Yes, this album and Teaser and the Firecat, I played them to death along with James Taylor's Sweet Baby James and Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Good times in the 70's.
I very much believe that putting this positivity out into the Universe makes a difference. It can change the way individual listeners feel and that has a ripple effect.

I've been a Cat Stevens fan for many years! All of his songs are just amazing. The live version of this song it fantastic! Thanks for reacting to the song!
"Peace Train" always gives me goosebumps! His music has always ministered to me and not at all surprised he became a Holy man! Thanks to his children, he did return to performing. Harri I would love for you to review "Moon Shadow" if you haven't already. Cat never wrote a bad song IMPO. Thank you Harri, as always, you are on the money. We need a new Peace Train today!
Bought Tea For the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat back in the 70's, still enjoying both of them as much today. Full of beautiful songs like this one, Where Do the Children Play, Longer Boats, Father and Son, Rubylove, How Can I Tell You, Morning Has Broken. His 'deep cuts' as wirh many artists are better than the better known songs.
Harri--you need an update on Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam. He came back to recording music at the urging of his eldest son. Yusuf has since recorded new music, gone on tours, and played with contemporary artists varying from Sheryl Crow to Chris Cornell. He is *out* there. His UA-cam account is very active, especially with the world's events now. I strongly recommend you check out his song, "Roadsinger", an autobiographical song from the album of the same name. Peace. ☮️
Note: A year or 2 (not sure exactly) before he left his life as a star musician he spent months in a sanatorium ( hospital ). fighting for his life fighting TB . Half the patients didn't survive .... Changed his life goals. But now for quite a few years he is back performing his wonderful music
Saw him with The Walker Brothers and Hendrix in 67 at Bolton Odeon. In 72 I met him backstage theatre Royal London he was a superstar then but still spoke to me brilliant
This song brings back great memories of my teen hippie days! I absolutely wore out this album! What a great choice and reaction. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin 🌺✌️
I love Cat Steven's. I saw him in concert twice. In the second concert, he sang Peace Train before it was released. He only retired for a while. He still performs and has a UA-cam channel, too.
He is and has been doing "both". His name Is Yusuf Islam, and has put out several albums in the last ten years and tours regularly as Yusuf/Cat Stevens.
His catalogue of hits is enormous. And, his live concerts are so many to count. Please check out "Sad Lisa" which he performed live in Chile (VinaDelMar Feestival 2015). So emotional
Simply a fantastic soul. From early to mid 70's I don't think a day went by when I wasn't playing some of his music. I was inspired to eventually hitchhike to Nepal after hearing his rendition of "Kathmandu"
Have his three big albums from the early 70’s, love the music and his cover art🎶🎶🎶 Where do the Children Play and Sad Lisa are two of my favorites as well as the more popular songs he wrote🎶🎶🎶
First Cat Stevens album l bought was Buddha and the Chocolate Box which l still enjoy today, Oh Very Young is one of my favourite Cat songs. Another track though which never gets a mention is Sun/C79 a slightly more 'edgy' song which l really love. As with many artists his later albums became a little patchy in quality and l think he began to experiment a little with albums such as Numbers and Foreigner which l still enjoy but for me Tea and Teaser were written at the peak of his career.
Back when this came out in the very early 70’s things were no where near as awful as they are now. I just hope our country survives. I remember when this came out. I was 11.
We had this album, I can remember when purchasing, I was 15 years old and it was a huge hit, t he whole album, not only in the UK, but here in Germany too. When partying, we the guys wanted listen to Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin or Santana, but the girls wanted to hear Leonard Cohen and most of all Cat Stevens !!! long ago, really.
I loved this on as a child and still do today. I only wish that we all could have moved in the Peace Train direction over these last 52 years instead of the false-news internet hatred that we have to deal with. If you haven't checked out Wild World, Moonshadow, or Morning Has Broken, they are all awesome Cat Stevens' hits as well.
IMO, this is one of the greatest songs ever produced, one that is even more relevant now than when it was released; and yet, it seems like we are farther away from Cat's vision of peace than ever before. I hope that we wake up and let love guide the way forward. Our divisions are tearing the human race apart. ❤✌
Why can’t we all jump on the Peace Train and live in Bliss? Love you always, Cat. Thanks for sharing this, Harri. I haven’t heard it in a long time. Made me weep with memories of when I first heard this in the turmoil of the ‘70’s and the song’s passionate optimism.
Cat Stevens is still out there performing. Back in the late '60s my band recorded in Criteria Studios in North Miami and he was recording in the studio next to us.
Like many others here, Teaser and the Firecat, as well as Tea for the Tillerman, are two of my favorite albums. His voice always cut right through me, and the messages were so full of hope and soulfulness. Thanks to Imadrummin, and anything more from either of these two albums would be wonderful. Cat also wrote "The First Cut is the Deepest." There were several covers done, including Rod Stewart 10 years later in 1977. I think some 1967 Cat would be spectacular.
Those two albums you mentioned are indeed wonderful and are two of my favourite albums in my collection of vinyl largely from the wonderful 70's. He also Wrote Here Comes My Baby which was a big hit for The Tremeloes which l believe reached number 4 in UK charts.
Backing vocals are special too. All great songsters in their own right. Cat/Yusuf had a talent as singer/songwriter that was not fully explored, but what we we were able to enjoy left a lasting impression growing up. Morning has Broken is another "Boomer" song
He has many great songs, but I would like to suggest the song "Home" off his Numbers album. It is a beautiful song and the background singers sound like angels singing. I haven't seen any reactions to it and would love to hear your take on it Harri.
Growing up in some turbulent times in the 60's and 70's, I found this man's music to be very profound for the times. His lyrics and just the sound of his voice had a soothing effect. He always seemed to be a man of high moral character. I found it surprising and a little hard to understand some of his choices in life. I try to keep an open mind and consider all points of view. Though he changed his name, I still think he's one Cool Cat!
