- 2 timers running because we are currently testing the load removing timer that will be for the leaderboards, so just gonna mark this with the RTA for now. death on the awful bridge and death on firth because my shell bugged out? idk what it was doing but i couldnt parry and it was hurting the boss for some reason. anyways lots of room for more save

This is insane, I knew you could sequence break with the level geometry, but the charge jump trick really makes this possible.

The devs are in the speedrunning discord avoiding patching out fun glitches like the charged attack launch and patching in things to make certain challenge runs possible, it’s only up from here
Congrats on the sub 1 hour. I tried my hand at speed running the game yesterday and got 4:36:27 or something like that. I’m also pretty sure I said no way people find huge skips within the first week. I was so very wrong lol.
yea we found a lot of skips right away, then did a lot of optimizing. IMO the devs did a wonderful job allowing this being so open

What a fun run. I knew the game had potential for speedrunning when I did my first little slash jump sequence break before the first Moon Snail Shell, but I had no idea it'd be such a high momentum and all around fun to watch game for this. Kudos on a hell of an entertaining and impressive run.

this is current patch as of when it was posted, i posted the strat in the disc if you wanna check it out. havent tested stuff today with new patch yet but i assume its the same
Having just tried stumbling about a Gun% run for fun and ending on about 2h46m (lots of experimentation and different routes to say the least lol), it turns out I've got a lot of tricks to learn yet!
One question: Is it skipping the Moon Cave boss that causes Magissa's castle to not transform to the Polluted state?
Yeah the castle change is reliant on the pearl being obtained

Just curious, does the weight of your shell affect your ability to parkour out of bounds and do the movement tech. Wondering because I’m going to attempt gun% soon and was worried it might present an issue.

I haven't found that to be the case. I had the same concerns.
The only real drawback on the gun is you can't roll with it
@elijahide9880 I've found no consistency issues between tricks that I've done with different shells. Nobody in the discord has brought up shell weight to be an issue for CALs, Geometry or the Clipping tricks that are used in this run

it should work on consoles too, its just a little precise, and make sure youre not too close to an edge
It works on Xbox W/ controller. Just can’t be near an edge like spice said.

I found if you do a finisher on a staggered pufferfish after the 2 temp platforms it teleports you to the perfect whorl
Do you play on Pc or on Console with the Controller and what are your graphic options?
PC as you see the cursor a few times. The game is best played at 60fps for more consistant Charged Attack Launches (CALs). Lower monitor res and v-sync

Do you happen to know why when I do the jump boost thingy it doesnt give me a full height jump and I instantly touch the ground again? I'm holding down the jump button and if I press too early I get the full jump but when I get it right it just puts me back on the ground and it messes a lot of jumps up lol
make sure youre not too close to an edge when doing it, other than that im not sure
Any thoughts on playing Grounded?
I'm not sure if its out of the way but the hammer skill point and the charm that buffs it makes this build do even more damage may lead to faster times.
It's kinda out of the way and charged attacks on their own with this build still do a fair amount of damage. The time to keep finding a new hammer and stuff can be kinda slow too

How u run like without the tennis ball
You can get the fast dash with any shell that allows you to Sprint while blocking as long as you get momentum from going down hill or by landing with a sprint block input after a fork dash
