I have a background in product development, and new products usually take 1-3 years to go from an idea to a launched product. I'd guess they came up with this back in 2020-2021 during the pandemic as a solution for teachers and people working from home, but especially for teachers and remote learning. Fast forward a few years... and it would have been a huge product had they been able to predict the pandemic a few years before it happened. Instead, the pandemic is over and their marketers probably thought... "sooo..... who are we gonna sell this to now? ...youtubers?"
That sounds extremely plausible, I'd bet you're right on the money. I didn't even think about online classroom use, that would explain alot about the specs too. Thank you!
I have one, and for a business IT professional I beleive this is a great device where I dont have to piece together a kit to do what I need to have my many conference calls. I'm not a UA-camr, and if I were most likely I wouldn't be using a phone, or a basic webcam to produce a show. Most quality channels are using thousands of dollars worth of gear to have multiple angles, switching, audio, etc...... So, although I agree this device may not be ideal as yoir only camera, it's definately a great option for certain shots. But, we're all entitled to our perspective. 🤷♂️
I originally thought the same thing, except the actual camera is just one of their already available Logi Stream Cams, which is 1080p and costs $130 by itself, and at $300 - 400 for the version with the stand, I'd just use an adjustable mic arm with a nicer webcam/ my phone. Decent concept, weirdly lazy execution 🤷
@@GeezyStreams yeah, when I found out about those specs, I went out and purchased a $17.00 camera boom from Amazon, so I can mount my old iPhone to use as a dedicated video camera with auto focus. Total missed opportunity for Logitech… it boggles the mind how corporations can botch a good concept so terribly.
Thanks for your thoughts on this! I was also thinking of building an army for myself and connecting to Webcam. But buying a mic arm is a really good idea. Thanks a lot!
Actually it could be something what I could use with the content im creating (if the image quality is good and it's got like super fast autofocus) but $399? lol no way. I prefer to spend twice that on decent 4k camcorder.

So glad I found your video. I never considered using a microphone boom arm. It will be perfect for my needs!
Glad to have helped!
If it was £150 i'd use it. Not really for youtube but for teardown documentaion and repair logging. However anything over £200 is too expensive
This has the potential to be good for miniature painting tutorials, provided it has auto-tracking and panning, and 4K 60fps video at the LEAST.
