at this time, there was a picture of Michael Jordan crying used in a ton of memes. so when he said "now he's got me.. i'll have to look at another crying meme for the next.." that's what he was referring to that had everyone cheering and laughing. what a great speech overall
You have to check out Shaq's tribute from this, too. They accomplished so much together and definitely butted heads while teammates, but over the years, they patched up their friendship and Kobe's death hit Shaq really hard

Kobe idolized MJ and both were so competitive that it bordered on insanity. there's being a top 1% competitor and then there's guys like them who are obsessed. Kobe's work ethic was legendary. there are so many stories from players who knew him about how much harder he worked than even other top players

Yes, Dave his thirteen year old daughter was on the helicopter with her dad and she loved basketball and was good just like her dad. I never saw this Tribute of Kobe via Michael Jordan before but that was beautiful and sad at the same time! 😭😭
Kobe and Michael are both unicorns. Almost the exact same height, almost exact same skill set, same killer instinct on the court, same drive to become the best possible player they could be. They dealt with the same frustrations behind the scenes with teammates. The struggle to motivate teammates who aren't trying nearly as hard as they should be (in their eyes), so they can reach their professional goals.
They understood each other more than any other people they'd ever met.
It's no wonder that Kobe's death hit Michael so hard.

I lost my brother in 2012 and after that, I didn't really care too much when celebrities died. When Kobe died it felt like I actually lost someone I knew personally though. He was that much of an icon.

It's weird how the untimely death of some celebrities is sad but not really personal even to a fan, while others hit you as something having gone wrong with the whole world. Robin Williams was like that, and Kobe Bryant hit that note too.

I'm a member at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club with Jordan and they hate him every time he comes to play. It's a walking course but he says he's handicapped so he plays with a golf cart. He usually runs up a 7000-15000 tab at the club house and tips usually 2-3% for taking up 15 staff members for a day

A big thing is alot of NBA players idolized Jordan, obviously, and the photo you talked about Jordan giving Kobe advice was in the middle of a game. Seems ridiculous lol help your opponent, but I think that shows how much Jordan respected Kobe.

People know there were other people in the helicopter. That doesn’t take away from that fact, the fact was this is a famous player and his daughter that were killed. Every family does things differently in laying their family to rest. Of course this was this way because of the type of player he was and a place for the fans to watch to be apart of his passing and tribute. The other that also died didn’t need to be mentioned here or brought to the forefront because this was not the way their family wanted them laid to rest. It would make so sense because no one knows who they are. It might sound mean but people don’t just show up at funerals of people they don’t know and mentioned them to people they don’t know. No one is ignoring them, but this isn’t about them, it’s about Kobe. Just like at the other funerals or memorials it’s not about Kobe, it’s about them. No one forgot them, they were talked about and mentioned, just like if we hear a story about a killing, or crash and someone died. You listen, your heart breaks you may say a prayer for the family, then move on. You don’t know the person or family, it’s the same here. The difference is, one was a celebrity, and his daughter, the others were friends of the family, that’s the only reason you know who they are.
And lets not also forget about that rape charge he was able to walk away from because he was Kobe Bryant.

I don't get it. This is what happened...a FATHER and MOTHER looked outside, saw thick fog and the decided to put their CHILD on to a DEATH TRAP, just to avoid L.A. traffic. Parents are just as capable of seeing fog as pilots are. Now, the woman who should have her remaining children taken from her, gets more millions from the chopper company because THEY knew flying out n fog was dangerous...who else knew that??? The guy puts a ball in a hoop so who cares about his off the charts NEGLECT. The Bryants are the ones who had the ultimate responsibility to protect their children...their responsibility if far beyond the responsibility of the chopper business.
