Zenmarket isn't too bad but can get very expensive to ship if you want protective packaging as an warning. I won a auction for a furby and I instructed that they simply just wrap it in bubblewrap and added some cushioning to the inside of the item box to ensure that the furby didn't shake too much in shipment. (something that I theorize messed with my other Japanese furby's tilt sensor) It ended up being around $50-60 to ship and when I came home I got this MASSIVE box that was half bubble wrap. And it wasn't the regular wrap either. We are talking the big bubbles. Not going to complain because they really ensured it was protected but I was NOT expecting that much protection. A bit of an overkill but at least it arrived safe.

A few years ago I had an assignment on thrift shopping for school and one of the things I came across was that thrift stores don't get enough good quality donations for the increased traffic that they're getting from ppl like depop resellers who buy bulk and it just breaks my heart honestly! Having said that it could've changed since then but I do think that mass buying from thrift shops is a lot worse than just selling one off pieces for some extra cash, like most depop users do
I’ve bought second hand figures from Japan but have always been too scared to buy clothing/accessories so this video was very helpful! tysm!! also for light items (like figures, bows, accessories for example) I reccomend SAL (if you are ok with waiting 2-3 weeks ofc). I’ve used SAL on almost all my purchases from Japan to the US and it works out really nicely. It’s also one of the cheapest so it works out great if you are on a budget. :)

Super helpful! Definitely looking into buyee next time I thrift. I've gotten back into jfashion and dressing up again, and remembered the joy of having new pieces to coord with! I'm pretty split with the depop price hikes. Part of me considers the seller adding in the cost it took to ship/ shopping service. But partly it's about knowledge like you shared in the video! Recently I found a pricey item,& I looked thru yahoo & mercari trying to find it and didn't and searched the web for even 1 picture of it and couldn't. So in this case I feel like if you really love a piece -> go for it. Personally I go by "oh it didn't fit me / didn't like it -> i'll resell it & it can go to someone who would!"

Zenmarket is a good site because as you buy, you can build credit over the year allowing you to buy on credit and save your money to just pay it off before shipping to yourself.

I know that you can estimate how much shipping could be by putting in the weight of your order… but i cant figure out how much mine would weigh, I’m getting about 15 things including shirts, skirts, plushys, and memos.. how do I calculate it. The guide didn’t help me

what exactly do the cm measurements refer to? i'm assuming they were the bust measurements but i'm still a bit confused. and is there a place on buyee that lists the specific sizing/measurements of items? and if an item didn't list sizing specs then would you say it would still be safe to buy it?
the centimeter measurements are based on the average height the kid would be for that size, i'm assuming so 160cm would be for 160cm tall, and so on and so forth. 160cm is about 5 foot 2 inches. And since all the items on buyee are listed by individuals and not buyee itself, they don't have measurements listed so it is a case by case basis. and if sizing specs aren't listed, i would recommend not getting it just to be safe! ❤

What would be your advice for people that wear large - XL in American sizes? I know I'm larger then 160 cm but I'm not exacly plus sized either. I'm like nearing the edge with general sizes. When I get things from Asain sites I always have to get xxl stuff
I would recommend the brands I mentioned around the end, which is the 7th tip, those brands utilize larger sizing so that more people are able to wear them! 💖 So brands like Punyus, ACDC RAG, etc are awesome! Also sometimes the listing will have the measurements of the item in the description which is super helpful 👍🏼

Brands like acdc rag(which I personally love their clothes anyway) does usually one size stuff that is usually rlly big and will fit most people I think

I love spank and fancy surprise, those are some great choices! ^^ So since spank (spankshop.thebase.in/) and fancy surprise (shop.phooey.jp/) both have their own shop websites, I would recommend using fromjapan because with them you can just send fromjapan the link to the item and easily have it purchased, no ID needed. But if it is a small artist that let's just say they dont have a website, maybe they only have a twitter or a physical location, I would recommend hitting up either TenshiShop or Sunflower Seed Shopping Service because they will be able to communicate with the artist in Japanese directly and help you get exactly what you need! 💖
