I love your term "Book Club" even for texts! Awesome! Veteran large family homeschooling mom of boys here, systems are my jam. I write out the list for the boys at night, to do's for next day. Life gets so busy with changes that I have resorted to nightly lists. They have their basics expected every morning after breakfast ie handwriting, spelling, vocab, independent math, Spanish. Also I've used the same themed meal plan for the last 20 years so it's a no brainer if someone else needs to cook. I thaw the meat in fridge 3 days ahead in groups of 3 if that makes sense: so Sunday I take out Mon/Tues/Wed nights' meat for supper. I shop once a week, have a basic shopping outline according to my meal plan, and I try small variations for each night to keep things interesting like adding salsa, or coleslaw or using sweet potato instead of potato. I even plan out the variations a month ahead
My husband has a chronic illness. At times it feels like I'm a single parents because he only has energy to work before he is out the rest of the day. Batch cooking helps so much. I'm learning to keep food in the freezer that's already marinated or prepared for days when I have to wear my nurse hat, mother hat, chef hat as well as teacher hat.
I’m aware of your chronic illness. I have a few of my own. I had scoliosis surgery when I was 17 and 90 percent of my spine is fused. There are times it hurts worse than others. I also have MS which is somewhat stable now. Fortunately my husband has experience with MS as his mom had it. My goal is to get my youngest who is almost 12 to be a bit more Independent. This past week I’ve started writing down lists for the next day.
Yes, thank you! I eat the Auto Immune Protocol diet, which is a bit more restrictive, but many of the same overlapping concepts. I've been on AIP since May. I feel like my gut is finally healing and I plan to try to reintroduce foods in January.
What is essential to your homeschool day?
A chronically ill mom who is making homeschool work! I’m so glad I found your channel. I especially loved the freezer meal idea. Thank you! 😃

Oh I'm so sorry, that must be so painful for you ❤️
When they were young, we’re the lists new every day? Or did you do a “dry erase” type of list?
@@michellemerritt2692 we did a new list each day either on paper or dry erase mini boards. I made it easy on myself.
Mandy, have you looked into the Carnivore Diet? People get a lot of relief from autoimmune!
