    I know that the Habs squandered their 3rd overall pick with KK, but I love the fact that Carolina offer sheeted him and chirped the Habs on Twitter just to have this blow up for them.

    Rick Tocchet had the midas touch this year with our lineup. However, his biggest mistake may have been putting Mikheyev on the top line for that Game 7. The dude was a black hole of offense. Not sure why his game regressed so badly, but he made a struggling Elias Pettersson look like prime Connor McDavid. 😂

    • @sucraf1
      @sucraf1 25 днів тому

      Not the whole lineup. lol. Some guys just sucked like Mikheyev, Petey, Kuz and others. Also why keep and keep playing Mikheyev when he was just as bad as Kuz. Maybe better defensively but he was on the 2nd line for offensive.

    Mikheyev has a 12 team no-trade list. This leaves twenty different options for the Canucks to move Mikheyev rather than buying out his contract. Lego, I think what you're hinting at is a trade between the Hurricanes and the Canucks considering their respective contracts are very similar in price. Kotkaniemi doesn't have a no-trade clause until the '26-'27 season when he submits a ten team no-trade list. I'd say make a move for a quick reclamation project and if he doesn't pan out, dump him at the deadline.

    Definitely need to re-sign Big Z! Would like Joshua back as well but if he asks too much then let him walk. I have a feeling Lindholm's going to test the free agent market.

    Canucks already have OEL on their dead cap space ...which they should have kept him. Look at how well he is doing on the Panthers.

    Mikheyev seems like a nice guy but I get legit furious when he touches the puck in the offensive zone.

  • @Tubtim7369
    @Tubtim7369 25 днів тому +1

    Need a better wingers for Petterson. Really frustrated to see Mikheyev missed the net in 1st period in Game 7. Otherwise, the entire game dynamic will completely change. This guy just don't know how to put puck into the net. He has the speed but if he doesn't know how know how to score, he is nothing. Drags down the Petterson line. Also, Tocchet is stubborn enough to put him with Petterson for so many games back date to the regular season
    Anyone knows if Carolina in his no-trade clause?

  • @thunderhammerx2966

    Kotkaniemi can bounce back; the intangibles are still there, things like passing accuracy (88% success on high danger passes) and faceoffs (55% won in 11 playoff games) zone stats and forechecking. He's just had some hard luck getting the puck in the net; which is all some folks seem to be able to see. He did have a couple of decent shots in the Rangers series, but he got Shesterkined. The advanced stats say there's still hope for him and would like to see him stay another year to try for a rebound.

    • @BaconNationChannel
      @BaconNationChannel 25 днів тому

      Agree, he's still an NHL player in the end. He will need a pay cut on the next contract and will have to understand that he is a bottom 6 guy.

    Player swap as part of the Necas-Hronek deal, change of scenery could do both players well... Kotkaneimi could really do well with some RT structure. Buy out the following season if either player fails.

    I could see Dubas or Lamoriello trading for him, simply to bring at least SOME speed to their aging rosters.

    Mikheyev played 2:40 per game less than any other year.

    Production of points as a metric for defining decline is useless unless you include ice time and zone usage….
