- Shot this video a while back now, but haven't had time to edit it (it's so long D:). Anyway, hope you enjoy. It was fun, but I'll probably never do this again haha.
Part 2 will be me making a shadowbox and mounting it all the components in it.

wow I dont have this kind of patience
Just built a custom but i accidentally burned and melted a small area on the pin cardtridge reader. Im glad i found your video because i didnt know that you have to de-solder all those pins.
Very worthwhile video
Can't wait to try out your Gameboy games when it finish hehe
Helpful af, going to try it on my SP!
Raul Leon hah good luck!
What a madlad
Modders were too quick to ask could we do it,
They didn't think to ask should we do it.
Love it!
I don't even have a gameboy and just use my 3ds for games i ant to play, but I stay subbed for the great content as I like to tinker for fun and your content just speaks to me. I do really need to get a hot air/ reflow station :D
Thanks Jeremi! The 3DS is amazing and I love it too. The hot air station is pretty interesting! I think you can definitely get by without one, but it speeds things up.
@@esotericseanOh yeah I have my trusty Hakko station and I do lots of mobo and other pc part repairs on the side, but a reflow would be nice.
Keep up the interesting content!
Whats that flux do? I'm completely new to this, iv just seen your video where you backlight a gbc and it was awesome
Flux helps the solder flow, so if you have flux on a solder joint and apply heat it will make it a bit easier/cleaner to remove or attach components. Solder itself usually has some flux built in so when you melt the solder the flux melts along with it. But that flux is long gone from old components that have been soldered many years ago.
yeah LED when exposed to a light source will generate a small voltage
Yeah it was interesting learning about that!
Great video! Question, though, what was the Acetone supposed to do?
I wanted to try and dissolve the white silkscreen layer to reveal the copper traces below it, but it didn’t work. I’m actually kinda glad though cause I like how it looks now. :)
Omg I need help pliiizzz I need to find the name of that last component your pulled off the lil micro DC DC board (the big black round coil looking one).. I don't know much about electronics but I got a GBA where this kind of compound broke and I need to know what it is to replace it.. thanks for the video I hope you can help..
11:10 make a game like Pokemon except your character can punch
Heh, that would be fun. XD
That pretty much describes Spectrobes
You should cast it all in a block of clear resin
Hah, nice idea!
Yeah but with all the components like a explosion graphic on top
maybe you or someone can design something cool with the parts
58:16 , yes.
1:15:50 , 😵
1:11:25 volume wheel ...thank you
Are you using a heat gun? (i have no audio right now, so i can't hear what your saying.
Un-games your game boy
Why
"Part 2 will be me making a shadowbox and mounting it all the components in it."
Someone might want to watch this video in case they have a faulty part that needs replacing and want to see the best way to remove a part
@@ungratefulmango Actually that's a good idea! Maybe I should put timestamps in the description for each part.
