Just my interpretation of the MV but you might enjoy the MV even more knowing all the Easter eggs in there. I think the dark clouds in the beginning depict their struggles early on, almost getting disbanded by management. Misa almost laying down her pick I thought was a reference to her almost quitting in the early days. Kanami punching the wall in tears was an incident in the very early formation when Miku and Saiki showed up very late for practice and Kanami cried because she thought they weren't serious about the band. Then Miku, going hard on playing Thrill by herself a reference to the long hours of practice she had to do to learn how to play and how that song Thrill saved the band and she turns into a pigeon and they start to take flight. The maids flying across the sky in bright sunlight a reference to their numerous successful world tours, finally landing triumphantly on a Western US desert mountain which I thought was a reference to their 2019 tour of NYC, Dallas and LA. However, they haven't planted their flag at that point. They are soon engulfed in black smoke again, which is the Covid pandemic, which pretty much happened not too long after they got back to Japan from that US tour. The next scene with them looking dejected in the studio was perhaps about the cancellation of the Budokan concert due to the pandemic, but then they start playing again with their online shows and the people are watching from their homes on their computers. The transformation to the super heroes may be a reference to Sailor Moon that Saiki always says is her favorite Anime growing up. In the final scene, back to the Western US mountain, I think is a direct reference to the upcoming US tour, but this time they triumphantly plant their flag, claiming Domination of the US. By the way, that Zemaitis guitar Miku is holding at the end is her signature guitar called the Flappy Pigeon and the details in the animation is so dead on.
I wonder if Wave Potter was right when he said that this was about not being able to tour because of COVID. The black cloud not only isolated each member but also covered the world. Both your theory and Wave's are valid. Maybe a bit of both. I'm seeing Band-Maid on Oct 21, Pigeon's birthday in Dallas. Can't wait.
The guitar from MIKU you are seeing is her own Zemaitis guitar... Zemaitis did an signature model for her. Just look at Flappy Pigeon, it is an GORGEOUS guitar! Limited to 50 guitars at the moment
When i win the Euro millions lottery i'm making my own B-M anime movie. Oh yeah & my Rockumentary cos Netflix are showing no signs of fronting me the 750,000K.😔
Apparently Kanami is using some crazy effects pedal to get that sound. I can't remember what it's called. You aren't the first reactor to be reminded of Demon Slayer either. Everything MISA does is pure gold. 😄
Dicodec was telling that was a eventide harmonizer pedal. It seems that Kanami has gotten the hang of playing two to four guitars at once with the device.
Band-Maid of late has this certain phenomenon thing going regarding their more progy-punk hard rock and Anime written tunes. These songs are hard, complex and will totally grow on you like a thousand pound R&R leach. The Maids in this format are relentless and powerful. Unleash will, in my thinking, be their new opening song for their upcoming tour. Maid Music will continue to grow on you until you succumb in ecstasy to its brilliant and undeniable forces. 💥🎀💥 Thx, RdR
Ok, you weren't as distracted by the music video as I was, I guess. 😁There's a ton of easter eggs in there if you know what to look for. Everything from the new maid outfits they are wearing at the end, to each member being on a different set from various past music videos and so much more. Thanks for reacting to 2 of my favorites bands. Cheers!
I've never been so distracted by the visual of Band-Maid MV before. There are too many Easter eggs in this MV, and I couldn't pay attention to the song itself until after several listens.
Goes along with including interviews with the oft-mentioned "Staff" in the UW scorebook, and parallels the rock phenomenon of "the Xth band member" e.g. iirc the Stones' road manager.
The studio that animated this MV was Studio Eight Colors, not the same as Demon Slayer (Ufotable). I do agree Saiki looks quite a bit like Nezuko in that still. If you look at before the Maids get taken by the darkness, they are all in a previous BAND-MAID MV, which is an awesome Easter egg.
Anime Saiki does look similar to Nezuko with her pinkish eyes and yaeba teeth. I wonder what Saiki's Blood Demon Art would be? Surely something with her incredible vioce. This reminds me, have you listened to BAND-MAIKO yet? It's BAND-MAID's side project that started as an April fools joke. They have taken older songs and mixed in traditional Japanese instruments. 'Secret MAIKO Lips' is a good song to start with. 👘
So, pretty sure the dark cloud is COVID and the story is about their struggle to stay positive even though all their concerts had been canceled and they didn't get to spend time together. At the end it was screw this, we're gonna blast through the darkness and keep making our music. Things were going really well for them when COVID hit. I bet they worried that their careers had been cut off right when they seems so promising. I think the stars and the fans watching them remotely represent them coming out of their funk and finding new ways to be creative and reach listeners.
That triplet seems to be Miku, ala Blackhole intro, Po! Arigato, Kanami sensei! Btw, can we say Sailor Maid! P.S. that's Miku's signature Zemaitis "Flappy Pigeon," Po! How's about some Aristocrats.
One of the very few Band Maid songs that I didn't really like. Does not happen very often. If you want to hear Kanami show her guitar hero side the mv Blooming is outstanding
Why are there 5 exclamation marks in "UNLEASH!!!!!" ? Actually, when there's 5 Rock Goddesses in front of you 5 doesn't seem to be enough. Mincho is blasting her way thru another one. Is there enough effects gear to keep her happy? 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💜💙💚💛❤😍😍😍😍😍🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰
Good review thank you by the ay the guitar that Miku plays is a Zemaitis FLAPPY PIGEON her own custom model The lead Guitarist Kanami plays a PRS custom 24 she has a few of them the unusual effect you referred to is through a pedal she uses for more information on this song please check out Wave Potter on U Tube he has done A very detailed Breakdown of this song. BAND-MAID 'Unleash!!!!!' MV Breakdown! Easter Eggs and Details You Probably DIDN'T Miss! (But i did)
It's the Maids battle against Covid.

Excellent synopsis of the video!

Limited to 50 guitars at the moment
Iirc the initial production was 54 and then they did another 50 something because demand was so high 👍
Wait until they perform this live!
Miku's guitar is her own "Signature Guitar" from Zemaitis called the "Flappy Pigeon".

ill help lol. been a while since ive done animation for outside of games but you never lose it i guess
I've got an outline for at least 3 episodes of a Band-Maid anime. 😄So if there are any artists interested...
This MV is loaded of easter eggs, I love it.
Somebody needs to do a "Pop-Up Videos" version for newcomers.
5:27 The flappy pigeon!

@@JuanSan66 Yes that sounds right. Thanks for adding that. 😃

BAND-MAID weekly Anime... NOW!!
It's so cool to be mentioned so prominently in a BAND-MAID song!
🤘😁🤘
Ha ha! Yep!
This is such an awesome song and anime. I love the flask on Misa's leg and when she was taking a swig. Absolutely priceless.
if you havent already check out their description. they do a good thing and list all of the artists who worked on this

RockdaRiff -- I believe you're gonna want to know the Maids names at some point:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, Vocals, Lyricist
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead Guitar, Keyboards, Main Composer
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums
MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass
Anime Saiki does look similar to Nezuko with her pinkish eyes and yaeba teeth. I wonder what Saiki's Blood Demon Art would be? Surely something with her incredible vioce.
