I think gen 9 an absolute banger aside from the technical issues and some just plain ugly 3D environments. GF got so many things right in this game and I enjoyed it for nearly 100 hours, despite obvious flaws. I don't mind most of the glitches, I think it's fun to break the game a little bit on purpose and get to areas you are not supposed to be yet. I'm also excited for the DLC and the new areas that will be added. Exploring freely, finding secrets and catch Pokémon is just great, that's what I loved about gen 8 already. If GF can build these kind of games on a stronger technical foundation, add interiors like in previous titles and incorporate more of the player feedback, then they are right on track for an awesome gen 10.
Well said. Hopefully they keep this up and dedicate their time and resources to fully focus on the bigger projects at hand. Glad to hear you enjoyed this generation!
DLC Items im hoping for Story Line: Graduation Ceremony More Clothes Introduce a Battle tower parallel Introduce tie in with kalos/Galar Let Scarlet travel to the Future and Violet to the past and meet new version exclusive paradox pokemon Ability to buy drop items (not neccesery put i dont want to farm them) Move Tutor Hint at new battle mode (return of triple/rotation Battles from GEN 5?)
I'm in game design and a lot of the discourse has been about how the team's future has been uncertain so they've had fewer resources to dedicate to pokemon. The fact we got a game THIS GOOD is amazing and I think people are being way too critical. Most glitches I've had in 250 hours has been either funny or only slightly annoying. I'm so proud that they got this one right, it's the first gen I've genuinely loved in a loooong time
It's ridiculous that people justify shinies not making sounds literally making it impossible to see for a good portion of the world population. I'm positive it was an oversight and I wanna hope it is
Due to the overlap of production between PLA & SV the feature didn’t make it in. Was just a development issue. Hopefully it comes back as a permanent feature for future games!
Having a shiny make a sound in Pokemon Legends makes the game more unique for that title. Having no sound kind of makes it more fun in SV because you don't know if you walk past a shiny or not making the reward more satisfying when you do find one. Just like the original main series games you wouldn't find a shiny until you got into a wild battle. I really enjoyed gen 9, the only minor thing for me was the frame rate, but everything else including the glitches was fun for me. Reminded me of the old days with Red and Blue and the bugs they had lol.
Gatekeeping shinies from color blind people doesn’t really make it fair nor fun without a shiny sound effect in the over world. I can see how it can be fun without it but there would need to be a feature to enable folks that are colorblind to be able to shiny hunt effectively in the wild in my opinion.
I agreed. And also in Legends the spawn for wild pokemon are fixed, so the sound matters But in SV the spawn is always generated to a fix number every movement
@@BigNation1 I see where you are coming from, but I do believe that to see are ways to work around that (e.g. accessibility settings/ colour blind modes) which could help colour blind people differentiate shinies better, and I don’t think playing a sound is the only way to solve the issue and I think the game is better without it overall. Additionally I do not believe that the Pokémon company are intentionally trying to “gatekeep” shiny Pokémon from colourblind people, as it is just a byproduct of the feature being removed, and the same argument can be made that only playing a sound when they appear can be preventing people hard of hearing from finding shiny Pokémon.
If Pokemon insists on coming out with a new mainline game every 3 years, and not enough developement time is the problem, then the obvious fix is to hire twice as many staff and have half them work on the storyboard and basic design elements of Gen 11 while the oher half work on the finishing touches for Gen 10. The reason hiring more hasn't worked out for them thus far is because they're all still working on the same game. It's like working at a busy pizzeria that's struggling to keep up with demand so they double the oven temperature in an attempt to cook pizzas twice as fast. The more logical thing to do is buy a second oven so you can cook twice as many pizzas at a time.
In theory this could work but I wonder how effective this can actually be when they ultimately have to focus on other projects along the way. Hate to think they rush these things out even after a supposed divide in staff. We just need more time given to solve these issues.
You’d think that with bigger games, they’d prolong deadlines further. Square Enix actually takes ages to make their games but usually end up making amazing games. Nintendo should learn from that.
SV is so close to being the greatest. I just needed some more time in the oven. Iron out the bugs, optimize the game, and so on. It is so close. The developers needed just a month or two more.
All I’m gonna say is this. For the longest time I said they haven’t got enough time to work on the game. But everyone was saying “they’ve been working on it since SwSh” MAN BULLSH*T. And look what everyone is saying now 😂 “the developers need more time” I LITERALLY said if the game has 1 or two years for production then don’t expect much and it’ll be glitchy. Guess what happened? Glitches galore 😂
I think there’s a misconception here you’re having. It’s highly likely if not confirmed that SV was developed during SwSh era. Alongside being produced with other games I also mentioned. Yes they need more time, many have come to agree on this over time.
Based on the patterns of generations and consoles, (about 2 generations per console) this is likely going to be the last generation of Pokemon games on the Nintendo switch which means better hardware for a better game But going off of the first new generation on a new system (3ds had xy, switch had swsh) The 10th generation of Pokémon games might not be the greatest Just a theory tho
Despite being quite the broken game, there's so many good elements in Scarlet/Violet. *sigh*... wish it got just a bit more time in the oven to become truly fantastic.
@@BigNation1 absolutely awesome love playing it with my boyfriend were not even past the third gym we play it so little unfortunately but eh it’s great
Everyone pray for a successful Generation 10
Yes where everything works properly, even the performance

Definitely worth the watch

Hint at new battle mode (return of triple/rotation Battles from GEN 5?)
Love these on the wishlist. Hopefully we see some of these come true!

I really appreciate the insight on this! Glad you enjoyed the game!
One time I encountered an Iron treads and its model just ballooned to ludicrous sized for no reason. I thought they got rid of dynamax man

@@BigNation1 i mean at this point the issue could be patched in then, no? I'm hopefu
The thing about this game is that prior to tracking down the HM Pokémon can often spawn in areas you can't reach.
You should have seen the amount of shiny Pokémon clips that were unable to be caught because of the area limits. Lol

I do agree with there being no sound, but I think there should be overworld shiny sparkles, since there's so many super subtle shinies in this game!

We need that change to their deadline agenda asap!

I would argue it needed at minimum another 6 months tbh
If only Pokémon could just have more time developing their games.
I only wonder how they’d turn out!
Too they can’t afford to hire more developers, it’s not like Pokémon is the biggest ip of all time

Bro, we have confirmation it began development in 2019. Every Pokémon game for a while has had a 3 year dev cycle
if they improve the battle AI and pokemon (an of course, return set mode) it would be great....
I’m surprised they removed set mode.

Agreed, this game was ambitious in so many ways. Hopefully the next title polishes out everything to make it yet another memorable experience!

Actually the negative reviews are the thing most disastrous. GameFreak is bad at not going back on cool things
Perhaps that will change with upcoming titles!
