Su-Wei reigning queen of doubles. What a legendary athlete.
Great as she is, every time I watch a long rally, I 100% expect an opponent to hit to her right, straight down the double's line, with Hsieh just frozen in her feet, way inside the inner line. She's way too slow to do anything about that particular shot, with her stance being in the wrong place all the time. I'm puzzled she and her coach have not worked that out, because 90% of the free points against Hsieh is due to that ball placement.
@@kiabtoomlauj6249I mean she’s won eight slams in doubles… so I guess whatever it is, it works.
@kiabtoomlauj6249 Her record speaks for itself, don't know what you are rambling on and on about basicly nothing.
@@kiabtoomlauj6249thats the lowest percentage shot you can hit.
@@kiabtoomlauj6249i think you have a point but she makes up for it. I don’t think everyone has a perfect stance in doubles but they make do with how they play, and it’s working for her. I do see how she left the allies open and surprised they didn’t target those more.
Su-Wei should be in the Tennis hall of Fame
100%
Insane run from Hsieh 👏
Hsieh, the magician!
Day-um! Hsieh and Mertens are going to make me start watching doubles on purpose!! I sure miss seeing Hsieh play singles. She is so special!
Hsieh and Mertens are so much fun to watch!
I'll say it one more time: Hsieh, what a bloody legend!
6:47 another Ostapenko moment questioning hawk-eye 🤣
Congrats to Hsieh/Mertens
I think she needs glasses 🤣🤣🤣
@@stefanossmitty3318😂😂
I never get tired of watching Hsieh in doubles. Her touches are so deft and deadly. Always able to do something special with the ball. Lovely match. Kudos to both teams. There has to be only one winner. Better luck next time to Ostapenko and partner.
DOUBLE 👑DOUBLES👑 QUEEN of AO 2024 at 38 years old
Su Wei Hsieh deserves a great tribute 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
✨️🎾✨️🎾✨️🎾✨️
What I love about Hsieh is her grit. All her opponents are younger and serves/hits harder and all of them think they can just beat her off the court...
2 slams in 1 go.
The Magician 🪄 Strikes Again!!
Hsieh is incredible. Two doubles titles. She’s gonna get more.
two? this is her 7th doubles title.
Right, I meant now. She’s not done yet.
@@gerrysabron
@@gerrysabron He means in this AO, Hsieh won 2 doubles titles in women's doubles and mixed doubles.
@@talachastu816 if thats the premise then are there any more events in AO24.
at 38 she’s the reigning champion at RG, Wimbledon, and now the Aussie Open
Su Wei’s anticipation, feel and court sense is 🤩🤩🤩
Hsieh is by far one of the best doubles player, after taking a break for 18 months. She wins two grand slams, mixed and this one.
I love how ostapenko started all smiles and towards the end she was always annoyed face lol
winners don't like losing. Can't blame her. Good match.
Hsieh has to be a lovely person. She is so polite. In the way how she hugs Mertens, says a lot about her. Congratulations to this lady and Mertens.
Mixed dubs and women’s dubs champion! I heard she’s retiring after this AO? I hope it ain’t true! I love you Hsieh ❤
Shes retiring from singles not from dubs!
@@badmaru6699she clarified that she was only retiring from grandslam singles so she’ll be around in other singles events
She explained in one post mach interview the hardships when playing singles she needs to bring a whole bunch of professional team with her, but without sponsorship, that seems very difficult financially. It also causes stress and distraction when she played on court that may lead to injury. So that's why she decided to put on hold of playing singles. But she did not say never. I guess if there is change in financial support and with a good team, she is willing to try.
Hsieh, legit one of the most entertaining players to watch cuz she plays such unorthodox shots
Hseih at first glance looks like she cant play, but when the ball goes her way players cant tell where she places them. Other team respected her skill that they literally avoided her, crazy amazing touch ..
Ostapenko and Kichenok, girls you were amazing! Congrats to winners!
Hsieh, what a legend you are
Su-Wei is a beast ..... Just love the women and how she plays ..... Play the best go down like the rest.
India has Bopanna and Chinese Taipei has Hsieh. The 38 years old Hsieh has so far won 8 Grand Slam Doubles. It is a feat no other Asian woman player has achieved. Her unique style is based on precision and placement. There is not much power in her shots but her lobs, passing shots, angled slices, and quick hands at the net are deadly in Doubles. There is no question that her win in the AO would not have been possible without the hard and consistent hitting of Mertens - they won the Wimbledon Doubles several years back. It is hoped that they can team up again in the French/Wimbledon/US Open to see how far they can go.
Su-Wei reigning queen of doubles. What a legendary athlete. thats a Ditto! 2024
5:21 Match summarized in one point
I absolutely agree with your point. In Chinese proverb is "以逸待勞". It means to wait for the enemy to wear themselves out.
Hsieh's hands are really magical ❤
You could be a complete hacker and team up with Hsieh and still win. She's the Queen.
2 for 2!!! Go Hsieh!
Bow down to Suwei, the queen of doubles
Hsieh is a dream doubles partner for any pro players..
She is definitely in the same category as GOAT double players like Bryan Brothers, Navratilova, Hingis, n others.
Maximum effort of Ostapenko ❤
Problem with Ostapenko is that she’s not really playing doubles. She’s still playing singles out there. Her flat powerful strokes are just hard for opponents to get back, but in terms of strategy and teamwork, she’s lacking
The Dynamic Duo!
Great tournament for hsei winning mixed as well
Ostapenko finishing them off, chef kiss lol
Was that Cara black in the stands? Congrats to suwei and Elise! What a tournament for Su wei her first Australian open title!!!! Now get the us open!
Good spot! Cara is now Su-Wei's full-time coach.
@@thereynard oh wow I had no idea!
so fitting to end with an ostapenko error. congrats hsieh/mertens!
magical mystery hsieh
Hsiehtens & Hsiehlinski well done 🙂👍
She have 8 titles now including 4 in the past 9 months 🎉
Hsieh is a beast! double grand slam champion!!! congrats
It's very difficult for Kichenok to win her service games. She is not strong enough at the baseline, plus, Penko is so bad at the net.😅
Ostapenko must be a nightmare as a doubles partner.
Who else won two double titles in a tournament?
saw penko and kuch live in fw and they huge game but the other team were playing a better return game.
Hsiegician🎉❤
Hsieh/Mertens Felicitaciones !!
I think it's really interesting that despite Hsieh's slow serve yet there are no highlight reels of her opponent taking advantage of this.
In fact most hard-hitting player did not know how to take that soft/slow serve, and oftentimes result in many UEs.
If you actually watch her full matches, her opponents have a hard time returning her serve. I’ve been watching Hsieh for quite many years, and I would say about 50% of her opponent’s returns go out or into the net.
Hsieh is so formidable and such a power house in doubles.. Taiwan wins, China loses this weekend. 🤣
Lmao it looked like Ostapenko got annoyed with Kichenok midway through the second set
clearly, the friendly aura is more on Hsieh/Mertens team :)
Was happy to see ostapenko loose. She really needs to work on her attitude…
Yes! Yes! Yes! I really dislike Ostapenko
6:46 Ostapenkon tried to cheat
5:33 Kichenok was overly eager on this point
Hasn't Hsieh won like 4 of the past 5 women's doubles grand slams she played in?
Roland Garros was the first she played after taking over a year off. So she won 3 of the past 4 women's doubles grand slams.
Hsieh does it again. But this game wasn’t high quality.
Glad Ostapenko lost
wow
Close but no cigar. Bye bye miss piggy

Stadium is completely empty
As usual...sour Penko
ostapenko‘s partner is so funny! what a joke!
Ye. She can volley but not so steady in her other shots.
