These are the types of PCs I'm very excited for! For the last few years, laptops were either gaming devices or thin and light ultraportables. While there have been a couple devices that aimed to be both and plenty of super light (relatively speaking) laptops with high end internals, they all ended up being VERY expensive. This is a new breed though. Very reasonably priced, yet actually equipped with a formidable GPU and a great, high refresh rate display. If this device keeps thermals in check, I think it'll be on the top of my list. It seems like a great, do-it-all device. I feel like I sound like a sponsored comment, which is funny. This type of laptop really does have me excited though, it just seems like exactly what I've been waiting for over the last few years in a package I can afford!
yah, idk why there arent more in betweens. like really, in the day to day do you really care if something is 1/2 a pound heavier? and a few milimeters thicker? when its in a bag with other stuff you really cant tell the difference all that much, and when its out its either on a table or on your lap, not balancing on a single finger. the only thing I think Ultrabooks actually have that matter is better battery life. But for me at least, high battery life light work is for phones and tablets.
Indeed. This laptop falls in the sweet spot for content creation and light casual gaming too. Since this is a new breed of laptops, there are some areas where it falls short of expectations, especially in terms of upgrading. For example, the RAM module is soldered into the motherboard and can't be upgraded. However, since this is a relatively newer category of laptops, it's very understandable and I am sure that such laptops will evolve beautifully in the coming years.
Im looking for a new laptop exactly like these, lightweight laptop with a formidable gaming performance. No way im buying a laptop with iresxe or radeon graphics while paying more……….

Yes kind of a laptop I want to buy. Thin and light, power packed with processor, ram and GPU and looks relatively professional. Also great fits my use case perfectly. I work remotely as a founder office consultant (so lot of excel, AI, power point and video conferencing), like casually digging information on web and media apps, play games casually (but heavier ones like FIFA, GTA 5 and fps shooting games.), and an avid video editor (having a GPU helps massively here). Initially I was thinking of getting 2 separate devices, like mac for work plus content creation and a handheld gaming device for games. This approach would’ve been expensive. This laptop solves my problems to a great extent.
Great review I am thinking on this one or just the Vivobook Pro 14 or 15 vs the 14x or 15x. What do you think.?. regular computer slight you tube or pic editing possibly.. what do you think?
Good morning. Probably stupid question but... I want to change my laptop next month - I've save some money and its gonna be between Zenbook s13 and Vivobook14X. I would prefer first one which looks great, but I also want it for gaming like Far Cry or Cyberpunk. Will s13 be good enough?
OLED 90Hz, 1080P (more will be better but I dont need more) and at least a 3060/6600M. Add a decent cooling system, and a good keyboard and you got a really good laptop.
The thermals seem pretty decent! You do really have to raise the back a little bit, because the vivobook 14x doesnt have the same type of hinges like on the zephyrus g14. If you dont do that it throttles really fast because the fans are blocked. I have the version with 5900hx and when running processor 100% it seems to stabilize around 92/93celsius and 3600 mhz. For a laptop this small I think thats pretty good.
