Whats a man gotta do to get a full version of the song like this! second death is one of my favourite songs ever, so coming into this I was expecting something cool, but gimmicky that Id listen to a couple of times. It was in fact, massive, and i really, really need a full version that I can put on at home.

The main purpose of this video is to show y’all how added layering can TRANSFORM a song. This doesn’t necessarily mean making it ‘better’, but simply giving it another musical perspective. YES, we all have our unique tastes, which is a beautiful thing.
The finished product looks EASY. However, at the start of my process, this was one of the TRICKIEST songs to write to.
If you’re a musician, you understand the endless kinds of melodies, instruments, timbres, articulations, rhythms, etc, which we can work with.
To me personally, the elements I selected felt just right. For example, the square wave of the low brass accompanies the distortion of the original really well, the staccatos of the strings and choir really make the melody stand out over the original’s dragged out notes.
There are so many bands who incorporate orchestral instruments, too, which really gives their songs a unique character.
If you’re triggered by this change in style and feel the urge to defend your scene, relax. This is me just having some fun lol.
To me, the original sounds dope as is and this “pimped up” version is simply my own creative take on it. This is something I do for fun as well as for work.
