I seen the Gubby lots & lots of time operating out of Manchester years ago! I miss those day of 707's, DC-8's, 1-11's, Trident's, 737-200's, IL-62's, TU-154B/M's, TU-134s, Concorde & many more noisy classics
You can beat the Boeing Stratocruiser. Boeing & Airbus!!
    Thanks for watching!

It now resides in the South Wales Aviation Museum, I went to have a look at this exact one today there and all that's left is the full cockpit with all avionics intact, and the front with number one on it. Quite a spectacular thing!

I've been catching up with whats going off at Bruntingthorpe, it's terrible 😞😞😞 No more taxiing aircraft, no more open days, aircraft laying to degrade 😯😯

There's no mention of that Guppy on their website, no pictures either ? Can only presume it must have been stripped down & ferried to the museum but must be in storage somewhere ?? Can't have been scrapped surly it holds a piece of aviation history.

Takes me back to days aircraft spotting at Manchester Airport. Amazing how they could fly. I believe landings on icy runways were a bit hairy.

One of 5 built. 1 remains in service, the other 4 are on display in various parts of the world, including this one.

The Aviators unfortunately I’m not old enough to have that pleasure, my uncle watched this one land in ‘96 when he worked there!

Indeed, would love to see her fly again. Seen all 3 Generations of Airbus transportation - Guppy | Beluga A300 | Beluga A330XL - that would be some sight all 3 in formation together.

WTF, is that THE ugliest aircraft ever. How do them tiny props pull it along and the tiny wings create enough lift?
