1. breathtaking graphics 2. driving physics that most car games can't hold a candle to 3. some of the best damage models to date in any car game 4. it takes very real skill to master this game, unlike most car games were it's tap to drift 5. The stunts are entertaining 6. That cars are really sweet, there is something for everyone
I was ten when this game came out, I remember the anticipation was very high. I thought this game was revolutionary even at that young age, there was nothing like it, it took everything I loved about the Driver series and classic car movies and combined it in to one amazing experience. This is one of few games I still dig out and do a playthrough every couple years.
I completed this and the sequel as an eight or nine year old. I honestly am surprised to see so many people are saying they found it hard. They were great games, though. I'd absolutely love for them to make a new one.
@@jonathanbaird8109 I agree. This game came out when I was 10, and although later missions gave some trouble, I was able to beat the game. I did play Driver & Driver 2 religiously before this game came out so I may have been slightly better than the average player. I always thought the challenge of the game was what made it special along with the realistic approach, which the lack of these elements ultimately made the sequel game rubbish.
Did anyone look up the numberplate for the car in the London stunts. Turns out the plate comes up as a Ford Capri which it's based on but it says it's black.
This game (and Ignition) should have become a whole series. I still want to play them on my ps5. Imagine being able to play parodies of more modern movies, with better graphics and updated controls and mechanics.
I don't remember this game being that hard until near the end. Maybe it was so horribly difficult my brain blocked out those memories, but I really loved this game as a kid.
As a kid, i remember constantly seeing this for Ps2 on the shelf in the local video store. I kind of wanted to rent it, but never actually did. I regret my choices.
I play this game at my youth group. I go into the arena editor thing and put a flip ramp in the centre and put a small wall about 35 metres away or so.
I'm tempted to attempt to boot up one of my screwed up PS2's to play this game. One of them doesn't turn on at all times and the other one doesn't have a properly working disc tray.
there was a sequel but it was developed by THQ not Reflections, because atari sold the rights to them when they shut down Reflections. i'll never forgive atari for that, we could've had a modern stuntman game with multiplayer and an even more expansive stunt creator.
I remember at the end of the jump scene (13 minutes in), that I scored a passing result despite managing to tip the car over AND dunk it in the Thames at the end. I still have no idea how the f*** that happened...
The game is a sandbox simulation with a limited userbase, no one else in particular has showcased trailer jumps or stacked ramps to setup tricks just like in the stunt constructor in Stuntman, so can't really share videos from anyone else that'd be relevant in this case.
I don't think dan will see this but he should play stuntman ignition because it did the things said he wanted like telling you what the stunts would be in the part you were doing
Yeah, it probably looks pretty rubbish now but i used to love it when i was a kid because it was sudo-open world kinda.. but it also had a film feature so you could record yourself in car chases i think.

@@letsplayclassicgames5024 I was 3, but I think my Dad got it later on like in the mid 2000s. But I played the shit out of this game haha
I 100% the career mode in this game as a kid. Getting every stunt on that final mission took so long... The horror... oh god....
Rembember the secret car u got when u beat all of the missions
Same here, and yeah you have to keep restarting again and again for some of those missions...
he complains about the loading times in this but 2 years later he completes Sonic 06
Also complaining about those loading times :P
The Digital Nerd and super monkey balk adventure,
Super Monkey Balk? That's the one where the monkeys suck at pitching, right?
Yeah man, terrible, pressure gets to them, they stumble alot
@@dxmnc 300 pounds of pressure?
anyone want him to do a complete series on this
No i want him to do a completes of stuntman ignition
I know I'm 4 years late, but I'd love to see a complete series of Stuntman or Stuntman Ignition
"Overtaking is difficult" maybe because every time you're told to overtake you just ram them
+charlie ord dan follows jackscepticeye
Scanning through the video all I see is constant "toothless and wapping" loading screens
I like how it subtitled the explosion.
This game is hitting The Simpsons: Hit and Run levels of stress.
If you think this is stressful play the Gameboy advance version.
this is probably one of the hardest games I ever played.
That last scene....I don't know if my hands have ever moved that quickly.
Certainly awesome though when you do get to that point and finally pull it off.
I completed this and the sequel as an eight or nine year old. I honestly am surprised to see so many people are saying they found it hard. They were great games, though. I'd absolutely love for them to make a new one.

Jonathan Baird I completed it round 9 years old too. God knows how, going back a decade later
Did anyone look up the numberplate for the car in the London stunts. Turns out the plate comes up as a Ford Capri which it's based on but it says it's black.
LJTProductions NERD ....... that is still cool tho...
I spent so many hours of my childhood playing stuntman ignition and actually beat it.
Same here
ignition was a cakewalk
+Egon “VelvetCake” de Hart I completed ignition with all 5 stars when I was 7.... but I did play it pretty much 24/7
+Wee Spacekiller same... I tried to get 5 stars on them, but i never did it
Compared to the original, Ignition was relatively easy. Still loved both of them.
I think I used to play a sequel to this game on the 360. All I remember is a volcano explosion.
Its called Stuntman Ignition I remember the exact same thing.
MemeStar on ps2 aswell
BanishedGaming I played that on PS3, great game.
I loved that game so much.
wait that trailer was actually really fucking cool, I love that it included your actual driving
I realize I'm WAY too late for this, but the cheat was "BindI."
This game (and Ignition) should have become a whole series. I still want to play them on my ps5. Imagine being able to play parodies of more modern movies, with better graphics and updated controls and mechanics.
Dan this game was built as the tech demo for Driv3r. That's probably why it feels like Driver XD
I don't remember this game being that hard until near the end. Maybe it was so horribly difficult my brain blocked out those memories, but I really loved this game as a kid.
Holy shit I never knew Dan did a Stuntman video! This game was such a major part of my childhood. That menu screen is burned into my mind.
As a kid, i remember constantly seeing this for Ps2 on the shelf in the local video store. I kind of wanted to rent it, but never actually did. I regret my choices.
Nerd3 needs to bring this series back. Old PS2 games rule!!!!!
That trailer looked like it could have been Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels 2
Nah more so Snatch.
They really half-arsed the sound effects if they couldn't even get the right siren
I remember playing this and Ignition. I still have Stuntman Ignition on my PS3
wow
MAKE A FULL SERIES ON THIS!!
When I was a kid, I rented this game out from the local store about 40 times, woulda been cheaper to buy it, but....well...I was 8.
I play this game at my youth group. I go into the arena editor thing and put a flip ramp in the centre and put a small wall about 35 metres away or so.
I remember buying the demo. It was like a scene from a movie about hillbillies or something
it would have come with a magazine probably (the main point i got them was for their demo discs)
It was like the dukes of hazard rip off
Yeah Whoopin and Hollerin
When he said I'm gonna do it and failed. I died
I've broken controllers because if this game's difficulty.
I'm tempted to attempt to boot up one of my screwed up PS2's to play this game. One of them doesn't turn on at all times and the other one doesn't have a properly working disc tray.
Oh god the memories.
I loved this game back in the day.
ive played this game when i was younger and JESUS i loved it!
That description is great.
I thought this game actually looked like good fun, despite a few obvious errors. Especially if you're into these sort of games.
lol looking back but yeah the mission i only got to part 4 and oh well
The dumpster jump scene beginning through the warehouse reminds me of the driver 2 mission.
there was a sequel but it was developed by THQ not Reflections, because atari sold the rights to them when they shut down Reflections. i'll never forgive atari for that, we could've had a modern stuntman game with multiplayer and an even more expansive stunt creator.
Amazing! Signs arent made of tin foil just like in GTA and in other games which feels weird.
This was the game of my childhood
I cant begin to describe the frustration i had with this game, despite that i still had a blast somehow.
It's the Dark Souls of driving games pretty much.
We NEED this ported to PC.
that game!!! i almost frickin finished conspiracy and was raging so hard i scratched the disc and it never turned back on :'(
That's a fun one. You really didn't miss much though, the other movies caused more anger than anything.
I had the same issue, stuck on one of the last stunts and the game now crashes on the menu.
am i the only one who actually likes the trailer for toothless in wapping
you are such a good driver
WOooowW i love this game i remember playing it way back
please do a complete series for this game
I loved this game. I had no issues beating it at 12 years old. Was it really that difficult for everyone else?
A driving simulator based on dark souls
Honestly this film feels like it takes inspiration from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
I only just realised I never played this one, I played the second one Stuntman Ignition I loved that game to bits.
I remember at the end of the jump scene (13 minutes in), that I scored a passing result despite managing to tip the car over AND dunk it in the Thames at the end. I still have no idea how the f*** that happened...
my bro took 15 years to fully complete this
The songs are awesome
2001 WAS NOT PRE INTERNET
The time limit and car driving was nightmare in this game...they used the same game engine from Driver
Can't he just drive on the right? He's a professional he should know how to drive both
This game has a sequel called Stuntman Ignition
not as good though
Serzari
It's cool from you to give people the hint for a SIMILAR game, but advertising videos and accounts is a nogo...
That is the graphics for Euro truck on my pc
the 2nd game, Stuntman: Ignition was pretty fun to.
this game was made by reflections at the same time as driv3r thats y driv3r was a buggy mess
Did M Night Shyamalan direct this?
2nd one was amazing
@33:25 - A man with a face far too small for his head. Adult Haley Joel Osment's long lost brother, perhaps?
Please do more of this game
10:57 WTF!!! THAT LICENCE PLATE HAS MY INITIALS ON IT!!!
+just a pug JTW 728Y what are you called Justin Tyler Wayne 728 YOLO xD
+Ralien eh... No.
nah this game was BAE. anyone remember trying to jump onto that fucking U-boat. its was IMPOSSIBLE
+[REVM] Madman2K1 i can so relate to that! When I was younger I didn't know what the "action button" was. so I always failed the nitro scene.
Diecast Master (formally MWE Stopmotion) i know. i eventually figured it was like one of 4 buttons so i just spammed every button XD
+MadMan this game was hell
U-Boat?! I couldn't even do a U-Turn!
almost beat this game but the indiana jones parody was way to hard
I used to play this all of the time when I was kid for like a bizillion hours a day and I didn't even make it past the 2nd level
That final scene was a tough bastard for sure.
I had this on my ps2 xD Memories
The sequel is Stuntman: ignition
SuperCalifragilisticWhenWeDropWeGoBallistic
You need to play Italian job for the ps1 such nostalgia
Huh, I never knew that was a thing.
Yeah, it probably looks pretty rubbish now but i used to love it when i was a kid because it was sudo-open world kinda.. but it also had a film feature so you could record yourself in car chases i think.
you should do the stunt creator mode
17:32 to answer your question Dan, Stanley Kubrick.
I could not fucking figure out the flip button for ages back in the day
I beat the whole game when I was 7 and that game just gets harder as u move on in the career but its fun
did this game have inside knolage about how to train your dragon because 3:35 in it says the words hiccup and toothless within 5 words of each other
You have to be the worst driver ever
Ben Bucci To be fair on him, he has no idea how to drive a car.
Seamus Brough true
I've plated Ignition. Shit's hard
the amount of ps2 controlers that have hit the wall at ridiculos speed because of this game, sirously that fucking tuk tuk level
Ah, the tuk tuk and the sidecar motorcycle. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuun times.
I had a lot of trouble with the career too
Did Dan not know the cheat to unlock everything for the stunt constructor?
he said that in the video you twat
i was about to go to bed...than i found this video
many memories brought back lol played the shit out of the game aha
FW means "fucks with"
Or funs with if your mums in the room
I remember this! And yeah impossible for me too😂
Yep, Driver was made by Reflections... Man, I wasted so many hours of my life playing it.
I used to play that game when i was 10!!!!
supercalifagilistic, make your mami go ballistic
I was younger than 12 when I 100%'d this game by the way xD
"GTA 4 2 heavy"
I thought that hahah but I think he meant "too heavy"
if u make ur name spiDER u unlock all cars
I've completed the hole game
I find Stuntman less hard, and more about Trial/Error
Alot of people just trying to give this game a bad name by saying "it's too hard".
Oh my god, FUCK this game. This game infuriated me when I was younger.
What's the song at the beginning?
Niklas Leroux Thanks man
wonder why It feels like driver
