I can't wait to watch this review in FULL!! I have been sooo close to pulling the trigger on this mic system. Can't wait to hear it. I LOVE how subtle the transmitter is.
Still watching so you might have mentioned this later in the video. How much processing did you do in post? These sound better in your video than they do in any of the 15+ other videos I have seen them featured in. I grabbed a set yesterday. Solves a couple problems over my other 3 (different models) wireless mics.
I have been using a Fulaim x5 exclusively for everything I do including video calls on laptop, etc. It’s now showing its age in battery life and I have been looking at the DJI mic mini. This is compelling enough to be considered as well. Would be nice to have a lightening pod for those of us who need not replace their legacy iPhones which do not need replacement for some time yet. The sound is excellent even with the noise cancelling on. One negative is access to the action button which seems a bit of a faff to get to - although not entirely a deal breaker.
What they have done is simply repackaged the normal clip on mic transmitter, with the electronics separated from the actual mic capsule, but still keeping it all in one piece. An obvious thing to do - but like most obvious inventions, nobody actually thinks of doing it until an engineer turns up at work and says, "I had this strange dream last night about a new way of packaging a wireless mic." Having a small piece out front and a larger piece behind might not always suit the circumstances, but it's an interesting alternative.
I found that the M2 sound quality is way better than the DJI min mini. I did a sound test the other day and was pleasantly surprised how amazing the M2 is.
Very impressive. Would love if they had more packages to choose from that differ in color (black/black, black/white, white/white) especially for wedding work. Noise cancellation seems pretty good, but honestly a feature I will never use as you cannot undo the cancellation in post whereas I can just remove background audio in davinci resolve which works almost flawlessly. Internal recording would be awesome, though given the affordable price it's not a dealbreaker for me. Great review Tamara!! :)
Great review. Even though I'd do the noise canceling in post, that first time you switched to it was remarkably clean. Very likely gonna get these. Wondering if you know whether one can listen to the audio they're recording with these on their phone? Since the receiver goes into the headphone jack. Can you listen through the receiver? Thank you!
I would say that if you want a mic to use with a DJI camera that the Mic Mini or Mic 2 are the best options for convenience, still with great sound quality. The direct Bluetooth connection is just seamless, no receiver needed.
Appreciate your coverage as always...ine question Tamara, what volume level did you record in? 1,2 or 3? I bought them as well but the android app version has volume levels 1-6, and it always defaults to 5 when turned on and they're way too loud causing distortion. I am finding level 2 or 3 is best so far but i get a fair amount of sibilence with these as well as the M2. Hollyland mics seem to struggle with sibilence for me.
@TamaraGabrielUK and yours sounded nice and clear. Im not sure if my S, SH sounds are more shrill when I speak, but there's some sibilence in mine that I don't hear on yours. Strange. Hi from way over on Calgary Canada btw!
Built to handle the loudest sounds, they claim - quoting its ability to handle 116dB. Er, that is not loud. Compare with the Rode Wireless Micro at 135dB.
this has nothing to do with sound....but you mentioned the windshield.... Uh, I use the Hollyland Lark Max sometimes and I think these guys always make the ugliest windshields out there. I might be wrong but eh, a real eyesore.
Low key the holly land M2 was already perfect. This will be the first and last time you see a mic designed with this form factor, no other manufacture will adapt to this style.
All the audio in this video was recorded using the Hollyland Lark M2S. Check it out here 👉🏾 geni.us/Pm3HK
The noise cancelation sounds very professional, really impressive 👍
Great sounding mic, very good noise cancellation and very good range, impressive.

I'v been thinking of picking this stuff up and this review is exactly what I needed..
your voice delivery is A1 - great video - thanks
Thanks!
great content. I always like watching your reviews.
I was thinking about the DJI Mini until this came out! Don’t have the DJI action camera so the Lark M2S is a no brainer

I tweaked the volume, but I also had the mic very close to mouth as it was clipped to my scarf.

you can definitely tell the difference with the noise canceling it was great
I ordered Hollyland Lark 2 Combo microphones a month ago. I'm really looking forward to them; I hope they're good.
Thank for this video 🧡
You're welcome 😊
Waiting for the Lorry hahhaha good fun
😅
Oh, did I see it right that the mobile app finally can separate the audio channels, or Hollyland still ditches that feature with the mobile connector?
That would be of interest too, but Tamara didn't mention it unfortunately. So an answer to this would be very helpful.
Awesome review homie, keep up the great work
Hi ! good video !Thx! can it be used like spy mic ?

@@Ozpeter ok.

Superb review.
Great vid, thanks Tamara!
Will the Lark M2S receiver connect easily to the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro?
Cheers
Thanks. As long as you remove the USB-C door, you can plug the receiver in.
It’s great that you can still hear the birds with the noise cancellation on
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by that.
DOPE. My next purchase.
Any sense on how well it records people you are talking with who are 3-8 feet distance from you and the mic?
It's not something I've done, so I couldn't say. Sorry.
I got the lark m2 and i still enjoy life 😊

Thanks! When the receiver is plugged into the phone, you don't have to unplug it to hear the audio from the video.
Between the clip styles do you prefer that over the magnetic style of the lark m2?
Looks very good and not as noticeable. How would you rate it against the dji mic mini. Im considering either to use with dji action 4 and pocket 3

@ id be using 2 mics in the action 4, so id be using the reciever. Thanks for the reply 👍
Ah, I see. In that case, either. They both have great quality sound.
I have the DJI Mic Mini in my shopping cart right now.... Delete! Delete! lol, love the review
what is best larkm2 or larlm2s?
😍😍😍 Excellent 😍😍😍

I tend to have mine at the high volume setting on my A7s III or medium on my iPhone.

Hi from way over on Calgary Canada btw!
5:08 do you think it’s best to do noise canceling in post or do you prefer to bake it in?
I prefer to do it in post if I need to.
@ I agree , I’m reluctant to use the lark m2 noise canceling although it does sound good 👍 I feel like I can just clean it up later
Built-in NC is handy in mics used for video calls.
@@EditioCastigata wow
I was waiting on 32 bit float. It’s sounds great but that would’ve made it perfect.
they should have done white version of this mic! Cuz its perfect when you wear a dark t-shirt , but it much visible on a white wear
great video
Very nice,,
Does it work with pocket 3?
Yes.

Maravilha 🇧🇷
-😅😅 it would be easy, to play a soung in a room and them compare it's noise cancellation,😅😅
I like going outside 🤷🏾♀️
5:48 But will it cancel the sound of children clubbing each other in the next room?!
this has nothing to do with sound....but you mentioned the windshield.... Uh, I use the Hollyland Lark Max sometimes and I think these guys always make the ugliest windshields out there. I might be wrong but eh, a real eyesore.

A bit too much top end
EQ to the rescue.
The sound quality is actually a downgrade from the M2 and it's even costlier than the M2😂😂😂😂 It's a waste product
