    What is your opinion sir about K tag or AVDI for ECU programming on the table ??????

    Hey Tim if your customer bought a 2006 Audi A4 that had no ECU in it were would you get the CS and Mac and power class information. He also has changed the cluster from the junk yard donor. It’s a Med9.1. It has its old Immo data but no new.

      as long as the cluster and ecu came from the same car, I would just change the VIN in both of the modules..

    Hi Tim have abrites full bmw and ep001 and ep003 can not find pin out for msv80 or msd80 81 or msd85.1 how do I find this

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  Рік тому

      abrites actually has a cable for that.. but you can just google, msd80 pinout and it will show the pinout.. just remember, when you try and read the ISN on one of these, the program reads , then erases, then programs the DME and then reads the ISN...

    When you say extra power+ and -. You put all wires together ( 3,6,5,87,92 with 16 from one) and for - (2,4,1 with 4,5 from one)?

      have been having that issue too... Sometimes leaving the ECU powered on the bench for at least an hour or two helps... I leave it powered on the bench overnight and try in the morning... Otherwise it's time to break out the BDM frame and use Ktag or Galletto...

    Is it safe to say that this can "unbrick" all MED9.1 if one had a previous backup of just the above information?

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  5 років тому

      I am not going to say that because I have seen some pretty screwed up MED9.1 ECU's... In fact last month we had one that was not talking at all, I used Ktag and flashed it with a flash from another ECU, and we were able to talk to it and then put CS and Mac and get it back working... but sometimes stuff happens and you need a new/used ECU...

    Could the pin and cs be read from 2008 Audi A3 with MED9.1 using this method? I want to avoid reading data from cluster

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  5 років тому

      should be able to... but you usually need to put cluster into service mode if you are trying to program a key to it, and you can't do that with just the pin... Why do you need the CS and Pin?

    • @minthk
      @minthk 5 років тому

      Thanks for your reply. Yes I have a lost keys situation on the Audi and tried Avdi through obd with no luck. In the past I've used xprog to read micronas and eeprom in the cluster but don't feel comfortable doing it on this car.

      @@minthk if you pull the cluster, open it up, then pull the daughter board off the back and then put it back on the main board, then hookup the cable like this video, ua-cam.com/video/Yvo8SGQapT8/v-deo.html you can short the ground pin and put into service mode, then program keys into it... We no longer have to read the 24C64 and then erase the immo data, and then write it back once you are in... SuperVag has a video about this.. Basicly what you are doing is putting the chip in boot mode, once you do that, the software is able to get it into service mode... It sounds a lot harder than it is...

    One more question. Is this connector will work for different ecu's or I have to change the pins for different vehicles?

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  4 роки тому

      It works great on Bosch ecus that have same pinout as MED9.1.. I have used it on a MED17.1, but some have different pinouts.. If you have AVDI, look in the ECU reading manual, it shows how to hookup to just about all the ECU's out there..

    How much does abrites cost and it worth buying for key, ecu cloning & tuning or not?

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  3 роки тому

      I would go to AbritesUSA.com and check out the prices... It works great for automotive keys, and adapting modules to cars.. As for tuning, it doesn't do any of that... It will read the data out of modules and write it back, but you need a seperate program to tune the data..

      @@RinorBislimi t works awesome on Bosch ECU's.. others such as Siemens, can be tough.. It all depends on which cars you want to work on.. Mercedes, BMW, Vw/Audi, it works great.. are there others that do better, yes.. but those cost about $10,000.00.. I like it because it is a diagnostic program with special functions to read and write lots of different modules...

    good Video. I have a 2007 Audi Q7 with 4.2 L that I need to get ECM swapped. would this procedure work? can I swap just a chip on board to get the car running?

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  5 років тому +1

      If you have a MED9.1, you have to either read with a program such as Abrites, or another program, then move the data over.... If you just move the 8 leg SOIC, it doesn't have all the data and you will get a CRC error... Opening up the ECU is fun too... bring your heat gun.... We do immo off on these, but to do that, you need to open case, read both MPC56 and the 8 leg SOIC, then run it thru a program such as Abrites, then rewrite both chips and put it all back together... Abrites makes it easy...
