Definitely high quality "buy once, cry once" tools. They will certainly last a lifetime. Love the machining and design. I have the Rip Spool, Match Cap XL, and Nano Spark and love them all.
Thank you for doing this video. Ive been confused as to all the offerings on the market and bought some cheap Bic lighters, fero rods (which turned out to be way to large for my back pack.... So in other words I don't know what I'm doing lol. So seeing someone review each one helps greatly
The best part of the Exotac Firesleeve is it keeps the flint wheel from oxidizing. I have one in my car that I test sporadically. The lighter has never failed to spark or light. A Bic lighter exposed to air will fail. Great product and great video!
It's all so shiny, I'm jealous! Mine is all cheap, old stuff, but they work. That being said, I'd LOVE an orange TitanLight XL, but it's just not in my budget. The Nano Striker XL is such a good idea to protect the ferro rod, I carry a small tin of a mixture of beeswax and linseed oil that I use for one thing to rub a bit on my ferro rod after I use it to protect it from corrosion, it actually works quite well. For my Bic, I just wrap a thin strip of duct tape under the button so it can't depress unless I peel it back. Thanks for the nice video.
I just received my o knife fortitude that you reviewed not to long ago ago and very impressed thank you so much I love this knife everything you said it was again thank you also purchased the saint it is awesome if I need something I view your channel before I purchase it
I have a few Exotac items & really like the quality. The TitanLight & the fuel will not evaporate. Also have a NanoStriker in a EDC pouch & a MatchCap XL with my large fire kit. Great stuff & looking forward to getting a few more items from them, just wish it wasn’t so expensive in Canada 🇨🇦.
That’s probably true to a point, until your matches are defective, and your lighter is soaked. Probably land under the good to know category, but not absolutely essential
I mean even for lighting a camp fire I don’t use matches, lighters are so much more convenient, idk what that guy was smoking but it’s dumb for survivals sake to rely on matches, easiest reasons are that matches can run out and matches as with anything EXCEPT your skills can get lost if you lose your pack
@@remystrach5212I think for regular camping it’s unnecessary to know if you stay in a campground or something, but if you are going into the woods with a chance of getting lost for an extended period of time, you really need to know several methods, including ones that don’t require you to have tools with you or minimal tools
@@remystrach5212 yeah, unless that is your idea of fun but it’s not my idea of fun to wear out my arm for a chance at a fire, it’s good to know but not my idea of fun XD
Sootch you left out the braided line and teh firecord lanyard on the Rip spool! Two of the reasons I bought mine. I have four of these items and agree 110% on Exotac's quality!
I have a BIG Ferro Rod that I put my own handle on I do have the ExoTac Zippo like lighter which is great never dries out like a Zippo I don't smoke so my Zippo is always DRY when I need it ⚠WARNING⚠ do not over fill the lighter! but the order I placed on Amazon... ordered GREEN and got ORANGE and the $$ has gone up in less than a year they are pricey! that SPARKY thing I just use an old BIC that I modify I went with the OneTigris Tool Roll it's a bit bigger tor that BIG Ferro Rod I have and other stuff
I literally want to buy all of these items (not joking) after watching this. I already have two of them but would buy them again for other packs. I like the variety too and the fact that most of these items have little compartments is a big deal for me. Currently playing around with dead palm tree branches for tinder so we'll see how that goes.
Cotton balls and Vaseline, I’ve yet to not be able to start a fire regardless of rain conditions, it’s also cheap and waterproof (for the most part) so that’s what I would recommend, just put them in an old pill bottle or something similar
@@shyowl3453 I've been thinking about that too, although, we get an estimated 8.5 inches of rain per year where I'm from so that's probably why I haven't gone that route yet. It's a good idea though.
@@deceptionsdemise you are completely right of course. thoroughly soaked dead palm tree branches will always be better than waterproof Vaseline. I am very proud of you for being a man and sticking to your guns.
After years of watching you have fun with these strikers I decided it’s time to go nuts and buy a bunch. I thank you. But now you gotta do a video showcasing excuses that can be made to the wife 😅
I’ve had the titan light for probably about two years at this point. The orings have cracked and fell off and the top piece has become wobbly and the pin likes to fall out.

Beautifully manufactured ferro rods and fire equipment.
"Fire is good. Yes, fire our friend."...
the quote is "fire good", not fire is good. read Prometheus Bound again
I got sold on my first rod, ordered on your recommendation, now I just buy for gifts because you cannot go wrong with a Lifesaver.
Good morning from Syracuse NY brother and everyone else thank you for sharing your adventures and your information
Thank you for this. Please be safe out there. It's good to be prepared at all times
I've got 550 Firecord as my bootlace, you never know when you might need it.
The best emergency firestarter are olights. They also make good grenades aswell.

My top 3 fire-starting tools.
1: Bic Lighter
2: Bic Lighter

you have never tried to start a fire in a high wind, have you
Good morning from Puerto Rico
I keep a couple of butane lighters in each of our vehicles - kind of shocked how often I use them!
what does "kind of" shocked mean?

Good options , thanks for sharing , God bless !
You can take the piece that covers up the nano xl ferro rod and twist it in to the threads where the striker came out of.
This video brought to you by Exotac! (Not that he ever said it.)
Thanks for the review. Exotac is an example of getting what you pay for. They are solid.
Well, its Made in Georgia! .... "Country folks can survive!" 👍👍
Great reviews!
What kind of folding knife were you using here? It has a 90* spine?
Thanks!

If that Rip Spool tool, would convert to a "Speedy Stitcher" style tool, it would be awesome! Similar but different. And maybe it does!?
I remember a survival instructor saying that fire-starting skills are useless as those who know how to do it never forget their matches. 😂

why? isn't 3 enough?
Perfect timing! Been looking for a firesteel for my 72 hour kit (latest vid on my channel)
Propane torch with piezo igniter Minnesota always on four wheeler and in boat
right. large flames near sources of gasoline fumes are just what you want to get a good survival explosion going.
Nano Stryker XL bigger size same length hold tinderkwik Keychain EDC 👍

The Kardashians fire kit.
Where’s the magnesium fire starter?
at walmart
Fire.... It will burn yo A$$!
What happened to magnesium / ferro rod combos? U shave off some metal and light it. Anyhow, 50 lighters for 20 bucks.
I just learned that Ontario knife company is going out of business for good and I think it's a terrible thing to see.

I have a Zippo (lighter fluid) lighter. It Never has fuel in it, when I need it. It was bought, just for survival. And I don't recommend it.
how can something that requires fuel be a survival item? please explain what you were thinking.
