When I was watching the electric butter knife I was laughing because the simple trick my family has always done is just run it under hot water for a few seconds.. problem solved.
I'm not saying it's stupid to keep butter outside of the fridge, but it depends on how much you use it obviously.. I don't use butter all that much so I keep it in the fridge.

you guys dont understand that. In the usa there is so much chemical preservation stabilizers and antibiotics in the butter, they dont need to put it in the fridge. Of course in every other country in this galaxy, the butter is in the fridge because it would be gross not to cool it.

Also, it is common knowledge to put it in the fridge, chefs will tell you this and anyone who knows anything about bacteria since butter is mostly fat, that means it goes bad faster however, in the fridge the bacteria is more dormant meaning, put your damn butter in the fridge!

@@LilithDemon As far as butter going bad, I guess that depends on how fast your butter goes down. If your house uses a lot of butter then it's probably not a problem. However if it doesn't get used a lot, yeah....it will probably go bad. 😅

Room temp butter is a game changer. If you use salted butter and the proper butter dish you can keep your butter on the countertop for up to 2 weeks

You don't actually need to keep your butter in the fridge. When it's real butter, you put it in a butter dish on the counter. That way it stays soft and will melt easier when spreading it on toast (plus just overall spreads easier). Butter doesn't spoil outside of the fridge :U I think what happened is that... Margarine spoils outside the fridge? And people started thinking butter does the same.
