I have the same exact color and model. Mine is a 2008 with about 60k mi. I had deleted the mufflers and it sounds so mean now. The torque in Sport mode is very nice. It is a very sexy car! It was my mom’s who passed away last Christmas so this car has a very high sentimental value especially since I was there when they purchased the car at the dealership.
So I was looking to buy my second car in 2024 something more luxury/just good looking for myself and when I came across the sl 550 (specifically 2007) I was hooked ofc I told my fam and they were like “oh maintenance is so expensive and oil changes and etc etc” im getting the car anyway but as the owner of the car how would you rate the reliability and just taking care of it?
well, it's interesting. our car was kept most of its life inside a building and has very low mileage. when finding this generation of SL I would suggest try to find one with low mileage and asking the owner if it's been kept inside. the only thing I would look out for long-term in the air suspension and the convertible top.
My grandfather actually purchased the vehicle back in 2007. He chose the 550 rather than the 55 due to it simply being a easier and nicer car to drive.

Renntech makes decent aftermarket parts and mods for it that would make this an even more fun car to drive.
Absolutely agree, the SL 550 is already a beautiful luxury coupe by itself, wasn't supposed to be a supercar in the first place anyways.
It does look nice but honestly since can't make it fast I really wouldn't have bothered
It’s actually a very fast car. I leave many cars in the dust from a dig except a Tesla Model S but I consider those modified golf carts, lol.
@weduhpeople8504 most cars are slow. The question is which fast cars can you leave in the dust.
Just want to add a short note when I did the 0-60 it was going uphill

I highly doubt he did any research when he bought the car and assumed it was just a SL55 without a Supercharger

I'm talking about the Grant guy. I found this video from the cars with miles server @@Destroyer995X
That navigation looks terrible haha..very outdated. Nice car otherwise, I kind of want one now.
DVD player,, Jesus don’t you know
When did I ever mention a DVD player?
This video is a joke
You can think that , but to me it's just me having fun showing people why this car is an actual good car if found with low mileage.
@@Destroyer995X Yeah, you don't have to be Doug Demuro to post a video!
Low miles and stuff already broken lol. That model is not worth saving. Is the owner bored of it lol
The car isn't broken, nothing is wrong with it. The only thing that can be considered broken are small black rubber lines on the side containers
It’s not 550-it’s SL 500
No this is an actual 550. Mercedes stopped making the 500 for 2007.
2007 & 2008 were 550 even though they didn't have the facelift mods yet.
The car will go over 160 mph
This car however is speed limited to 155 mph
Need’s service
Doesn't need service, car has not been to any Mercedes dealer to clear the codes, car has been kept very well.
