I love how Conan looked to Sona for validation on his joke…he was asking for the laugh with his eyes haha
"No, Sona? Really? Not even a giggle? Come on... It wasn't that bad. Just fake it!"... and she refused! And that was the funniest thing she could do. Also... the joke was bad, Conan. You deserved it.

And then I love how the joke didn't make her laugh but him looking at her for validation did. He knows how to get a laugh out of her even when he can't.

At first I thought this was deep commentary on the human experience, then I realized it was a penis joke. Either way, I like it.

Conan is selling himself short. Compared to the average person, he is very very VERY smart. Given that he's also humble and compassionate (when not playing his 'character') it's hard to argue that he isn't a complete and wholesome individual.
Compassionate? The guy that does softball interviews sanitizing the reputations of Genocide Joe and the Butchers of Libya Obama and Hillary? Did you see The Zone of Interest? It's about banally evil people like Conan, casually indifferent to the horrific slaughter of entire peoples.

The handful of times I've encountered a celebrity whose work I really care about, I just leave them alone. Because Conan's right, there's not much value in going up to someone and gushing about their work. They've heard it enough, it doesn't lead anywhere, it's really more for YOU than them

ABSOLUTELY agree, just last night I was thinking about how Conan literally genuinely has gotten funnier and funnier with time for me personally and I think that's part of it besides the different formats from which this podcast is BY FAR the best or at least funniest thing he's ever done without a doubt, where he's at his absolute best just riffing around and having actual conversations, he's happier and it just shows
4 genuine people in a room laughing won't ever get old.

Well, as an example, I was always compared to Conan when I was young. I was funny like him, I had a similar presence, and I sort of looked like him in a gingery way, too. I didn't like the comparison at the time, as a young person. But now I absolutely love him. I feel like I have come into my own, and he certainly has. He is very thoughtful, kind, and still very funny. And smart! Haha
This podcast is fantastic. Loved Conan since the begining. The whole cast is great. And Sona not to sound like a creep but your the hottest woman in showbiz with your looks and personality

There are different types of intelligence (I believe) but yeah empathy and emotional and creative intelligence is a lot more appealing to me personally. Great interview :)

I appreciate Conan for not surrounding his brand completely around Politics. Just some funny quips here and there. Every late night host has completely morphed into that solely and it’s sooo boring.
I appreciate Conan for knowing what he's best at and sticking wit it. Seth Meyers deals with political matters, and he is both good at it and funny.

Conan seems like a lovely guy and I’ve really enjoyed this podcast but I don’t really understand how his genre of comedy could be labeled as ‘smart’. I’ve always viewed his genre of comedy (pre podcast) as ‘college boy’ humor.

Let’s be honest with ourselves though whatever ‘smart’ comedy is it’s not pre podcast Conan, he was a form of light entertainment with that goofy big brother vibe. My OG comment was kind of a reaction to how weirdly reverential (from both sides) this clip felt.

The fake laughing is out of control on this show. Conan does plenty of fake laughing, but Sona Movsesian is literally there to fake laugh; much like Robin Quivers on the Stern show. Despite all this annoying fake laughing, Zach is a smart, funny guest; almost on par with Conan's quick wit.
