movie collector when Anchor Bay DVDs were the big deal. They were the Scream Factory of the late 90s / early 2000s era.
I’m satisfied with Blu-ray. I only buy 4K when it’s the same price or cheaper than the Blu-ray version. I still enjoy watching movies on VHS and DVD. I hate recycle cases. Too flimsy
I love the 2 disc anchor bay manhunter & Halloween sets. Watch the extended cut for Halloween and the workprint of manhunt on the extra dvds to this day

I remember going to the local FYE when I was out dvd hunting finding some gems there for $5. I scored the producer cut of Halloween 6 for under $5 when it was oop. The good old days. I also keep all my anchor bay releases.
Answering your question about that Halloween blu-ray. It's overly bright, the day scenes are too warm and oversaturated, and the night scenes are missing a lot of the blues.
There are some great horror titles you reviewed that i also have in my collection like the H25 that i often take a moment
To appreciate that i own on dvd and know it's the way Halloween was meant to be seen, thou i have the Blu-ray too which
Has it's advantages i guess and the anchor bay release of Reanimator on dvd is another horror gem i am happy to own.

The green cased Reanimator disk was the previous Elite Entertainment set from like 2002. I bought that when it came out and still have it. I don’t believe it was on North American Blu Ray until 2017 with the Arrow release.
Also, the tins had poster cards at least my The Beyond tin does/ did

What about The Evil Dead ultimate edition? That was an Anchor Bay collection release that came out in 2007. It had 3 discs and came with a double sided poster.
I’ve got arrow, scream factory, synapse, blue underground, severin and vinegar syndrome all separate and together in my collection then the rest of the titles. For whatever reason anchor bay, magnet, a24 I don’t put together. Do you put all your anchor bay titles together or interspersed throughout your regular collection?
I never bought Cheerleader Camp because I'm thinking it's going to come to Blu-ray it's going to come to Blu-ray and I never got it hopefully one day it does
Tobe Hooper's Dance of the Dead may be the worst film I've ever seen, but the other episodes of Masters of Horror I've seen are solid.
Roger Ebert rated movie 1-4 stars. So a 4 star is a 5 star from him.
I probably only have bought a couple DVDs since Blu-ray came out because they look like shit on my 77-in OLED Sony almost unwatchable
