The last 4 minutes of this video really hit home. Ariella's questions really get to the heart of what we all perceive but have a hard time digesting when it comes to a lot of Adolph's work. Its crazy how often I say the phrase 'both things can be true' to my liberal friends and family members. The need for the moral high ground on the left has made a lot of people disillusioned with politics in this country. Politics have never been and should not be about moralism. Politics are about freedom, full stop.

Yes Ariella!! We’ve missed you! Thank you guys for this.

Excited to see Ariella! She’s one of the best talents at Jacobin, both as an interviewer and for nuanced intelligent reports (that aren’t painfully dry/monotone like so many on here). I know she has other projects but hope she’ll be a regular again soon!

...I always love listening to Adolph Reed, but I think he's exceptionally lucky to have Ariella Reed as an interviewer. She seems to me one of the extremely tiny contingent of media people who can fully comprehend, compliment, and even offer expansions and real illuminations upon Reed's words. She is one of the absolute bosses of media...

He is the real deal. And the young interviewer too. Thanks you, Ms. Thornhill and Mr. Reed.

In regards to the young lady last statement, aren’t all identities constructed?

Adolf always adds more complexity to my way of understanding of where race + class meet as well as divide themselves up, just as the video description says, with each of us having our own personal lens regarding experience + memory

Our pessimism is that the whole rabid capitalist structure will explode causing incredible damage to everyone, especially people on the bottom. The optimism is that something new can grow.
