Finally finishing up my Dodge Stealth RT/TT build after years. I have made body panels, went through the entire drive-train, interior, motor. Handmade led infinity tail lights, etc. And did a ton of mods and swaps. I can't wait to bring it to the strip.

Expensive maintenance. Same thing happened with the Z32 Twin Turbo. That's probably why prices for those cars haven't gone stratospheric compared to the likes of FD's, Mk.4 Supras and 90's Skylines

I still own a 1992 Dodge Stealth RT , pack a v6 24DOHC 220 HP and strangely, contrary to it's cousin, is very reliable. Does not have the VR-4, turbos and the wheels gimmicks but it's not a money pit either, and it is probably why. The stories I lived with it, a true babe magnet in an era when car meetings was a thing. Today, my main car is a Cadillac ATS awd with 2 kids seat in the back. It would probably would eat my stealth any given day in a 0-100, but strangely I find myself often driving my old black beauty on Sundays. The car is old, a relic like me, can't push it anymore, but it is very much alive and heads still turn to look at it. If you have nostalgia of the 90s or fascinated by that era, I'd say it is very worth it.

In February of 1992 I was in 11th grade and my mother helped my purchase a new 92 Mitsubishi 3000GT vr4 (same car as this) (no my mom didn’t buy me the car I made every single payment). Anyway the car had a few hiccups that were covered by the warranty. The problem I had was actually the dealership service because when I hit 60k miles back in 2010 I had the 60K service done at the dealership in Brooklyn Ny and because they placed a floor jack right underneath my oil pan, my engine spun the #6 connecting rod bearing. I had to bring a lawsuit to Mitsubishi because they ruined my engine because the oil pickup was completely restricted by the huge dent they put in my oil pan. Anyway I took their lame ass settlement check and added an additional 7grannd out of my pocket and had Ray Pampena build me a bulletproof engine out if my engine with 19T turbos. As of right now I still own this car and I haven’t had a single problem with the car.
My message to anyone watching this CHECK THE OIL PAN IF YOURE BUYING A STEALTH OR 3000GT because most likely anyone who did the 60K maintenance didn’t use an engine hoist to raise the engine like the manual says, they used a floor jack. THIS DENT IS A TICKING TIMEBOMB FOR YOUR ENGINE BECAUSE ITS NOT GETTING ENOUGH OIL. The car will function fine under normal driving conditions. As soon as you go into boost or put a load on the engine, it’s gunna wipe out your engine bearings. You can thank me later lol.

The 94-96 body sucked, it lost all the style. However they upgraded the engine, and transmission. I had a 91 stealth turbo, and it was the biggest money pit I've ever owned. I didn't know alot about them at the time, and what I know now would lead me to buy a scrapper and restore it with a built engine and transmission. The 91-93 in stealth and 3000gt had a crappy cast iron crank, with a extremely weak 18 spline output shaft transmission. In late 93 they switched to a forged steel crank called a 4 bolt engine, from the old 2 bolt, and it was much better. They also went to a 24 spline output shaft which was hardened steel, and a larger diameter. I broke my 18 spline transmission twice taking off! So if I did it again, I'd built a 4 bolt engine, with a 6spd 24 spline transmission, and upgrade all the crap that goes bad such as the ecu, ecs, etc. It was a awesome car regardless, and shined up all blacked out, it received more head turns than any car I've ever own. Sadly it was mostly a driveway ornament lol.

have a 1994 GTO, i dont regret my purchase what so ever, they is so much fucking misinformation about them, most people know nothing about these cars
    heres some info on them
-these engines ARE reliable, despite what everyone says, they are crazy good in fact, some have pushed it to 1000hp+ (not stock internals obv)
-DONT SKIP OUT ON THE 60K/120K WATER PUMP SERVICE
its what kills these moters, when a belt snaps, the engine blows. So if you are buying one, make sure its been done
-the syncros in the transmission are crappy, its common for them to get worn out around second and third gear
-"its heavy" it was faster around the track than most of its competitors while being heavier, also this is a gt car, and is butter smooth on the highway going 250kmh, because of the weight, its a stable car, theres barely any body roll, put on some stiffer sway bars, bam
-this car is literaly impossible to spin the tires, its a grip and torque monster and i love slingshotting myself out of corners
-electricals are getting really old and are turning bad, they might have some issues in the accesories as most old cars
-they are really not that bad to repair on your own, if you have any mechanical skills, you can do your repair yourself, itll cost much less, it just takes time because yes, the engine bay is crammed
if you still think they are too heavy for you, swap in a 4g63t, super easy and well documented swap that turns this car into a drag monster
make sure they are well maintained, thats all, if not it could have problems
if you have any question about these cars, ill try to anwser as much as i can, i want people to know more about these cars and realise their crazy potential

Going for 220hp DOHC na V6 takes sway pretty much all the problems. Transmission will not fail, or wear out remotely as fast, now electronicly conteopled suspension, less weight, no turboes. Aging capacitors in climate cotnrols , gauge cluster and ecu still apply as to any older car.

I have a 1995 Dodge Stealth RT Twin Turbo. I love the car and have owned it for the last 10 yrs. Its a rare color combo. 1 of 14 Dark Blue Pearl with a Charcoal interior. The car has been great. A few issues but nothing that couldnt be fix. Its been reliable. The only thing is they dont like to sit for very long. They are best when driven. They are a very special car and were the most technologically advanced cars on the road when they were released in 1991. All wheel steering, All Wheel Drive and adjustable exhaust and suspension. No one else had that. If taken care of and maintainance done they are great and reliable cars with the potential to make tons of horsepower. Look up Ray Pampena on UA-cam. He had an 1100 HP VR4. The thing was insane. Oh and the Twin Turbos will do 175 -180mph with little to no mods.

Tough to give this a thumbs up... The bad rep is really undeserved. All sorts of cars from all brands had their particular issues. And if you take care of a Stealth/3000 like the $50k sportscar that it is, itll be just fine. Do the 60/120k mslaintenance. Or youll regret it. They arent Hondas... The ECU failure is a thing. It WILL happen. But if youre half skilled with a soldering iron, you can fix it yourself for about $10.
