80s 1st wave or new wave. Came out of nowhere...stayed awhile, then left us. I can’t think of a band that doesn’t better represent this than simple minds...but there are so many to discover. These songs defined a generation.
Great song! I was a teenager in the 80's and along with the hair metal music from that era I love the 80's synth New Wave such as Flock of Seagulls, Simple Minds, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Howard Jones, Nik Kershaw, to name just a few. Awesome songs on your channel. One of these days I will join to become a patron and request some Aldo Nova and Katmandu songs since NO-ONE on youtube reacts to any of their music. Aldo Nova is an under-rated Canadian rock artist with some great songs (Not just "Fantasy" from his first album). His second album "Subject" is incredible and has some amazing guitar melodies that reach David Gilmore level of playing with the harmonies. Katmandu was a one album band formed by former Fastway and now Flogging Molly vocalist Dave King. It also features one of the guitar players from rock band Krokus. Dave King's vocals are fantastic and the songwriting is very good on that album also. Such a shame there are no reactions to them.
So catchy, so melodic, so powerful! One of my favourite anthem from my adolescent time ;-) One of those who brought me into loving Simple Minds after Don't you forget about me.
My Favourite Band (Not a Flash in the Pan) as said earlier these guys have just spent 40 years of making Music has Simple Minds great song from a great Album Play All The Things She Said which can be heard on the Game Grand Theft Auto5 this band was voted Best Live Band 1986 and was around before u2.
The greatest Scottish band there ever was, only gripe is it`s not the album version, longer piano and drum solo and vocals from robin clarke, i belive U2 were catapulted to stardom after Simple Minds faded out so probably U2 sound like them...
My favorite simple minds tune, takes you straight back to the 80's
