Did a psychometric character test and got him as my top 88% match on both occasions, can confirm that in real life generally people like us are kinda lonely. At first I thought they were using that scene to establish him as a possible Nazi, but after finishing the series, I think it was more that he has multiple personality disorder. There are so many allusions to it and it is possible that one of his personalities has learned German and the main Jared has no recollection. Something like that is actually possible in real life. I knew a lady who had worked in a mental clinic and her first patient was a lady with 17 personalities. It took 3 years of counseling before they realized that she had multiple personalities. One of the personalities was a bouncer; another had a phD from Rice University. The original alternate personality was a teddy bear. They were able to merge the 17 into 3 before she moved on from the clinic.
If Jared were a real person I would definitely want him in my life. So loyal, sensitive, intelligent and uniquely weird.
