Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
    How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
    Never quit,
    Alex
    FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

    1. Never stifle a generous impulse whether its a gift or praise.
    2. You never take a night to sleep on an emotional response, but you do the ones taken in the moment
    3. Stress doesn't mean theres something wrong it means you are alive
    4. You can feel bad and do nothing about it
    5. Longterm > Everything
    6. The quality of your business is directly proportional to the quality of the people you hire which is directly proportional to your character and ability to cast a clear vision and how they fit in it
    7. Be fast to extend trust be even faster to take it back
    8. Don't require three strikes to get someone out of your life, if someone shows you their true colors trust them the first time
    9. Punishment only gets short term obedience, praise gets long term loyalty
    10. You cannot ask anyone for things you do not give them
    11. Be fiercely competitive with yourself, ignore everyone else
    12. Listen to feedback the first time, change your behavior now no matter how much it hurts.
    13. The best operators take action immediately on tasks. They are delegation machines not systems people.
    14. People will care about you if you act like you care about them by actually care about them.
    15. Do what you are most afraid of because its usually the thing you need to do most
    16. Networking only matters if you have nothing to offer
    17. You cannot be CEO of more than one thing. Kill your babies.

I feel everyone I have seen who has questioned whether relationships are worth it or not, when they meet someone who really makes them better, they always end up leaning towards the side of a partner is 100% worth it. And it makes sense. Having someone who you can let into your own mind, without having to worry about being judged and help you control your mind and thoughts is priceless. Having someone to celebrate the good times/hard work with and someone to hold during the bad. Human touch is very important. A hug, a fist bump, a high five, it makes a difference in building a relationship with a friend. Nevermind an intimate relationship with a partner. The right team can be unstoppable.

I think another important thing to note here is that Alex isn't dependent on his partner. He is self-sufficient. I think a lot of people mistake a partner for someone they can 100% depend on, which to some extent, you should be able to depend on them. But you have to be able to handle your own problems and issues. Alex has learned from his partner and because he was in a situation that was self-sufficient, the relationship has been that much more successful. Just my opinion, obviously would love to hear what others think on this topic.

Alex is just the epitome of a healthy dude. He is very flawed and we can tell, we can see his huge lust for power and in ways how that dominated his life in both positive and negative ways, when he says he was sort of a bully at times we can all totally see it, but the fact that he doesn't hide it, speaks about his growth from his failures and his wife, it is witnessing a live beast go through his beautification period and the guy is only in his 30s. Whoa

Punishment fades, reward stays. Great words. For 10 years straight my ex and I occasionally texted and it always started great but then I remembered why I dislike her. It kept going until I heard you talk about this, and now I can happily say that I blocked her for the first time ever. Whenever I think about the good times together I'll never forget about punishment v reward.

I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Donald Kayla
