We have used our walkie-talkies for years when we go to the mountains or at the lakes that don’t have service. We, too, hand one to our camping buddies and that way we can keep in touch. We were in the midst of a snow storm one year, our buddies were about 15-20 feet from us door to door. But with the snow coming down sideways(!) we couldn’t even open our doors. So our radios were indispensable! I’m glad you have started using these radios, it’s important to be able to communicate, especially in “no service” areas! Kudos from Wyoming
Thank you! I always just like to share the realities that I am counter along the way there are some beautiful views and scenic vista’s however I also show the real meat and potatoes behind the travels. My goal is to inspire others to get out there and see the world but also know that if you’re doing so in a van that it does come with some complications sometimes.
I follow another traveler in Canada who is using a walkie-talkie system between his van & his girlfriend's van they are traveling through Canada. He cut a hole in a seat belt cover to hold his walkie-talkie while he's driving.
I don’t know that I will use the headset simply because in some places lol’s are there you’re not supposed to have anything in your ears while driving and our main source of using this will be while driving. However I do like that they have included them just in case
Sorry for my lateness in watching your vidz. I was involved in hit and run while at the zebra crossing. Nothing serious but i suffer a sprain ankle. However after watching this, walkie-talkies are one of the few good investment item. Just create your very own code, just a few will do to simplify the conversation. The rest, just converse naturally like what you did in the video. Im so happy that you always got a few tricks and tips for all of us to share with. Loves Hayliee 😘😘👍👍👍
Really interested in your final review of these. I have 5 to 6 family members in a 20 mile radius of me, these may be a good backup to cell phones, especially for those who's phones are old and hardly hold a charge 😀
While driving down the road these have been great however I will say that if you have any tree coverage it does break down the signal and limit the mileage
sorry to say but you are out of luck you have a two mile range that's it the radio has a 1/2 watt transmiter that is why the short antenna I used c b radios at the lake thay worked fine know you are at 7 watts not 1/2 a watt
wow so cool those little walk talk been around long time they run on the fm Band i got older one too it what bad about those channel dont run on cb radio i hope yall have fun with it ty video Bunny also hows your dad mom doing on there Van?? just wounder
first of all you need to get a mobile radio with a antenna on the roof so if your leading the pack the person can hear you as the truck frame is blocking you 365 circle around the truck and use the hand held's out of the truck.
Thanks for the video. I have walkie talkies, but they take batteries. I like the idea of USB chargable. And also, my walkie pics up lots of static from my MH engine. I have to put it close to my body to stop the static. So I store it in my bra when driving.
OK but rember you need to be with in a 1/4 mile and in your van the signel will go through the window only NO signel to the sides or tear the truck frame will stop it the other thing is your radio put's out a 1/2 watt only KNOW if you bought a midland moble unit put the antenna on the roof then your signel will go in a 360 degree in all four derictions I know as I owen a 45 watt moble radio with a mag mount anteena I am W R X N 824 F C C call sine. ps I will grade your home work.
I completely understand that there are several places that do not allow handheld devices. I usually strap mine to my seatbelt therefore, I am not holding it in my hands themselves, and there is a headset that you can get with these that you can do wireless with I believe.
Also, the headset I believe can be piped into your vehicle, not just worn to cover your ears because I know that also is illegal in several states lol but it has a microphone that comes down close to your mouth
Question of the day: What is your favorite CB or wallow lingo?
I like the phrase '10-4'. It means affirmative! I used it all the time when I was a bus driver. Love your content, xoxo
Especially affective when helping your partner back up a trailer! 🥵
Fortunately I haven’t had to do that

They are so helpful and thus far have come in handy for some very important things
When your through talking you could say over and out. My late husband had a walky talkie in the early 80”s and that’s what they would say. Cute
We have been experimenting with some of the traditional lingo and it has been quite interesting lol
I sign off with my call signed to me by the F C C.
Just found your channel. Hands down one of the best channels on van life- the real deal and not the fake instagram version. Great content! 👍

Very cool!! It’s been super handy!!!
you could have velgroved it to the dash and got a mike
Why not buy a mobile radio with antenna on the roof that would be the smart way.
bolit my 45 watt to the dash run the antenna through the door
I would have gotten a mobile unit and put on the conciel and save the seat beilt
You guys are funny 🤣😂 enjoy !! 💕🐰
We are certainly loving these for the trip so far
Looks like a nice product. I love the headsets and the usb charging! "over"😃

A useful bit of kit to have for travel or parked up at an event 👍😊
So far really been enjoying these can’t wait to share a bit more of how they have come in handy
Those will be great for traveling with other people.
Already been coming in handy so much!!
as long as your not more then a mile apart and the van will kill half of the signel

I hope everyone of your friend's are less than a mile apart
IF the help is less then a mile away
Good thing to have. I remember when my mom used to have a cb radio and talked to truckers. Lol

These do have to be charged quite a bit but we also use them a lot
watch out for the R F bern from the antenna
did we really need to know that buy a mobile unit an mount it to the dash
and put the antenna on the roof.
💨💨👍👍👍

your radio transmits on a cercle like a plate one forth is leaving through the window
the rest hit the frame and don't come back.
I would get a midland mobile radio and put the antenna on the roof
then you are transmitting out side the truck.
Can’t use them where I live driving no hand held device

@@BunnyPlaysHere by a Midland mobile put the antenna on the roof
