Bob, it was great to finally meet you Friday morning, I was the guy that mentioned how your videos started my passion for radios - you apologized...lol! What a great show, it was my first time attending, I picked up a Trans Oceanic R-7000. Not sure I'll be able to make it for the Sept show but plan to be there next year. Thanks for another great video!

I recently discovered your channel. What a delight you are to watch!!
I’m 71, been plagued with dozens of orthopedic surgeries due to arthritis, the most recent is an extremely painful foot and ankle surgery resulting in a three month recuperation.
    Why do I mention that??
Your videos have given me so much entertainment and joy.
I was actually able to cut my pain medication in half as I forgot to take it because I was so engrossed in the videos. I couldn’t leave the house for months.
I particularly like your swap meat videos where you show the prices of the items. Makes me a more informed buyer.
I have about 14 antique radios. I’ve no idea how to repair them but now I at least know what questions to ask.
I recently watched your video regarding your heart attack and recovery. I wish you well and a continued success in your recovery.
Thanks again for sharing your adventures in this wonderful hobby.
I’m even going to my first radio swap meat in Brookline, NH on 9/30.
Your enthusiasm is contagious and again, thanks.
    I wait eagerly your videos!
    Bill

Thank you for your kind words. I first struggled with some of my heart meds and with some help from my wife, we were able to figure out what works for me. I did this stuff as a kid, then gained an interest in cars - Then met my wife, bought a house, got married, then came back to old electronics. New Jersey runs full circle too. When I was a kid, I'd see folks who bought pot and albeit was illegal and came in a plastic bag. Now you can go to a "dispensery" and buy pot, but it's illegal to get a plastic bag at the supermarket!
Thank you for subscribing, and hope you get better! Enjoy the hobby!

I appreciate the great video! I've never seen the Liberty phone radio & the Emerson Strad model, definitely cool! Thanks for taking us along on the trip!

About 9-10 years ago, I was at a NJARC club repair clinic when a couple brought in a Strad to get working and I was the lucky guy to do it. I informed them that this radio was valueable and deserved a full electrical service, which I did. Can't quite afford one (yet). The "Liberty Phone" was found to be made in New York City and was the only radio that company made. I received that info from Aaron of the New Jersey Antique Radio club (NJARC).

I NEVER saw that model of a glass radio. Very cool. Evin back in the 1970s when I started collecting vintage radios glass radios were not cheap. The only glass radio I have in my collection is a Spartan 4 knob sled. All original as found unrestored. Got it out of the original owners house back in the 1970s. I wanted to buy more but there was never a bargain price on one.

I enjoyed talking to you and Mrs RW at your table. The swap meet was fun. I came home with 4 radios, a horn speaker and a bag of tubes. That should keep me busy for a long while. Thank you for the video. I would love to get an AK Breadboard some day. Getting a $20 radio into the house is easy…a $700 radio?; not going to happen. Hahahaha Take care.

I know you may think I'm nuts but 5 years ago, a working breadboard in good condition went for $1,200 - $1,500! That was about market value now - $700-$900! Good to see you, and hope you'll come back in September.

Thanks for another great video Bob. I was the Canadian newbie to Kutztown sitting right behind you at the auction and it was a pleasure to meet you. I had a terrific time there and hauled back a few goodies. I won the bid for the Atwater Kent 44 Pooley, my second AK in a week. Credit your videos for piquing my interest to attend, thank you.

Well, if you're a Atwater Kent fan, you're in AK country here ( They were made in Philadelphia). No shortage here. Thanks for coming and hope to see you in September.

6:45 Ayeee an RCA "bullhorn". I have one, but it got wrecked in shipping....cabinet was in multiple pieces, I have it taped together rignt now as a mock up. the dial on the chassis got bent, and the filter cap almost ripped right off by the speaker wire when it fell apart in the box.
Hopefully someday I can restore her to her former glory, gluing the bakelite cabinet back together and hiding the cracks and missing chips won't be easy I'll bet.

That is an amazing amount of stuff there Bob. After just coming from a Ham Radio swap the same day you went to this one we had nowhere near the amount of stuff you guys had. Thanks for the look around Bob.

Great auction but $700 for that breadboard.....WOW!

    • @Radiowild
      @Radiowild  Рік тому

That was current market value. Five years ago they went for almost double that! Seems weird but that's how you know the price of anything - What will folks pay for it!

"and a degree of insanity to follow thru to the end for a working radio." Sounds like a Majestic. Or a sectional Philco chassis.
