Back in the 80s you would never get me to listen to anything but metal now that I'm old I can go back and listen to any 80s music and love it cuz we don't have this kind of music nowadays music today sucks out the ass and has no meaning but killing each other or drive bys or doing drugs bring back the 80s please
I would like to introduce you to Angelina Jordan. She has a beautiful story. She's 18 now. Over 200 UA-cam videos and originals now. Totally old school. Imo she is the best female vocalist alive right now. You feel her every word. Please look her up
Cyndi Lauper...ah, yeah!! Talk about one of the greatest voices. And Cyndi was part of WWE (well when they were WWF) back in the days for a second hence Captain Lou Albano appeared in her videos (and Rowdy Roddy Piper and The Iron Sheik on The Goonies R Good Enough video). This is a beautiful song and speaking of Girls Just Want To Have Fun, I love that song since the premiere of the video on MTV back in 1983. Then again, I was a year old LOL! Great reaction as always.
Exactly! The "dude" could not connect Cyndi Lauper with "boy" stuff like wrestling. Cyndi Lauper played an important role in wrestling back in the 80s, especially with the rock and wrestling connection.
@@andreo952 Exactly. I remember MTV would do a news report about all that in 1985 and it was wild that Cyndi Lauper would do something like that. But then again, this was a decade before Celebrity Deathmatch became a MTV staple in the 90s and 2000s.
Cyndi is a True Artist in every sense of the word. Her first Album "She's so unusual" describes her to a "T" Every song on the album is amazing. Fell in love with her voice first song I heard. Love everything about her. She has a phenomenal voice,so expressive. I've seen her Live, great performer!
I’m a “Metal Head”, I ❤ Metallica, GNR, etc. but I also love Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, and Bryan Adams, etc. I ❤ this song. It’s so beautiful. But I can see how maybe some people don’t “vibe” with it. 😊
Wow, he was off on that take before they started the song. I mean, I watched The A-Team, The Fall Guy, The Dukes Of Hazzard, Knight Rider & The Incredible Hulk growing up.... yet I still preferred love ballads. Cyndi Lauper was great. I also listen to Streisand, Roberta Flack, Madonna, etc... Well, I listen to ALL top 40, but you get the point.
I ran into this an have to say 80s music isn't about the music. Back then, music shaped everything and told the stories of everyone no matter who you were or where you were from. That is why more people listen to that genre than today's music. Living during that time, your life was told by songs. It is something like WW2 suvivors when speaking about nostalgia. Can make you not only remember your first love but brings those feelings back even if only for a moment.
T needs to open his mind up to the possibilities. When some one asked Dylan "What kind of music do you like?" he said "Good". Cyndi Lauper makes good music. ❤
Ha! she mentioned one time in a biography some 20+ yrs ago...when she opened for the Kinks... Girls had just been released so it wasn't big yet. And she said the crowd was mad and they kept yelling "We want the Kinks." and that the crowd would throw quarters at her...in turn she was grateful because she would collect the quarters at the end and be happy she had enough to go to the laundromat. On another gig opening for them, the crowd was booing her so much that she would say..."Oh yea, if you liked that song, wait til you hear this one" she said she grabbed her ukulele and started to play "He's So Unusual" in her Betty Boop voice. She completed her set no matter what .
Cyndi lauper in her video girls just want to have fun. Her father played by former wrestler and wrestling manager Captain Lou albino and that was the start of rock and wrestling. They did a whole thing around music with wrestling and that's pretty much why you got all these theme songs now for wrestlers and so on so forth. Not that they didn't have music that they came out to before, but this solidified it and in the '80s I did watch. Cyndi lauper cuz she had a beautiful voice. Check out Men without hats. Pop goes the world!
Hey T and Tash, a branch of 80’s pop you might like is Aussie rock songs, INXS, Choir-Boys, Men At Work, Cold Chiesel, Jimmy Barnes, 1927, Screaming Jets and even Kylie Minogue and Olivia Newton John. These acts registered on US and other international charts and might be something different for your subscribers. I’d love to also throw in AC/DC but you’ve probably covered them in T’s metal streams.
The woman in the boat on the left is her mother. The man is her then manager/boyfriend. Song written by Kelly and Stienberg. She rearranged it though. Very close friend of hers had passed away from aids while she was working on the album, and she sang it as away to comfort his greiving freinds. Check out "Cyndi Lauper, Best Live Vocals". It's a great introduction to her music. She is one of the best vocalists EVER.
If you were watching wrestling back in the 80's you probably would have seen Cyndi Lauper. Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” music video featured Captain Lou Albano as her father, showcasing her own wrestling moves, including a hammer lock. She was also Wendy Richter's manager and would often Show up on WWF (now WWE) broadcasts.
This song has long been seen as an anthem for the LGBTQ community and Cyndi has been an advocate for queer acceptance since forever. She's currently on tour for what she insists is the last time ever (she's 70, but damn she looks 20 years younger). I've seen her live and as you can imagine she puts on a great show.
This song has a very positive message. I'm sure it's been used in commercials -- maybe with a different singer. A later hit by Cyndi worth a listen is 'I Drove All Night'.
Hello from Germany! Just wanted to say that you two are doing great reaction vids! Thank you! And btw I was a teenager in the 80s and I can confirm that Cyndi Lauper was mainly liked by girls back then. 😅😉😉
I'm not trying to keep the fight going, however T is right. I grew up in the '80s and Cyndi Lauper was singing to All the teen girls. Guys really didn't listen to that kind of music back then. She's got great songs though.
Lets see as a kid in the 80s he might have watched "The Goonies" movie, she sang The Goonies "R" good enough and What a Thrill. He's probably like OH SHYT..🤣P.S. I was a hard rock/metal head type guy and I loved Cyndi, hated Madonna, she is very talented, he can't seem to get Girls Just Want to have fun out of his head.
Cyndi is so eclectic...I recently ran across a cover of a country song she did & loved it...Heartaches By The Number. I know the song by Dwight Yoakam but I'm pretty sure his is a cover too
Mum and I watched this together and she wanted to comment too, so: MUM'S COMMENT: Stop giving him such a hard time. This is not my favourite of hers. MY COMMENT: 'True Colors' and 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' are my favourite Cindi Lauper songs, but I can understand why a straight pre-teen or young teen boy wouldn't want to listen to this. They're so sensitive about their masculinity at that age (especially during the 80s and early 90s). I mean, I know I wasn't listening to a whole lot of metal or rap at that age because it just wasn't something girls were into (at least where I grew up).
I love and have loved this song since it was released. That said, cut T some slack. It’s not his thing. My own personal litmus for music I love it whether it makes me cry into my beer or want to leap out of my skin. If this doesn’t do that for him, then that’s fine. I’m just sad for him. 😢😂❤
See if he likes - by Cyndi Lauper - Boy Blue (it's a live cut from 1987 - it rocks - Rick Derringer on guitar), Change of Heart (hopefully the video is not blocked), her cover version of What's Going On, Who Let in The Rain ( a look at Cyndi in the 90's).
Would love for you to react to more Queen. Now I’m Here live at Wembley 1986. All members of the band jamming and performing their best. Under Pressure from the same concert. Dragon Attack and Another One Bites The Dust, Somebody to Love live Montreal 1981. White Queen live T Odeon Hammersmith 1975. Queen’s live performances are usually better than the studio version and sound different. They figured people could stay home and listen to the album so they made the live versions different.
i was in high school and loved cyndi lauper i didn’t care if she was a girl i never thought i couldn’t listen to her if i was a boy i listened to all genders
We grew up with her. Going at it raw could be a little corny. He doesn't like corny. But she is an icon and we couldn't wait for her next song to break!
Cyndi Lauper sang True Colors in memory of a dear friend who died of HIV AIDS after friends and family rejected him. Not only did she stay beside him until death but she started the True Colors Fund to help young LBGTQ young people who are thrown out on the streets because of their orientation. The Pride flag is in honor of Cyndi, her song and her fund and all those who died of HIV alone and rejected by those closest to them. Cyndi is a deeply spiritual woman and the scene with her in the flowing dress cradling a man in her arms is symbolic of his death and new life. She is gifted, loving and courageous; known for standing up for the marginalized even if it effected her career. You are ridiculous and disrespectful.
I’m sorry, I listened to _Girls just wanna have fun_ and I loved it, and my manhood was intact. :-) I still, listen to that song now and then, among other fantastic music made by Lauper.
Curiosity killedthe Cat were great, B52s were so different but equally great.Spandau Ballet, one of my favourites and the obviously Wham which had George Michael and Andrew Ridgley, one of their best was I'm your man but there are loads of excellent songs they did. The Bangles were pretty great too, but us English girls and the gay boys loved Bananarama
Dude is just a hater. I'm a 30 something year old mysoginist and I absolutely love this song. Cyndi is just so freaking cool. Please check out "Time after time". Maybe he changes his mind.
You might have liked it better without being distracted by the video. 80s videos can be amazing interpretations of the lyrics or random whackiness, it's a lottery. It's a shame that some people pass on music because the artist is a woman, but it's undeniably true, then and now. They miss out on unexpected treasures.
Yes, music is for everyone but as an eighties teen I know more girls were listening to Cyndi Lauper than the boys at that time. But times have changed.
As a death metaller, I'll always have time for Cyndi Lauper, especially this song
She was magical back then. Whoever the producer was did a really good job with the recordings.
Cyndi has an incredible voice. I liked her music as a kid, but I love her music as an adult.
Back in the 80s you would never get me to listen to anything but metal now that I'm old I can go back and listen to any 80s music and love it cuz we don't have this kind of music nowadays music today sucks out the ass and has no meaning but killing each other or drive bys or doing drugs bring back the 80s please
Lol, sounds exactly like me.
I would like to introduce you to Angelina Jordan. She has a beautiful story. She's 18 now. Over 200 UA-cam videos and originals now. Totally old school. Imo she is the best female vocalist alive right now. You feel her every word. Please look her up
55 yars old metal head here , but i dont know why but i love 80's pop t'ill the mid 90's but that all
70 here so i'm 60s 70s and 80s to mid 90s too, just not much after that that compares imho.
Such a BEAUTIFUL TUNE...and, I LOVE the LYRICS!!! HUGS, YOU-TWO!!! :)
Cyndi Lauper's did true colors and its the original version and its dedicated to her best friend who dide months before she thought about writing it
Time after Time is a must
One of the best songs ever made. Period.
The song does show Cyndi's range! Thanks for playing this song.
Thank y'all for giving me girl some play . Believe out not she's still touring.

I’m a Metal Head who adores and appreciates Cyndi Lauper. ❤ your reaction. Your true colors are beautiful like a Rainbow 🌈
Hope u love the #1 Karen Carpenter!!
The Bro is way behind!! Was he only into bad rap with the N and F word all the time??😢😢😢😮😮😮
@@michaelasay8587 but of course. Superstar is a masterpiece!
Lgbtq ruined the rainbow for me is so sad
"I Drove All Night" next 🙂
Beautiful song with a timeless message for everyone! Especially if you know or love any children.
Your reaction is how I feel for 90% of the songs on reaction channels... like "how!! have you not heard this?"

I'm a metal head,i had the long hair and use to head bang, but I still like cyndi and alot of other 80,s bands
T needs to open his mind up to the possibilities. When some one asked Dylan "What kind of music do you like?" he said "Good". Cyndi Lauper makes good music. ❤
T is obviously a refined man of culture, and I appreciate it.
Cyndi Lauper actually wrestled (wwf) in the 80s and Captain Lou Albano was her manager.
Wasn't that the Dad in the Goonies and Girl's Just Want to Have Fun?
You two are funny! I actually like this, and Metal. Great video, and I'm glad he said how he liked it.
Great 80’s song is Died in your arms by Cutting Crew and Mad World by Tears for Fears
Hoping desperately she comes to Australia on her final tour ever before she retires 🤞
The first concert I ever went to was The Kinks with Cyndi Lauper opening in 1983 on my 16th birthday.

I’m glad T is honest ❤ I prefer honesty ! I love her !
It's a reaction channel, but it's also like a mini-drama!

She's practically an angel on Earth.
Her cover of Midnight Radio is otherworldly.
The song was covered by Phil Collins, which was also a hit.
😂 “so you just have bad taste in music” 😂😂😂😂😂
I absolutely love this song. It was a huge hit for her and then became iconic when the Kodak corporation used it for their Polaroid film campaign
80's pop, the #1 reason I'm a metalhead.
I love me some Cyndi. She is cute as can be and so unique
I guess he’s been under a rock

I can see that.
Cyndi lauper came onto everyone's radar when she did that song on the movie goonies 😂... I do like this song though.. nice pick for pop
LOVVVEEEE Cyndi! Ty guys. Nice drop! ☘️🇺🇲
cyndi lauper is the queen!!!!
This is not even my favorite Genre but I still love it because it is meaningful and beautiful. You might be void of feelings.

Plenty of guys listened to Cyndi back then. Most of them also had huge crushes on her too.
Hey T, never mind her, just keep rocking
🤘🏼😜🤘🏼 lol
U.S. Billboard #1 in late 1986.
Hey, try Pat Benetar Love is a Battlefield. Every teenage girl in the 80s LOVED it

It's a song about acceptance and ignoring what other people think and just being yourself.
One of my favorites from Cindy is Money Changes Everything 🙂
"I didn't like it. This song, it wasn't for me". DUMP HIM IMMEDIATELY! FOOL! This song is for everybody!😆
🤣
we love cyndi Lauper

This song was a big hit twice, first for Lauper and a few years later, Phil Collins had a big hit with it also.

Holy cow that was funny. T, you said nothing wrong. I fully get what you meant.
Id love to hear Lemmy sing this
I listen to everything from Gwar to Motzart, I agree that this song is a bit girly, not everyone's cup of tea. Love the reaction between you guys!
I like your style
i was in high school and loved cyndi lauper i didn’t care if she was a girl i never thought i couldn’t listen to her if i was a boy i listened to all genders
This song was in major commercials. If he truly never heard it, then he must not have watched TV.
Shes one of the very best RNB voices ever
This was always plate art at the prom
Loved this... but should have caught him with Time After Time
Cyndi Lauper was in wrestling
Im an old softie, i like this one.
Good ole Sir TNT just cant commit fully to The new Kids on the block. lol
Lol
We grew up with her. Going at it raw could be a little corny. He doesn't like corny. But she is an icon and we couldn't wait for her next song to break!
I listened to this as a boy in the 80s. I was part of the toxic masculinity group but appreciated this song when my friends weren’t around.
The backstreet boys was my favorite of the boy bands
You have to do Time After Time!

MTV exposed me to lot's of different songs
I’m sorry, I listened to _Girls just wanna have fun_ and I loved it, and my manhood was intact. :-)
I still, listen to that song now and then, among other fantastic music made by Lauper.
Anyone that doesn’t like this song or doesn’t find meaning in this song gives me red flag vibes. Lack of empathy.

Hard to be with someone who dislikes this song.
Dude is just a hater. I'm a 30 something year old mysoginist and I absolutely love this song. Cyndi is just so freaking cool. Please check out "Time after time". Maybe he changes his mind.
Heavy metal fan here. I love Cyndi but back in the day i was a closet fan. I suggest I drove all night.

Yes, music is for everyone but as an eighties teen I know more girls were listening to Cyndi Lauper than the boys at that time. But times have changed.
But you don’t know that lol. You just know who openly admitted to listening..
Ha ha ha I lived through the 80's.
Subbed ! nice place
At one stage she was on par with Madonna, but she opted not to go mainstream
T’s right. Young boys would rather hear Sink the Bismarck or the Battle of New Orleans.
Please check out the Housemartins Harry hour❤
This bro's got problems!!😢😢😢😮😮
Do her song Time After Time
Well we have come a long way since the ‘80s when guys were too scared to admit liking artists such as Cyndi…at least some of us have. 🤔 🤣🤣
girlfriend i love your vibe
I was seven in 1986 and I loved Cyndi Lauper, so yea little boys liked her... of course I ended up coming out gay later on but still lol.
