Oh my goodness, I loved this episode sooooo much! 🤯 Not just because Emily is my daughter but because with the help of people like Alex, her message will reach more and more women/girls etc. and they’ll be all the better off knowing this critically important information. Hmmm, I’m thinking maybe this should’ve been titled, “What your doctor will NEVER tell you”… 🤭 tee hee. So proud of anyone who dares to speak up and tell the truth. It’s long overdue. Congratulations girls, you rock! 🤩😇🥰

Love that she says raw milk is best. My daughter had the worst eczema our pediatrician had ever seen, she was on topical steroids just to make her skin not painful. Within a year of starting raw milk, and lathering her skin with coconut oil, she was completely off of her steroid and her skin is mostly healed! 🙌

My son who is now 5 was going through horrible cycles of eczema with topical cream. I decided to look online for adults who have dealt with chronic eczema and how they treated it naturally. We do oatmeal baths. It was the best thing ever for his skin. He hasn’t been on the cream for 2 years and rarely has flair ups. If he does, they are small and a few baths stop it.

I live in NC and i was buying raw milk from a local farmer and the bottles said not for human consumption. She said that because it is illegal to sell raw milk for humans in NC she has to sell it like that. But, she said to be compliant with the laws she has to sell it that way, but she is not responsible for what us as her customers do with it. Lol I just think that it is hysterical that raw milk is illegal but it’s ok to give our kids lucky charms for breakfast?? Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Where are you getting raw milk in NC? I live in NC too and I am struggling to find any place that carries it. I can find local farms or farmer markets but none sell it. I have even tried SC because I live relatively close to SC border.... If you can let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks!!!

I LOVED this episode. My husband and I I’ve been dealing with infertility for the past 5 years. I’ve gone to multiple OB/GYN‘s and fertility experts and got the same answer every time, which is “you’re fine everything looks good down there“ the same with my husband. The next step was to go on Clomid which something was telling me not to, there is a deeper problem. I took a hair analysis test this past summer and discovered that I was extremely low in certain things or too high in others and that I had extremely clear signs of hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue. I started looking more in to diet and foods to avoid and to add in and I feel a lot better. Hopefully it will lead to pregnancy soon🙏🏻

I did carnivore for 6 months and the last 2 months of that six months I also did Fast Like a Girl. It is fasting specifically for women so we maintain a cycle and feed our hormones when they need it, and fast at optimal points for health. I was pregnant by the end of that 6 months. A total of 2 years of trying. Idk if you want to try either, just thought I would share. I had the same issue, no one ever found a problem and I realized it was a nourishment issue through research. Discovered ketosis and proper fasting aid in fertility and tried both. I'll never know if it was one or the other but frankly I think Fast Like a Girl helped the most with my cycles but carnivore healed my gut and brain frog. I hope this helps

After listening to this and talking with some other women and following a naturalist obgyn I am on the right path now. BUT after watching this and doing some of the things in the mornings I haven't tried yet, I am already down 3 lbs in 3 days and feel soooooo much better! Seriously drinking water first thing and already having to work outside with livestock and not being hungry until 2 pm and drinking coffee on an empty stomach....killed me! I have 4 kids and I try to eat really well. I agree with a lot of what she says. Here is how I save money: track your cycle- temping is free, make bone broth from chicken bones (roast a whole chicken for dinner and then after you eat the meat use the bones for broth), save veggie scraps for your broth, bake your own sourdough, frozen organic fruit is a lot cheaper than fresh fruit, make your own yogurt (I buy raw milk and make my own yogurt with it), basically cook from scratch it’s so cost effective and awesome for you.

The sole reason I've been taking birth control is to skip periods and control exactly when I get it. My mood and energy still fluctuates so much throughout the month. It's worst the final week of the cycle and I feel like I can run all day at the beginning.
Guess I need to decide if controlling my period and having less of them is worth the damage it's doing to my hormones and body. I know the answer is probably to stop taking them but :: sigh :: this is going to be rough... 😞
As much as I don't want to hear this, I need to watch the rest of the episode. God give me the strength to get off this toxic med 🙏

I suffered from bloat, joint pain and swelling, migraines, vomiting after eating certain foods, and fatigue all on a regular basis. About 3 years ago I went to a naturopath doctor and she suggested I change my diet and implemented some natural supplements. I am a whole new person it has helped me with all of my symptoms. With this episode I found myself thinking finally there are people who are really understanding and digging deep into what truly is good healthy food.

As a women that attempted intermittent fasting skipping breakfast, I got results at first then staggered. When I started eating breakfast and lunch instead and skipped dinner it was life changing. It healed my hormones and regulated my cycles. Our female hormones need to know that there is nourishment first thing in the morning or else they say, "there's not food we can't make a baby" and they skip the period.

We need to learn to listen to and understand our bodies. We need to start loving our bodies the way they are naturally and work with them. I'm so glad she teaches this. ❤

Sue Becker of Bread Beckers would be an awesome interview for a different opinion on bread and gluten. She talks about the Bible and health in an awesome way, it was the inspiration for the biggest part of my healthy new life 8.5 years ago. She talks about Joseph and the years of famine, and how he stored GRAIN, which is the thousand plus year shelf stable, most nutrient rich of all foods. I tossed all my chemical makeups, lotions, etc 8 years ago, switched to Branch Basics that long ago too, back when they were working from a different iteration of their formula before they shut down production for over a year. I used to be able to get raw milk where we lived, which was awesome, and I have been grinding my own grain to make my own bread and bread products - tortillas, pizza dough, muffins, pancakes, soft pretzels, pie crust, cakes, cookies - for 8.5 years now with great success. I have had 4 babies in these years and I am healthy in my 30s!
This guest was awesome, I agree with most of but not all of what she said. I understand gluten is a problem for her particularly, but I do have a disagreement with anyone calling bad-for-everyone things that God gives us as a gift in the Bible. Also!! - you can grind grain and make break products without using gluten, if you need to, and still reap lots of benefits! I love she was talking about birth control - I never once allowed any of those chemicals into my body.
There’s actually no such thing as GMO wheat grown in the world. It was proposed and shut down years ago, no one wanted it domestically or worldwide, so the whole scheme was totally cancelled, so that was one place she was wrong. Now maybe she’s talking about processed bread products that have GMO corn / soy in them, I don’t know. But wheat specifically - heat red, hard white, soft red, soft white wheats - no GMO. @1:06:53 but I’m glad organic sourdough works for her! I do use all organic grains for my grinding and baking too.

Hey Alex, I love all the health and wellness podcasts you do! I’m in healthcare and I see all the broken pieces and at times predatory practices of the US healthcare system. I listened to your opinion about sponsors A LOT. Maybe more than I should for my wallet’s sake 😆 thanks to you we use bumroll and Aleavia in our household.
I also ordered some Nimi Skincare and used Good ranchers for a few months. I’m always a little bummed when you do awesome podcasts like this one but then have inconsistencies with your advertising of these two brands.
I stopped using Good ranchers when I found out their meats are actually GRAIN FINISHED. They try to make a case about how that’s healthier in their website. Doubtful.
Also, nimi skincare has a TON of endocrine disrupting and high risk cancer causing ingredients in their products (among them, a ton of PEGs).
Just FYI maybe you haven’t realized these things about these two products you advertise.

But I can’t see myself not feeling pain during a period. Menstrual Discs helped so much, but the pain is still debilitating. I can keel over and throw up due to the pain.

After I had my first baby, my hormones regulated so fast, where as before pregnancy they has been off for probably my whole life, I had my second baby nearly 6 months ago, my baby came 6 weeks early, I had a hard induction and my body has not been the same since! It’s been awful to deal with, and my cycles are very short now although my midwife says it’s still in the “normal range”, I don’t always ovulate. I’ve felt so stuck and I know if I go to a doctor it will be pointless. So glad I stumbled upon this podcast!

LMNT though does have natural flavors and HU just tested poorly on a heavy metal test 😭 so hard to find things that aren’t green washed but it’s SO worth being that person in the aisle! Getting off birth control changed everything for me and now I tell every girl I know to get away from it!!!

So true! I took birth control right out of high schooland it was horrible, i never felt right. I cried all the time, gained weight, sex was painful, and i begged my boyfriend for me to get off. I was naive and young and thought I needed his approval, so when he said no i obeyed. When he broke up with me I got off and bled through all of my clothes and soaked the bed. I thought i was dying. I had only been on it a year but i could not get my hormones right after. Everytime i went to a doctor they would try to get me back on it. I really felt like they were feeding me lie like you said. It always felt so wrong and they would not take no for an answer. It's so wrong.

I’m so grateful for her content and SO EXCITED she’s getting extra promo on the Spillover 🫶🏻💖🙌🏻

Alex, I would love to talk to you about rucking. If you’re going to ruck please please please have good shoes and good body mechanics. Make sure you don’t have flat feet. If you do, don’t go cheap on your shoes and get custom orthotics. Flat feet are more common in women and pregnancy cases the ligaments to relax making the issue worse. Some women in the military who ruck end up with back, hip, knee and foot issues. Excessive loading can hurt you if you’re not careful even if it’s just your child. This is coming from an ex Army Nurse Corps Officer who rucked and has children!! Feel free to ask me any questions. We had to do a 15 mile ruck march for time to pass officer training.
