      I've embarrassed myself so many times on my channel that my skin has gotten pretty thick. Also, I get lucky on first tries with so many things. When I try to repeat that success, the second and third tries are never as good. Strange... Thanks.

    Looks Great! Very cool that you left the hammer marks. I watch a ton of blacksmith content and that is the nicest fork I have ever seen forged. Great design.

    What perfect timing. Im going for a three tine fork, spoon and butter knife. I'll have to locate the stainless. I see the round stock works great. I was thinking starting with square.

    First person I have seen eat zucchini batter pan fried, other then my Gma. Very cool. Nice fork i will have to try and make one some day.

    Stainless steel is so much more difficult to forge by hand. It has some weird properties but I still love stainless steel.

      Yeah, stainless forges weirdly for sure. I don't think 303 was ideal for this project but it works. Thanks Erik.

    As soon as I come across a piece of stainless close to that size I'm going to give that a try and if it's any good it will live in my back pack I am carving a wooden spoon and a spatula from dogwood now later I'm going to try a good sized bowel to drink from and eat out of when in the woods good job on the fork

    Pretty darn good 🍴 fork Glen! Especially for a first go at it.
    303 eh? I have been pondering a similar project, a cutlery set. Difference being my obtained Stainless is 316. Perhaps upon a Day I'll get it done. Your video has added value in a couple of areas I hadn't considered!

      I think 316 might be better. 303 is apparently high in sulfur (for better machining). Glad you like this one and I like your pic in the thumbnail. Thanks.

    never tried forging stainless. Looks like a good project to start with!

      Forging stainless is usually very different from mild steel. Doesn't move the same way, especially doesn't bend the same way. Not too different, but I can tell you that it feels very different to forge. 304 or 316, take whichever is cheaper. Cheers

      Don't be scared to forge stainless just understand that it's not gonna move under the hammer anywhere near as fast as mild steel

      Stainless is worth trying. But there are so many kinds of stainless it can be confusing. Anyway, this is a fun, useful project. Thanks vern.

    With historic reenactment; I found most forks from back then were either 2 tined or 3 tined. Then again, people ate either just with a knife and/or just with their fingers!

      I thought about purely forging the tines and so having two would be logical and easier. I might do that for the next one. Thanks Randolph.

    I would agree that stainless IS the best for that application because of its corrosion resistance. Also, stainless should be harder to work because the chromium and nickel are harder than the base iron. And... I learn something from you every time I watch! Thanks!

      Thanks for sharing Dennis. Yeah, stainless is the way to go for stuff like this (stays very hard even when forged out to very thin sections) but there are so many kinds of stainless that is can be confusing. 303 works for this but is not ideal since it contains a lot of sulfur to aid in machining.

    Yes, that is quite dangerous way to use angle grinder, although many people, me included, do it from time to time. And I still have all my fingers attached, although there was a couple close calls.
    Also, you could've drilled small holes before cutting-dividing the teeth of the fork at the end of the cuts, it would've given it a bit more flair.
    Also, next time try to bend it before separating teeth, it may be easier, I think.
