Even if they boycott the National Assembly, they have only 58 seats.
According to the law, only 133 MPs n the N/A, can elect a sitting president and other positions to govern. Let them boycott and go to courts for re-counting or re-election. We are very exhausted of treats and violence. Our country needs stability ,peace and governance. Our people have suffered enough to be where they are today. We need a smooth democratic transition to continue governing this beautiful country❤.

Parliament has 400 seats and MK has 57 seats, if the MK boycotts parliament sitting it will not matter because with 343 members attending parliament will form a quorum so their boycott is NEITHER HERE NOR THERE

Lets face it, MK doesn't want to go to parliament because they don't have enough people in their structures to fill those seats.

this is why some say that many EFF members silently voted for MK and stand with MK on policy matters, because the childish behaviour of boycotting the assembly is so reminiscent of past EFF antics in parliament. Hopefully this election has matured the EFF leadership.
For the issue is simple. MK does not want to be seen to be voting either for Ramaphosa or anyone from the DA or any other party, so it is trying to safe face-nothing more, nothing less because it's absence won't stop the business of parliament or election of the president. From there it will say I never voted for so and so.

Specifically, only a third of the members need to be present for the vote to be valid.
If the boycotting members are not sworn in, the National Assembly has the authority to strip them of their membership, and they could potentially be replaced by other members from their party. This means that the Speaker's election and other parliamentary proceedings can continue without the presence of those 58 members, provided that the quorum is met. The Constitution ensures that the functioning of the Parliament is not hindered by the absence or boycott of a minority group of members. we are going to have problems here with MK
