I love how the Atari Pokey Bass switches up its PWM over the octaves so that the lower notes have more overtones and the higher notes are just straight up squares. That makes it for me the clear winner, no other basses in this demo alternate their waveform for the sake of preserving overtone-richness.

Yeah I still think the Genesis Bass is my favorite, even though Sunsoft and C64 are also very close to my heart hahah Overall they are all great bass sounds that can be used very differently and sound great when used properly! ^^
Definitely the YM2612 and 6581 The Namco bass also has an interesting bit to it that I think could have a lot of range. I just prefer YM2612 and 6581 because they stand well on their own
Having grown up with the 6581 Filter Square Bass from the C64, my initial reaction was that one. But then I heard the Namco WSG Bass. Floored the competition. That's my absolute favorite from this lineup.
1. SUNSOFT - it's beautiful. only problem is that the bits were reversed so noise :( 2. Atari 2600 - Idk why but I imagine this in some kind of horror game or something. I like it 3. C64 Square - It sounds nice but it also sounds messy. 4. Sonic 1/2 - I've heard it so many times in Genesis soundfont remixes. It's bland to me. However, when it works, it works. 5. Atari 8-Bit Computer - Basically a worse 2600 Bass. 6. Namco WSG - Not really my taste.
