Its much better to just put the Retropie in the NGX dock and then you can just plug the controllers into the dock. Cool build through. FYI, you can mod the NGX sticks with Semitsu 24mm buttons and an OEM stick and gate quite easily and it totally changes the stick. Its great.
Combining a joystick like that with that monitor, both plugged into a small USB hub so only one power cord still... You could totally put both easily into a bar top arcade setup for a true "authentic" experience. There's many free plans online to download for measurements, some wood from local home depot and a few weekends of fun work.... Some cool decals... And bam!

Regarding metal slug on the pi 3, i tend to get some massive frame drops whjen big explosions happen fx. in metal slug 1 at the first mission boss. any idea as to why that might be ?

That theme looks amazing as expected from anything from Ruckage :) Do you know if there is a Japanese themed version which follows the Japanese colours instead of the big red?
Can you please test shock troopers 2 for me? As shock troopers 2 runs like crap on my retropie with raspberry pi 3. Its choppy and stutters. Dont need a video. Just a reply to see if im not the only one! Cheers!! Great stuff as always!! :)
I actually prefer black on the sides. It makes the image appear bigger... Less noise for the eyes... And less distraction. Def looks cool but no bezels makes it more emmersive for me specially if I play in the dark. :)

I am running Lakka and sadly I never manage to get Neo Geo games, the game I want to try the most is Rage of the dragons, a great fighting game made by Evoga, a team of Mexicans so close to SNK that you may say is a division of SNK, KOF's Angel was the result of a bet between SNK and Evoga

that's all wrong, zero cooling on that your pi will overheat for sure. you must guarantee some kid of heat sink and coolers! that emulation, that two shits on the left and right, are you kidding me???
