Spyro's Adventure is the best in most respects and the best package. Giants gets away with a lot of trash, combat has a lot more flaws, and less variety, tons of pacing problems, a lot of meh-bad levels etc., and the story is just repetitive. Puzzles get in the way of playing the Skylanders and just aren't very fun, they don't feel as creative as SA's or some others', like you know the solution before you start them. Feedback loop is a lot worse than the first game, quests are grindy and even Heroics they added feel grindier (the whole game just feels grindier). And as a whole you can tell very, very, very clearly it's a yearly sequel, with a lot of bad optimisation and glitches, and heavy asset reusal. I'm sorry I still think it's a great game but just think Giants is one of the weaker ones. I need to replay the later ones more but I definitely prefer SA, SF, and probably SI. I'm not sure about SC or TT. It'd be a lot to unpack, but SG ain't the best, hell naw.

Nice to see a person shedding light on Skylanders, I really liked it too as it gave me years of happiness and joy. Just a few things I want to comment about in this video. • I personally liked Trap Team and Superchargers. I get that they aren't the most popular games in the franchise but they both had great music, fun gameplay (mostly) and some of my favorite Skylanders came out in those games. • I may be a minority in this position but I never got tired of creating characters in Skylanders Imaginators and I think each battle class is distinct. • OK, this might be nitpicky but I think the Pop Fizz alcohol comment was a bit much.

My issue with superchargers was that while the idea was great, it seemed like (especially at the beginning of the game) the game tried to shove the vehicle segments down your throat. Like, I was having fun until boom, shit controlling vehicle section. What I liked before was that as long an you didn't die you could play as the same character the whole time and if you chose to you could switch to a different element to be stronger. In superchargers though, you have to use these annoying vehicles that legitimately aren't fun to use. And to top it all off pretty much the entirety of the final boss fight forced you to use (you guessed it) a shit controlling vehicle.

I was around 7 years old when i first played Skylanders giants in 2012. I remember playing it with my brother and even my sister who this day still dislikes gaming, Skylanders was the only game she liked. It was so much fun. I also remember playing giants with my bestfriend (we are still bestfriends 8 years later) and to this day we still talk about it for example the drill x mega mix boss, so recently we started playing Skylanders again and damn.... the nostalgia we felt when playing it was on another level. I felt like i was 7 years old once again. I will always remember those memories and i will always love Skylanders
Skylanders has one of the best soundtracks and one of the most interesting characters in video game history. Some of my favorite scores are Junkyard Isles and Crystal Eye Castle. Characters can also be interesting because literally, anyone looks different and can be controlled by anyone. You are the god. And I love it.
Trap team is what most likely killed the series parents and gamers alike did not enjoy being nickel and dimed by the traps. Folks were more than happy to buy the Skylanders BUT the traps if you had to buy WAY too many and we're not visually appealing like the toys. They got too greedy and people saw right through it
I really like swap force because it was cool and different. My favorite is super chargers because driving was cool, the music was fantastic, it replayed elements from old games like that giant fricking chicken and there was a real sense of urgency. Also it was HD and you could play as a tiny car in that one bug level.
Bro this is my childhood, I remember playing giants with my friend and then my brothers friend giving me all his old skylanders. I was so happy because the next day my mother bought me and my older brother trap team.
I played giants at my friends house, Then got swap force on 3ds but never got past a part, then did trap force and somehow beta the game, not any extra bits because I only had like three characters and K also ended up somehow getting far in all the other saves you could have, but when I wanted to replay the game I was already too far and couldn’t reset. Heard about the race version and forgot about this series. Good times.
Man hearing that music from Spyros Adventure made me so damn nostalgic. Also talking about the Arkeyans how could you not mention Chop-Chop, an actual fooking undead Arkeyan? Also, facts, Swap Force is the best game.
Swap force was my first introduction to the series. I was pretty young back then too. I got every game since it for Xbox 360. I have always wanted Activision to make a new skylanders since it's been years. It was an amazing part of my early childhood. Let's hope Activision still realizes the series still has fans.
I love swap force, other than Giants, it’s my favorite. I doubt that the series will go back to its roots, but it did have nice secondary material, with a tv show and 2(?) mobile games. Also congrats you are my first 100th commenter
One of my favorite elements of Skylanders was the gameplay loop. A beat-em-up platformer where as the levels get more difficult, you power up your character through exp and give them diverse and powerful movesets with money collected throughout the stages. That, on top of secret areas & side passages that contained tons of bonus content for completionists, makes me feel like it was more than just the figurines that got me hooked as a kid. I really hope and indie game or something revisits this gameplay concept, just without all the real world purchases. Also thinking about it, this series is probably the biggest thing that got me into character design.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Gather around, gather around. Kick your feet up and grab some popcorn and get ready to jump up with joy for another skylanders game from toys for bob. More information will be released when I have it, but until then buy your tickets NIW for the show in the future.
Depends on whether or not you’d be really invested in the Imaginators and senseis and shiz. I personally wouldn’t, because The first 4 did everything better IMO, but I could see where the charm would be in it
Ya I think you should it has a pretty good story and it’s really cool that you can make and play your own skylanders also you can get figures of some of the best villains in trap team
You didn’t mention baby skylanders like my boy mini-Rex, or the alternate form releases (which I have like all of) Or eon’s elite, pay to win easy mode
This game was my childhood since I was 7. I love this game series and I still love it and play it today. I’m sad stores stopped selling skylanders characters, I want to collect more characters to add to my large collection 😭😢
I put so much time into all of my Skylanders from Spyro’s Adventure and did a lot to complete that game. Spyro’s Adventure will always be my favorite, mostly due to nostalgia, but the same goes for Giants. I love them both, my favorite games. I loved the single player arena battles Giants introduced. It all kinda slipped from me after Swap Force, it was hard to keep up honestly. My favorite games of all time though. Loved them so so much, and they really had an important part in my life.
Dude I remember the first three games: Skylanders spyro's adventure, giants and swap force. They were AMAZING! After that they jumped the shark and just tried to capitalize off the first three games success. It was so sad watching this franchise just die off
I remember me and my brother spending countless hours on Skylanders, completing the game over and over, constantly getting stuck on the hydra. I absolutely dreaded it, no matter how many times we played it. Eventually the disc broke, and we got Swap Force, and soon enough our disc reader broke on our 360. Its extremely rare to get any game or movie working in it anymore, so when we can, it's exhilarating to relive the past.
The one word that comes to mind is 'sequelitis'. The only thing they probably didn't do is the horror movie sequel gimmick of having the next installment being set in space or 'da hood'.
3:46 There are actually type matchups in Skylanders, though it's linear unlike Pokemon. The type matchups go like this iirc: Air > Earth > Tech > Magic > Undead > Life > Water > Fire > Air Each Skyander does bonus damage against enemies of the type they are strong against based on their elemental power.
I used to love skylanders, until i just stopped playing during imaginators and then had to move and don't know where all the figures are. But now i found the majority of them and want to go back for a full playthrough!
I used to play giants with my cousin back in 2012 and we loved the game. I remember being excited for swap force. And then I got sick in 2013 and played swap force all day long until I finished it with the started pack I got. Then I got trap team and forgot to finish it because I didn't like it. But skylanders will always be in my heart.
banditle 64, you do realise that there are no more mainstream skylanders games being released, the netflix show has been cancelled, and most of the mobile games have been removed from app stores, save for ring of heroes. so, the skylanders franchise has been denying, you're just in denial.
I think Superchargers is extremly underrated. For me it has the greatest gameplay and level design out of all games in the series, I don't mind the vehicle levels, duh I enjoy them as heck, also excluding the very first level the platforming and vehicle sections are balanced pretty well. The story is pretty deep and dark for a Skylanders game, Kaos and Glumshanks gets so much character development, supporting characters have great relationships and are enjoyable to watch. Now about money stuff: Trap Team and Imaginators not only are making your figures from previous games useless beacuse they cannot open Traptanium and Sensei Gates, but if you want to see everything those games has to offer you need to spend insane amounts of money on all Trap Masters and Traps or Senseis and Imaginite Crystals from each 10 elements. Where in Superchargers you need to buy only TWO Vehicle figures that are not in the starter pack to experience best parts of the game. I want to talk about how amazing races are in Superchargers, Land type is a typical Kart Racer with some sweet new additions, Sky races are basically Plane sections from Jak and Daxter The Lost frontier but DONE RIGHT, and oh god... Sea races are Outstanding, the whole concept of diving underwater to dodge attacks from other racers or increasing your jump power by jumping out of the wather in the right time is absolutely genius. Also we finally get checkpoints so we don't need to repeat the entire level just to get a stupid story scroll that You missed.
I just buy all the skylanders still don’t have them all but trying but I just want to say that I didn’t like the car gimic in that game but I did hate that in imaginators they weakened the skylanders so the old ones do crap but now I just like to think of it as hard mode and there’s awesome old skylanders that are still great like spy rise but the two things I hate about imaginators is that yes you can’t use the sensei realms without all the elements but the true one thing I hate about it is the character designs I mean they all wear a robe with a golden belt but I hate how there supposed to be like god looking I just want some wacky and crazy skylanders like pop thorn wrecking ball deja vu drill sergeant
I use to play swapforce with my cousin at his house as a kid when I visited. I forget how but I ended up with a character manual and some split off toys that were basically beyblades.
YES I KNOW. CHOP CHOP IS AN ARKEYAN. I FORGOT.

These videos are really professional! It’s weird how little subs you have, love the video tho :))
thanks! But this was a collaborative effort editing between myself and Brettmxyz (his link is in the description), so I can't take ALL the credit for it
Oh my God,the first Skylanders game I got was Swap Force,I fell in love with it ever since. I'm so sad it got cancelled.
In my opinion trap team was the best I used to love these games
I liked Trap Team too, the music theme, new characters, trap gimic and side content are really awesome.
mine is giants, but i see where you are coming from
i personally dig spyros adventures main theme
I was so happy because the next day my mother bought me and my older brother trap team.
i loved the toys they made! i had the glow in the dark eye brawl and that was a big part of my younger days
Good times.
I'm about to buy a new set, just letting my child's dream comming true.. i wasn't able to get it when i was young.. but now i am!
Hell yeah! Which one did ya get
@@toxiquid lmao you got ghosted
Man hearing that music from Spyros Adventure made me so damn nostalgic. Also talking about the Arkeyans how could you not mention Chop-Chop, an actual fooking undead Arkeyan? Also, facts, Swap Force is the best game.
Ack I know (many people have pointed it out), if I learn how to change that, I will
yes!
Honestly I’ve never really liked swap force. I really like giants the most
Also yes I know this reply is extremely late
Swap force was my first introduction to the series. I was pretty young back then too. I got every game since it for Xbox 360. I have always wanted Activision to make a new skylanders since it's been years. It was an amazing part of my early childhood. Let's hope Activision still realizes the series still has fans.
I love swap force, other than Giants, it’s my favorite. I doubt that the series will go back to its roots, but it did have nice secondary material, with a tv show and 2(?) mobile games.
Also congrats you are my first 100th commenter
@@toxiquid yeah your right but who knows maybe Activision can revive the toys to life genre again
Maybe maybe
One of my favorite elements of Skylanders was the gameplay loop. A beat-em-up platformer where as the levels get more difficult, you power up your character through exp and give them diverse and powerful movesets with money collected throughout the stages. That, on top of secret areas & side passages that contained tons of bonus content for completionists, makes me feel like it was more than just the figurines that got me hooked as a kid. I really hope and indie game or something revisits this gameplay concept, just without all the real world purchases.
Also thinking about it, this series is probably the biggest thing that got me into character design.
I want to know why threes been no app for sky stones I loved it
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Gather around, gather around. Kick your feet up and grab some popcorn and get ready to jump up with joy for another skylanders game from toys for bob. More information will be released when I have it, but until then buy your tickets NIW for the show in the future.
Should I get imaginators.I played Giants when it first came out and I loved.Should I get the newest one
Depends on whether or not you’d be really invested in the Imaginators and senseis and shiz. I personally wouldn’t, because The first 4 did everything better IMO, but I could see where the charm would be in it
Toxiquid ya I played the first two and loved them. But I stopped and I just wondered if I should get the newest one.
I would personally get Swap Force, as it is the tightest in gameplay for me, and is a direct sequel
I'd personally go with the newest one or maybe Trap Team.
Ya I think you should it has a pretty good story and it’s really cool that you can make and play your own skylanders also you can get figures of some of the best villains in trap team
Giants and Swap Force makes me nostalgic
x2, plus the first one.
I remember when I got swap force, I was so happy I played it nonstop for around a week
You didn’t mention baby skylanders like my boy mini-Rex, or the alternate form releases (which I have like all of)
Or eon’s elite, pay to win easy mode
Lol it isn’t mini Rex it’s barkley
I literally had a whole collection with almost every character and I miss it 😢
A video about skylanders at this point? Instant subscribe
thanks!
This game was my childhood since I was 7. I love this game series and I still love it and play it today. I’m sad stores stopped selling skylanders characters, I want to collect more characters to add to my large collection 😭😢
Oh my god it’s all coming back.... this is unlocking memories I completely forgot I had. Miss these days😂
What I love is that our community is still alive and well to this day
Thank you so much for this video 💚
I have all 32 original skylanders I miss this series
thats impressive!
I miss these types of games.
Me too...
I know i miss disney infinity so much
Dude I remember the first three games: Skylanders spyro's adventure, giants and swap force. They were AMAZING! After that they jumped the shark and just tried to capitalize off the first three games success. It was so sad watching this franchise just die off
My favorite video game
I remember me and my brother spending countless hours on Skylanders, completing the game over and over, constantly getting stuck on the hydra. I absolutely dreaded it, no matter how many times we played it.
Eventually the disc broke, and we got Swap Force, and soon enough our disc reader broke on our 360. Its extremely rare to get any game or movie working in it anymore, so when we can, it's exhilarating to relive the past.
The one word that comes to mind is 'sequelitis'. The only thing they probably didn't do is the horror movie sequel gimmick of having the next installment being set in space or 'da hood'.
heh that would suck
No, the main character is the portal master which is the player of the game
This game I still have the games, skylander and portals I played until they stopped producing more games this was my childhood
Skylanders is not dead.
I'm 1 year late, but i got a question for you guys, Who's your favorite Skylander from each game?
3:46 There are actually type matchups in Skylanders, though it's linear unlike Pokemon. The type matchups go like this iirc:
Air > Earth > Tech > Magic > Undead > Life > Water > Fire > Air
Each Skyander does bonus damage against enemies of the type they are strong against based on their elemental power.
dang. i remember liking trap team the best. i grew out of the franchise with that one, and i am excited to play them again some day.
5 and a half years later, I'm vibing with trap team being the best
Trap team is a 10/10
*Broccoli guy was framed okay?*
Lmao
Thanks Garfield!
1:43
Okay, this guys DEAL is being one of my favorites.
Finally someone who ar nice when they review a game I’m subscribing
I used to love skylanders, until i just stopped playing during imaginators and then had to move and don't know where all the figures are. But now i found the majority of them and want to go back for a full playthrough!
We need a Spyros and Giants Remaster
3:54 yes there are weakness only in PVP though it goes magic>undead>life>water>fire>air>earth>teach>magic, also it was removed in swap force
I need this game to come back this makes me sad that it's gone...
at least it still lives in our hearts, yall
Skylanders is not gone.
banditle 64, you do realise that there are no more mainstream skylanders games being released, the netflix show has been cancelled, and most of the mobile games have been removed from app stores, save for ring of heroes. so, the skylanders franchise has been denying, you're just in denial.
Sky landers was my favourite game as a child.
while it wasn't my favorite, Pokemon has that honor, I still really liked it
There's a Netflix show that's cannon and acts as a 7th game
When you mention Drill Sergeant being an arkeyan machine while forgetting Chop Chop is LITERALLY an arkeyan knight. Other than that great video lol.
Skybricksgaming 83 I know aaaa I wish I could add that in somehow
I was in preschool back then, but who remembers the happy meal commercials for skylanders giants?
Spyro in Smash
When I was younger I played lots of sky lander games
Ps I started with the swap forces and then I played all the others they released
Weaknesses in Elements are a thing in battle mode. If you fight a water type against a fire type you deal more damage, undead vs life, so on
I have only played through Superchargers because it's one of the few 3D platformers you can play as Bowser. :D
