Hey friends! What do you do to plan for your homeschool week?

My husband is off every other Friday, so we decided I would go out for coffee those Friday mornings, plan school for 2 weeks and violin lessons while he takes over homeschooling. Then I grocery shop for the week. I have been loving the productive break and the opportunity to have him more involved in school for the kids.
I use weekly planner sheets so I can chuck them when we are done. I'm notorious for starting a notebook and never revisiting it. But I do like the idea of making notes of the teacher books especially as the kids get older. I'm only teaching 1st grade and preschool now. Next year is K and 2nd.

Many people make the mistake of bringing school to the house. They copy exactly what the school does and it's missing a point. They have so many different subjects a day instead of letting the child learn what they interested in and really get into it. It's so much easier on the mum too. Britton Latulippe from Blue Manor Academy explains it really well as he attended several schools in many states including prep school and army and talks about it all. It's amazing and changed our life too.

I’m a homeschool graduate who is now homeschooling my own kids. I would have loved to have had my mom in sync with my materials all the way to the end of my schooling. It’s special that you’re prioritizing that.

This is so smart, reading ahead! I always wind up reading with the kids but this is such a good idea❤

I found that it's a lot less stressful on me throughout the week, especially if I'm really busy.

    Great video! Thanks a lot.
Can you please share more about how exactly you use the anchor charts? I have seen the other video you made about anchor charts. But what I am wondering is how exactly does it fit into the lesson. For example, if you are reading a lesson from Apologia, do you keep referring to the anchor chart as you go? It will be so helpful if I can make a video of a lesson when you are actually teaching using the anchor chart. Thanks a ton!

I’m late to the game but would love an idea of what notes you take, I tend to over complicate things and end up all tied in knots 😅

I wish I can talk with you about abeka homeschool parent led curriculum, and how you handled it for the years you did it.

Same, I'm on my second-ish year of using Abeka parent led and it's going, but would love to hear more about it 😊

My planner is my life saver. 🩷 Having everything written out and tracked.
