Great clip, yes old fashioned by todays commentary standards but its over 60 yrs ago, uk not long out of post war austerity and rationing etc. Mary Rand was totally professional in her attitude while still being an amateur. Her fellow athletes eg ann packer knew how special she was. The routines shown here are full on.

Amazing athlete. Her long jump technique is perfect. It’s very hard not to fall backwards when landing. She manages to fall forward. She has great discipline and control.
