      That’s awesome! Though they are quite similar, I think the L is a better trail bike and the Rally is more of a small capacity Adventure bike. That said, I’ve managed to get my Rally round a lot of the Peak District and had a run up Bomber Lane in Wales at the weekend. Will look up your trail rides! 👍

    I have a 300 rally on order and wanna make and all-rounder adventure bike build
    Looking foward to see what fits on the rally...
    It seems like this bike really needs a suspension and an exhaust to shine...

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 роки тому +1

      Aye, I’d seen that, but they don’t really talk about the Rally. I guess it’s pretty similar, but not the same as few suspension makers are willing to confirm their L unit is fine for the Rally. It is changing every day though, and I spoke to several over the last few weeks. I have my list of call backs on Monday, so should have the latest info from all and I’ll share that Monday evening.

    This was painful to watch. Not because you were slow. but because you don't seem to enjoy this type of riding ,you seem very scared.Maybe afraid to damage the bike.That can get you hurt.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Yes scared (maybe not scared, but perhaps fear of falling, unless that’s the same thing) no to not enjoying it. I did enjoy it, quite a lot really, which is why I’m not sure about the scared thing. I know I need to go faster to make it easier, and that will come in time. It’s a new bike, a new trail, and other than a couple of other lighter trails, this is the first time I’ve done anything like this so bear with me! I’ll be getting in more practice over the coming months so I hope it gets less painful to watch. Thanks for persevering!

    No offense intended. The suspension is fine for your level of experience. You just need a little more speed. Don't waste your money, spend it on lots of petrol and get loads of time on under your belt.

    Looks like a lovely day out over some lovely ground, and a lovely bike. I don't know how experienced you are off road, but none of this looked particularly challenging, especially for the CRF300, you'll find your suspension will work better if you stand up more, and let the bike move around under you. Also I would say you need to be going a bit faster over some of the trickier bits, it's a lot easier to use momentum to get over small obstacles, than to balance at slow speed, and then need to use a handful of throttle. (Please don't take this as criticism, just a couple of friendly observations)

    Is it possible to mount the speedo onto the handlebars and bring the Nav screen down for better visibility in technical stuff without standing?

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 роки тому +1

      Not easily, if anything moving the Nav down would be easier. I just need to get better and gain more confidence to stand on the technical bits. Or get an L. 😉. Keeping the front suspension loaded up seems to make it easier but I can only do this standing.

      You were worried?! 🤣 As you may expect, I cut the couple of times I dropped the bike, and where I got stuck on an uphill step. Not because they make me look unskilled (I am unskilled, no doubt about that!) but because of the heavy breathing that accompanies fear. The learning continues!

      @@simon7123 the T7 is a brilliant bike. If I didn’t have a GS, (and the CRF didn’t exist) that would be top of the list. The only slight thing is that I wish they could have found 20kg of weight saving somewhere. Everything else about it was great, though CMC’s demo bike could have done with heated grips. There was ice beside the road when I did my test ride. The engine is a peach and the gearing spot on. The only slight reaction was when I priced it up, picking all the toys from the extras list (including Akra and Ohlins) and then saw the end price, and started scaling back to what I really needed….

      That sucks. May they get some more soon. Mine’s about to have a break for a few weeks. There’s no Rally specific fork upgrades available, so it seems that if I want a Rally specific fork, then they need a Rally fork to play with. Mine will be collected on Monday and returned later in May. By the time you get your Rally the parts and upgrades market should have sorted itself out. Good luck!

      You will not be disappointed 😉. The problem has been finding some that is specifically designed for the Rally. It’s almost the same as the L, but carrying an extra 10kg of bike weight plus luggage. I’ve found some but it’s not exactly off the shelf. Sometimes you have to help them make and fill the shelf!
