Hi! I too am blind, with angle closing glaucoma. I was miss diagnosed, and paid the price. I enjoyed your video very much as I am in the market for a talking scale. I do already have a talking digital thermometer, and attacking blood pressure cuff as I have other health issues. I am impressed with both units but as for your scales I like to Taylor on the best also. Thank you for sharing this and all my best. Oh and I use iPhone and MacBook Pro for my assistive technology. Even the older MacBook pros can be made to use hey Siri in an alternative form and it works quite well! Just check out Apple and find out. I'm not an Apple fan but use it out in the Cecily take care!

The only thing I have to say about the Taylor one is if it's a glass platform you Gotta be very very very careful so that the glass doesn't crack or shatter and I wonder if there is also a recommendation for one that has a plastic platform because I had one that you should also look into called the phoenix talking scale but that one does have a defect at least the one I did where it will

Please use the term: "vision impaired" (or "vision-impaired"), as "visually impaired" might suggest there is something wrong with the way a person looks - that is to say, for example, their dress sense or sense of style. Eg. "Your outfit suggests you are visually impaired". Great video.

Is the Taylor bathroom scale that you just showed the one that can speak five different languages because I just saw one on Maxcy aids that has a that's a glass platform like the Taylor one that you just showed and it says that it can speak in German or French Spanish Greek and Croatian Cazuela's English

I had one of these once, I was dating a girl and she asked if she could use my bathroom, I heard the toilet flush, then the sink running, then I hear my scale go your weight is 100 and, immediately followed by a smashing sound.

obviously the first one is the best because the delay is short when she started speaking

Hi Hakim, thank you for the comment. It is nice to hear from you. We agree about the scale. Do you have any talking devices or adaptive type stuff that helps you be more independent? I’m always trying to learn about new devices that might help make my life easier. Thanks again, Matt

Blind to Billionaire unfortunately I don't have any kind of talking devices , but when it comes to writing and reading my emails and messages Google is your friend , actually I used Google Assistant almost in my all web searching and a lot of other things Google assistant is very very very good you can call people without touching the phone and you can look for the weathe sports results and politics news , that's what I have matt , I just have a phone that's my only torquing device and I use my computer a lot and of course contrast theme is good LOL

Hi Hakim, I really appreciate you responding to me about what works for you. I haven’t used google assistant, but I use Amazon Alexa which I think is similar. It helps so much. It’s nice that there are mainstream devices and products like that out there to use. I’m glad you found something that works for you. I would rather have one device, like a phone or computer, that does everything versus a bunch of random devices that only do one thing. Do you have google assistant on your computer? Or is it an app for your phone? Thank you, Matt

Hey Matt, I've been in the market for a talking scale and I ran across this video. It's been almost two years now since you made this video and I was wondering if you are still using the Taylor scale and if so, any more thoughts on the scale?

Hey Doug! Thanks for checking out this video. LOL, yes it has been a long time since I recorded this. I didn’t remember exactly which skills I reviewed so I actually just went and watch the video. Wow, that was painful to watch! I sounded like a robot in that video. Thanks for giving me a reason to go watch an old video and recognizing how much the channel has grown and how much I have improved since that video was filmed. LOL, that was embarrassing!
As for your question regarding the tailor scale. Yes, I do still have it and use it every few weeks. It still works exactly as shown in this video. I do like it but like I said, I only use it every few weeks or maybe even once a month. This scale is much better than the other one I reviewed in the video. It is pretty basic but yet it also has an element of quality to it. I believe I have a link down in the description that will take you to the scale on Amazon. I don’t remember the exact price but for some reason I feel like it was about $25 which is pretty reasonable. I hope this helps, thanks again Doug! Matt

There are definitely some good attacking scale options out there. I know this video was a little bit cold, but I’ll see if I can to be somewhat hopeful. If you would mind if I can use our Amazon affiliate link down in the description :-) thanks so much! MATT

I am about 220 lbs , the Taylor scale says over load every time I step on it ?. I need the talking feature I have macular degeneration

Hi! Thanks for the comment on this video. LOL, I think you are joking with your comment about the scale saying overload, that is why I said LOL. I’m glad you like the scale, I definitely think that one is a much better brand and nicer quality than the other one featured. It is nice to have a talking scale versus digital especially for us when we cannot see it. Thanks so much for the comments
