- As we start to transition to a renewable energy system, how do we make sure workers and countries are not left behind?
With net zero targets looming on the horizon, more and more countries are beginning to start phasing out fossil fuel economies. Yet, decarbonisation will also eliminate the jobs of millions of workers worldwide who rely on fossil-intensive industries like coal. It also means that countries that historically contributed so little to the climate crisis also face a responsibility to dismantle still nascent (fossil-intensive) industries, potentially at the threat of much-needed development and growth.
This episode dives into what a ‘just transition’ means, and why it’s so important for our future.

I wish these videos had the same attention as yours 10 years ago. These things are so important!
This is such an important yet overlooked topic. Thanks for covering this!
Sitting here with stage 6 loadshedding, no washing done nor ironed and on generator duty at work this week, but I'm glad to be part of this "just transition."🇿🇦
These are so well made! Great job by the creative team 🎉
Loved this. Thanks for breaking it down in this way, the visuals and graphics for this video are amazing 👏🌱
These videos are so well done! Well scripted and great visual accompaniment on a very important topic.
Without a framework that contains hard limits on carbon energy, this becomes redundant. Dollars reflect the value and productivity of oil and gas, and spending dollars into a carbon economy increases demand for carbon energy. New drilling is being done because of expected growth in demand. Growth makes the energy transition unachievable. Simultaneously increasing energy demand at an exponential rate creates a moving target, and renewable energy is only added to the mix. Plus countries are not poor, individuals are. Recent data shows greater inequality within countries in the north and south, than exists between them. The problem is not the ‘poor’, because we have to devise ways to live with less. The problem is the richest, and the financial and industrial sectors that enable their overconsumption.
Thanks for sharing and hope this video can opend mind and eye for many peopel around our glob 🌏☘️🌎🍀🌍
And what can i do about this situation in our country, Sweden???
Why is there a pepper grinder on your desk Jack?
How can all of this claim to be “just” when no consideration is given to Indigenous communities whose lands are being mined for the minerals used by “green” energy. We cannot mine our way to a clean environment!
😂😂 you mention South Africa like some kind of a example but in reality you know that SA is distancing further away from western countries, maybe BRICS will remind you where this is going...
Do an unboxing video
So basically you needed money desperately and wondered how to make them. And one day some guy came up to you and offered you to promote WEF agenda of climate change, and you've bought it. You've made a deal and now your work is to promote things that I am sure even you don't like.
Basically you've become a cheap copy of Gretta Tunberg...
What's the point. You and everyone watching this won't be here whenever anything was to happen. Just get on with your current life and stop wasting your time..
