By far the most important thing to remember with Precious Scars, imo, is that it doesn't just give YOU Restoration x1 for 3 seconds, it gives it to you AND to all allies in 15 meters, which is incredibly good if you want to pursue a support titan build, especially when combined with something like Banner of War and Into the Fray, for even further healing and applying Woven Mail to allies. Another note on it is that there is no cooldown on the proc, if you get another weapon kill the moment the 3 seconds are up, you get Restoration again, so there's really no point in running PS on Solar if your only reason for doing so is the extension of the buff. Currently my two favorite uses for PS are Banner of War (for ultra team support) or Stasis (for lots of CC and ability uptime), but I have also tried it with Arc and it definitely improves survivability for it quite a bit, though I haven't come up with a full Arc build yet.
As a Warlock main gone Titan main I've never felt so included in a video from Datto ever before. There's a build I used previously with Severance Enclosure that utilized a lot of Void aspects and it was quite strong there already, so I'm very excited to see what this buff will do to that build
Datto I HIGHLY recommend Severance Enclosure on void. I have personally been using a void-based build using Bastion and Controlled Demo with Echo's of Starvation, Cessation, Undermining and Obscurity. Used this in GM's last season. In devils lair I ended up walking around finishing things in the defend the ghost room while my friends stayed by the train just popping things with wish ender. You have constant on demand invisibility you have constant healing from void explosions and devour, your finishers make everything volatile. Its a very very fun build!
I cannot express how happy I am with Precious Scars changes - I had wanted the heal to be brought inline with solar 3.0 with it being changed to cure, but resto is so much better! Finally, I can play the power fantasy of being a Paladin vs being a Brawler.
Yeah for now I've swapped from Phoenix Cradle to Precious Scars while I try and get used to this new Sunbreaker update. I like it, it lets me play similarly supportive, and I honestly feel really effective using weapons, and I hardly use abilities for killing small enemies anymore. It's a nice new feeling, though I'll definitely be going back to Cradle eventually because it's just super cool, heheh.
im gonna miss using hammers to just bonk down the health of enemies with higher amounts of health like minotaurs, that hammer was like an infinite shotgun
@@lazeatscrayons2426 get yourself a Trench Barrel Shotgun or two or three and practice Shotswapping. I think that might be the best bet for high dps on Bonk Titan now.
Two notes since I have experience in the buildcrafting area, I made Wormgod and Severance Enclosure builds before the buff. 1. D1 had this Solar perk where getting a melee kill refreshed your melee ability, I would used to it consistently one-shot things like Hobgoblins as the bonus damage would allow that. When I found out the Roaring Flames received this bonus in some capacity through the fire-on-normal punch bonus, I immediately made a Wormgod build for it. The thing that I recommend trying out, at the extreme disappointment of my more optimal friends, is shoulder charge. The pierce-through makes it excellent for ad-clear and with a relatively quick uptime you can make use of it a lot more. Pair it with a one-two punch shotgun for those extra chunky targets. The build is increasingly viral, you have to feed to get the buffs rolling, but with Roaring Flames working as a backup damage booster you don't feel the pressure of Wormgod so much. Will note that I do not run Consecration but rather Sol Invictus for more healing and Sunspots when engaging enemy clusters. 2. I need to rekit the build for the current mod system but I used to run Severance Enclosure on Void Titan. The build cycle was pretty simply, use a charged melee, then a finisher to regen the melee and repeat. This would obviously rip your Super energy but it was only an 8th every time so not too bad. Friendlies would receive health since melee kills on that Defender tree would grant it and I would receive overshield for the melee kills in addition to the overshield granted while using Finisher. The one unique thing that people don't talk about Severance Enclosure enough is it's crowd suppression ability, knocking enemies into the air with every hit. I think the optimal way to play Severance Enclosure is actually as a CC/support role, so kitting into Throwing Shield to remotely bounce enemies might not be a bad play. The trick would then be getting good uptime for your shield throws. Monte Carlo did the trick if the Finisher wasn't necessary at the time.
Don't forget that knockout/roaring flames/offensive bulwark normal melees also count as powered ones for severance enclosure, making it even better on the light subclasses.
My only complaint is that the 20% increase to tracking for Throwing Hammer means I get to watch my hammer swerve midair only to miss anyways. 20% increase to 1 equates to 1.2
For the hammer, talking about adjusting the cool-down based on how far it was thrown or how long it was on the ground, if the cool-down began after you throw it instead of picking it up it would do all that perfectly.
Tip for strand Titan mains, as this I believe is one of the best versions of the “Strand Titan build”: Monte is not the only great option for melee regen. Try using a Mikael’s Reverence with Pugilist/Hatchling, and the fragments: more threadlings on gun kills unraveling rounds on melee kill orb = woven mail last is up to you (threadling boost, melee energy on tangle hit, etc) but i’ve been using “strand gun kills with woven mail spawns tangles” for more tangles. Aspects are obvious, but Banner and Fray. And please use grapple melee, NOT shackle, as you do not need the suspend. Plus, then you get another melee (and grapple melee just does more, plus unravel)
Dorvarich had a Severance Enclosure build at the beginning of Lightfall that just got so much better. It’s on void with volatile explosions stacking with the SE explosions.
This build is crazy on enemy dense environments. I tried it on Master GotD and it was a beast in the second encounter. There are so many benefits that it becomes unkillable and chainable off of one kill if anyone survives.
btw datto for severence (or anything that needs charged melee) you can use a uncharged if you have the right setup, those being having knockout, having woven mail, having a void oversheild, having roaring flames
I found Sentinel + Peregrine Greaves to be very convenient and consistent on the final boss of the new dungeon. You can one-shot the yellow bar scorn guys as they spawn, and have time to immediately capture the little taken totems just before the immune guys spawn. For them, you can punch them as they spawn to transfer the debuff and immediately jump away, leaving them no chance to return the debuff to you
I did a few runs of the T3 Blind Well and a Nightfall with my Loreley-Bonk titan, and my only gripe with the cool down ATM is missing a throw, then having to run over to grab the hammer, because the added 1.4 seconds actually killed me a couple times.
As a void Titan that used almost exclusively severance enclosure for a finisher build, i always thought it was plenty strong before but now it’s made it my favorite build with that extra bump of damage. Didn’t think it needed a buff at all
Wormgod's is really good with Banner/Flechette Storm, if you send the first volley of Flechettes into a pile of ads it insta charges to max and then obliterates most things with the remaining 5 volleys. Of course, it also feels really good with glaives.
a little late, but i've been enjoying wormgod with vexcalibur on a void titan, using controlled demo, offensive bulwark, and the echoes of exchange, instability, starvation, and cessation. the echo of exchange grants grenade energy on glaive melee kills, so you get to really go wild between devour and the giga overshield uptime on vexcalibur. controlled demo for healing and crowd control is cool, and pairs really well with the echo of instability on vexcal since you can pop a shot into a major or something and start whacking. everything around you will explode while you beat this thing into the dirt.
I dont play destiny anymore im sure ill come back to it at some point but i still like to watch your vids and stop by the streams every now and then to see what the games like these days and see whats good and such.
I did not come up with this build, but it is really good right now. Void titan with severance enclosure with controlled demolition and offensive bulwark as the two aspects. Fragments are changeable except for the invis finisher one and the volatile finisher one. I use either vexcalibur or the mini bubble glaive for easy overshields. You can trigger severance enclosure off of your finishers to get invis and make everything around you volatile. You can also trigger severance enclosure off of melees while you have an overshield bc the game counts that as a powered melee. I've had a lot of success with it in legend and master content, the survivability is great
Honestly, seeing Precious Scars get so many nice touch-ups feels really good. I can't really test it out right now, but I used to LOVE using it with Stasis Titan and Ager's during I want to say season of the lost when it got the healing effect, it felt really good to have that extra bit of survivability while using Stasis. Now with Restoration, I know it will probably be a lot better in Solar due to Empyrean, but having that extra bit of healing ON TOP of it will definitely be felt. Edit: ALSO PEREGRINE CHADS EATING SO GODDAMN WELL LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Precious Scars seems pointless on solar titan to me. Sol Invictus/healing nade already gives restoration x1. Using your exotic slot to get restoration x1 on a solar weapon kill just sounds terrible tbh I will say though, I've been using Precious with Agers on stasis and it feels really good. Rime was nerfed to the ground, so Precious Scars is stasis titan's main way of healing now. Resist from standing by crystals or frozen targets plus restoration is real nice
@@jonahbrown5669 Completely fair, and that was actually one of my first reactions when the Solar revamp came and Precious Scars became just kinda icing on a flaming cheesecake. It was still decent on other subclasses for the smidge of healing, and when I had to play essentially titan support for my friends in higher-levelled content, but I can definitely understand the overkill portion of that. And I mean, it's not like solar titan currently *needs* more options, (the Consecration exotic from last season feels GOOD, Severance now looks to be a neat option, Sunfire is something, Phoenix Cradle... Loreley is still pretty good) especially not in the survival category. Unless you just unequip sunspots, in which case... yeah, go ahead.
For bonk titans running roaring flames. Roaring flames uncharged melee applies a decent amount of scorch and with apply radiant (given the aspect). So for a combo you can go hammer, fist, hammer, fist, and some shotgun thrown in there.
A highly underrated combo is Precious Scars + Vexcalibur on void titan. Use Controlled Demolition plus Offensive Bulwark and for fragments I like Persistence, Starvation, Cessation, and Instability. The glaive shield allows for easy revives and the overshield granted from blocking synergizes super well with the area healing from scars. Basically just stand near teammates to make everyone super tanky. Use your grenade when you have it for volatile rounds on Vex, which creates void breeches to also have Devour.
I loved pairing precious scars with tommys matchbook last season, and im loving it more now. Keeps me alive even better so i never am in trouble while rattling the enemies in my dapper mafia drip
@@Dugfhgff if you are using tommys I think scars would be the better choice. your basically getting healing constantly, while lorelei only gives you with when you are low and when you cast a baracade. both are Restoriaionx2 so thats no difference. difference is the uptime. Plus I know Scars also used to do a burst of healing to heal allies as well. I've only done solo stuff atm so not sure if that healing burst is still there, or if thats also a party wide restoration spread. if it is then thats even better for group play EDIT: According to the text it grants restoration to allies... so you basically can keep your whole team alive with scars now constantly
Regarding 17:35, I actually just got done checking up on my (PvE) Titan builds today. They’re not all master-content or gm-level of crazy, but I don’t care because they’re fun. I’ll keep it short and sweet (unless folks ask for specifics) Arc w/ Coldheart + Armamentarium Solar w/ Tarrabah + PoBS Void w/ Wastelander + NBP Stasis w/ Other Half + Strongholds Strand w/ Final Warning + Abeyant Strand w/ Vexcalibur + Synthos Solar w/ Polaris + Peregrines Void w/ Wish-Ender + Ursa Stasis w/ Wicked Implement + Lancecap
I've been playing my bonk titan, and yeah the timer is noticeable, but you can still go nuts with 1-2 punch -> hammer -> 1-2punch -> Melee -> repeat till thing dies. Been serving me well in the dungeon on normal for quickly dealing with the mote screebs and any of the powerful boys that make the pylons. outside of just trying to max out damage, hammer->punch->repeat is the new muscle memory for me, and in normal content I'm feeling a little more vulnerable and a little less godlike, but not by much. Plus now if I do it for 3 cycles they explode, which is neat!
Bungie has been kicking us in the nuts since the beginning. I’m supposed to be a rhino of melee. Not a in the rear with the gear guy. That is for the skirt wearing warlocks.
Sect of Force giving a pretty decent reload/handling buff now, giving titans access to a nice 'gun haste' buff that otherwise would only have came from subclass specific features or rally barricade. I know its not Titan specific but because we don't have an Ophidian Aspect or Dragon Shadow type handling/reload buff exotic I think its worth noting!
Ive been keeping with my Stronghold Lament build from last season. The Banner of War nerfs are actually buffs because my biggest issue was uptime, now thats even easier and on top of that, Lament + the artifact has been feeling amazing.
Im not sure if its a bug, but severance enclosure, from what i have seen, has a funky reaction with strand tangles, and just nukes everything around where you throw your tangle
I'm glad other titans had the same idea about improving the hammer cooldown. Kinda sucks when you have to run across a room or double back cause you thought you got the hammer and then STILL have to wait to use it again
3 seconds of restoration on every matching class weapon kill is a full 105 HP. That's pretty damn good if you manage that with high damage resist or overshield uptime.
I play Severance on my Titan like i play my Voidlock with Felwinter. Finishers do volatile burst and with Severance explosion, either kills and/or chips surrounding enemies health enough for chain finisher explosions. Run Prox Ward mod on mark armor for overshields during finishers, Offensive Bul and Controlled Demo aspects, Echo of Leeching, Undermining, Cessation Vigilance (for consistent void overshields), Expulsion (MOAR EXPLOSIONS), Obscurity (to find opportunities for chain finishers when available). I also run Ros Arago IV with Repulsor Brace and Onslaught for chip damage and /or for kills after finisher.
Something to keep in mind with precious scars is you don't need sunspots while using it, so you can get that beefy consecration stacked with roaring flames AND keep the healing thanks to precious scars, been really fun
Haven't really tried out the other exotics, but what I did do is transition almost 100% from solar to strand because solar just doesn't feel the same in harder difficulty activities.
I've been knocking around with Synthoceps and while the hammer change is a real bummer, the fact it now works with glaives is fantastic! kelgorath is a great fit, and there's a Stasis Aggressive Glaive coming in Dawning. Precious Scars I tried out using Rufus, Tellelation and the Seasonal Strand sword (Unrelenting Chain Reaction) and it's been a blast. kind of like the old Agers Scepter build, just melting stuff at midrange while staying alive. Quicksilver & Eremite is probably also a good combo based on seasonal artefact stuff
The previous scars change is something I wanted when thinking about the 3.0 subclasses and keywords. I’ve been really enjoying it so far. Got a battlefield murder medic thing goin on.
Ive been running the chain reaction strand sword with sword guard exotic on banner titan. You can’t die it’s literally ridiculous. Restoration, insane sword guard, banner, and woven. Toss a 1-2 punch shotty in there and you can kill anything
They need to make Actium War Rig increase the fire rate of Auto rifles and Machine guns when equipped. Its not strong enough as it is since it gets almost Zero use. It would play into the Titan fantasy and would just be fun in general.

Currently my two favorite uses for PS are Banner of War (for ultra team support) or Stasis (for lots of CC and ability uptime), but I have also tried it with Arc and it definitely improves survivability for it quite a bit, though I haven't come up with a full Arc build yet.
I’ve been running it in PvP since last season with a heal clip abyss defiant and the navigator lmao
Whats your stasis build, im curious🤔
im pretty sure there is a cooldown for precious scars but it's like half a second at most
The best buff to Precious Scars Bungie could have done was giving it a better ornament
As a Warlock main gone Titan main I've never felt so included in a video from Datto ever before. There's a build I used previously with Severance Enclosure that utilized a lot of Void aspects and it was quite strong there already, so I'm very excited to see what this buff will do to that build
I love Datto trying to tell titans bad news like they're children
They are children
They eat crayons lmao
They are
Most titan mains are either dads or beginners, because of how braindead easy and good their kit is
@@owendrunglecan’t be saying that with how easy warlocks are my dood, no one class is easier than another
Severance enclosure should be an elemental explosion that matches your subclass that spreads the vergs, jolt volatile and scorch
Titans be on suicide watch after this last update. Datto captured that perfectly.
The hammer cooldown was the equivalent to being kicked in the nut by a toddler. It hurts but not life threatening
Banner is fine for me but the occasional Stasis Syntho build I have is screwed for the time being until I find a way to adapt
Severance enclosure on bonk hammer has been surprisingly fun. Definitely a good option for general run around and explode stuff.
Don't forget that knockout/roaring flames/offensive bulwark normal melees also count as powered ones for severance enclosure, making it even better on the light subclasses.
Thanks for the check up Datto. It's been hard coping with that 1.4 second delay lol
Missing a hammer should not put it on a 1.4 second cooldown. It doesn't do anything but kill your entire momentum.
Tip for strand Titan mains, as this I believe is one of the best versions of the “Strand Titan build”:
Monte is not the only great option for melee regen. Try using a Mikael’s Reverence with Pugilist/Hatchling, and the fragments:
more threadlings on gun kills
unraveling rounds on melee kill
orb = woven mail
last is up to you (threadling boost, melee energy on tangle hit, etc) but i’ve been using “strand gun kills with woven mail spawns tangles” for more tangles.
Gets 5 stacks of warmgod, proceeds to use super instead of actually using melees..... Datto our lord and savior.
Void Titan with Severance is great! Volatile and Invis on finishers is really fun for solo content
I've had this build for a while and it's got a lot more consistent with the buff to enclosure. Love it
This build is crazy on enemy dense environments. I tried it on Master GotD and it was a beast in the second encounter. There are so many benefits that it becomes unkillable and chainable off of one kill if anyone survives.
Datto: Hey Titans 🥰
Me, a Warlock who hasn't played in a two seasons: Hey bitch 🥰
Exactly the video I needed right now, getting hard to keep up with all the changes, Thanks!
Precious scars is hilarious with Tommy's Matchbook, the restoration completely counters the burning self-damage.
The hammer cooldown on top of the restoration and sunspot nerfs is just too harsh IMO
btw datto for severence (or anything that needs charged melee) you can use a uncharged if you have the right setup, those being having knockout, having woven mail, having a void oversheild, having roaring flames
I found Sentinel + Peregrine Greaves to be very convenient and consistent on the final boss of the new dungeon. You can one-shot the yellow bar scorn guys as they spawn, and have time to immediately capture the little taken totems just before the immune guys spawn. For them, you can punch them as they spawn to transfer the debuff and immediately jump away, leaving them no chance to return the debuff to you
Im happy that hammer stil returns to you at least. It doesnt feel like missing a shoulder charge which just destroys your gameplay loop.
I did a few runs of the T3 Blind Well and a Nightfall with my Loreley-Bonk titan, and my only gripe with the cool down ATM is missing a throw, then having to run over to grab the hammer, because the added 1.4 seconds actually killed me a couple times.
Ever since the starter-pack incident, Datto is off his rocker.
The irony between the gameplay and commentary at 1:52 is amazing 😂😂
a little late, but i've been enjoying wormgod with vexcalibur on a void titan, using controlled demo, offensive bulwark, and the echoes of exchange, instability, starvation, and cessation. the echo of exchange grants grenade energy on glaive melee kills, so you get to really go wild between devour and the giga overshield uptime on vexcalibur. controlled demo for healing and crowd control is cool, and pairs really well with the echo of instability on vexcal since you can pop a shot into a major or something and start whacking. everything around you will explode while you beat this thing into the dirt.
I dont play destiny anymore im sure ill come back to it at some point but i still like to watch your vids and stop by the streams every now and then to see what the games like these days and see whats good and such.
Imagine that Peregrine Greaves buff coming around when Datto did that Shoulder Charge Skolas challenge. Good times
Using your exotic slot to get restoration x1 on a solar weapon kill just sounds terrible tbh
I will say though, I've been using Precious with Agers on stasis and it feels really good.
"I feel like I need to take a shower if I see myself amplified while on sentinel"
I loved pairing precious scars with tommys matchbook last season, and im loving it more now. Keeps me alive even better so i never am in trouble while rattling the enemies in my dapper mafia drip
Is it better than Lorelei? I’m tempted to switch.
I've only done solo stuff atm so not sure if that healing burst is still there, or if thats also a party wide restoration spread. if it is then thats even better for group play
EDIT: According to the text it grants restoration to allies... so you basically can keep your whole team alive with scars now constantly
The transition between elementary school teach to just Datto was seamless
the hammer wait timer hurts me maybe they should change it lower to .8 or 1 second
Regarding 17:35, I actually just got done checking up on my (PvE) Titan builds today. They’re not all master-content or gm-level of crazy, but I don’t care because they’re fun. I’ll keep it short and sweet (unless folks ask for specifics)
Arc w/ Coldheart + Armamentarium
Solar w/ Tarrabah + PoBS
Void w/ Wastelander + NBP
Stasis w/ Other Half + Strongholds
Strand w/ Final Warning + Abeyant
Strand w/ Vexcalibur + Synthos
Solar w/ Polaris + Peregrines
Void w/ Wish-Ender + Ursa
Stasis w/ Wicked Implement + Lancecap
Severance enclosure finally getting its recognition, its always been incredible
THIS is the content i really enjoy from you. Bringing everyone back to planet earth and letting folks know its gonna be FINE
Hm. Does Severance Enclosure activate on Fletchet Storm? That sounds like it could be pretty cool if it does.
Severance Enclosure has actually been one of my favorites so I’m sad to see it gets a buff right when bonk gets nerfed
just use it with roaring flames, regular melees will count as powered when you have at least one stack of roaring flames and will trigger explosions
Severance Enclosure is really fun with Thunderclap, of all things. It even feels better than the Point Contact tbh
No damage bonus while in strand super with wormgods doesn't feel right
Bungie has been kicking us in the nuts since the beginning.
Glad to see I’m not the only one who misses half my hammers 😂
That first 5 seconds, you can just tell how excited he is to share this news. XD
I’m just real sad about hammer Titan and don’t know what to do now 😔
does Peregrine still not benefit from bonus damage melee vs Frozen targets? Not that’s needed, just double checking
Just for context, severance enclosure doesn't chain when doing a finisher due to a bug. This may make it seem a little weaker.
Try out Severance in a void build, all about finishers to become invisible, make volatile and just chain a lot of finishers and volatile explosions
Prescious Scars sounds like it's now a sword exotic.
bruh re: Glaives with Worm God Banner+5 stacks of Burning Fist+Close to Melee is BONKERS, looking forward to that video
