Thank you dear dear Rosie girl!! I saw your comment as a notification last night. You touched my heart with your cheering for me. You are a wonderful cheerleader and I appreciate you so much! xoxo Now.. what can I do as a thank you to everyone? Any ideas?
Thanks Gerri. I thought about it when I took that long break to research it. I really did. We'll see what happens with it. I hope I'm not sorry for selling it. So glad you are watching. Thank you!!
Hi sherry! I am a subscriber for about 3 months. I love how you take time to explain the jewelery! I have learned some things about the jewelery from you! I'll e in Canada and enjoy your show very much .
Hello Amelia! I'm so happy to meet you. My grandmother's name was Amelia. It's a beautiful name. She was my best friend. I'm very honored to have you as a subscriber. And thank you very much for letting me know that you are watching. You've made my day!
Opal is my birthstone, and I have researched and found so many different kinds. But I've never seen or heard of pink opal. I enjoy finding new varieties of stones. That is a beautiful necklace! The wooden and MOP/"abalone" bracelet looks like mid century, probably 1960s. Such a fun, mod look to that one!
I had common opals called Peruvian opals that came in blue pink and pale green. I had never seen opals without a lot of flash. Maybe look up Peruvian opals and see if that might fit what you have.
Hello Misty. Nice to see you. Look up Pink Opal on eBay and you'll see the beads. They are so gorgeous!! It was my first time hearing of them too. Do you have the Gem App called Rock Identifier? If not, you'll want to get it asap. It is free but is worth paying for too. When it says to pay, just click "cancel" at the top right of the screen and you'll be able to use the app with no cost. I hope that helps. Its a great App.
What have you decided to do about the amazing rubies ? Have they sold!? ❤❤❤❤❤ please get them appraised by a knowledgeable company or person . ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤we want you to have a very good outcome, you might be surprised at how much you are loved!
@@SusanMoody-lc9dz Oh my gosh Susan!! I can't tell you how much this message means to me. I must be loved!! I've had many people tell me to get them appraised. So I did take them to one jeweler. But like another viewer said, that jeweler may have said "Start at $1000" because they wanted to buy them from me. So now I'm not sure. I'll take them to a couple of other jewelers and then we'll see. Thank you so much! I needed this love today for sure. xoxo
Thank you Karen. I probably is. Moonstone is also in that family too, right? When the stone is small like that, I find it hard to tell if its Labradorite or Moonstone. Very pretty though, right? So happy to know you are watching. Thanks again.
I did? YAY!!! Woo hooo!! Yippee!! I have been wracking my brain trying to think of a way to thank everyone. ?? Giveaways are fun but only one or a few people get a prize. I wish there was a way to thank all of you.
Hello Bernitalto. Thanks so much for watching and for your excellent question! I have a video titled, "How to clean vintage jewelry" where I go in to how I clean jewelry. Fortunately the very old necklace that you are referring to has a lot of things going for it as far as cleaning goes. It is on a chain, the metal is all gold or gold filled, and there is no glue to worry about. So, I was able to soak the piece, work on it with by moving dental floss through the beads, and dry it in a fan for 2 days. lol. It was a lot of work but I think it's worth it. If you are interested, I also have a Facebook group called Blessed Baubles where you can ask jewelry questions there as well, or post more questions about jewelry. But asking them here is just fine too. Thanks so much!
Ok. Thank you very much for that. I don't think it's platinum because platinum would be solid looking like silver. Right? I think the PL is for plating. But I do think its mean of them to put the letter PL and make us thinks its Platinum. LOL I researched my heart out and hope I came up with the right conclusion. Sometimes its really tough. So, I share all that I have found out and let the chips (or rubies) fall where they may.
That's what I thought the minute I saw it. However, it does not have any of the characteristics of coral. If you hear me in the video, I even say, "it looks more like a gemstone". Then I test it with Miss Prissy, do all that research, and it is Pink Opal. So gorgeous! Who knew, right? Thanks France.
Hi Sherri! I think you should get the ruby bracelet checked out before you decide what to do with it. Also, every time I heard your cat start his purry engine, I think it's my cat I can hear! Especially when I'm wearing my earphones. My hubby looks at me like I'm going mad, because I start looking around for the cat! 🤣
Hi Samantha. Thank you so much for encouraging me to do that. I did finally take it to a jewelry today. I talk about it in my recent video, "Truly Vintage Jewelry". That's so funny about the cat noises. Hehe. I'm trying to get them to be less interrupting though.
Hi, first time watching and loved it BTW. The ruby bracelet should be checked by a jeweler, because if those are real rubies well, wow, wow wow! In the 80's rubies were becoming scarce. The metal could be Platinum and I don't know how you would test for that. Not sure at all if platinum but if I'm right about the stones you could be talking thousands. The size of the stones just doesn't fit the sym sizes out there at any point of which they started or now. Best of luck with the bracelet. Would love to know what you find out. Will be watching!
Hi Maria, I tested the metal with gold testing and platinum. It is not platinum. Bummer. The rubies are most likely lab created but still very beautiful!! I do agree that they are giant!! And hopefully you heard all of my research info during the video. I spent quite a lot of time researching. I was so inspired by my Ruby score that I bought a lot of real rubies and will be sharing that in the weeks to come. Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it.
Hi there, new subscriber!! Just want to say, love your videos and all the goodies you find, but please please please... Do more research before pricing your treasures. If unsure about anything, take it to a jeweler for a free evaluation!
Thank you Sonia. I appreciate your very kind heart. Which pieces are you referring to? The Ruby bracelet? If so, I did take it to a jeweler and wow!! I talk about it on my next video, "Truly Vintage Jewelry". I hope you watch it.
Hi Cheri 22:26 looks like a sun catcher kind of thing it links like it was made for protection hence the black stone it’s probably obsidian. I love the lapis and gold bracelet nice find. Time stamp 43:29 I lhave the ruby bracelet omg what a beauty time stamp 56:35. Btw i love the black light it can reveal a lot. Did you know there is certain type of pearl that glow red and synthetic pearls glow bright
Oh, ok Carol. Thanks so much for your help with that. Obsidian. I always forget about that stone. lol. I agree... the Lapis bracelet is precious! And the rubies! Even lab created, they are STUNNING!! I think it sold the minute it was shown! lol. Love having you here Carol. I pray your Mum is doing well.
Hi Cheri, I have been trying free versions of a couple of different apps to test stones and I am considering subscribing to one and I don't know which one to go with. Is there one that you might recommend that you find is consistant with it's results? Thank you😊
Please be fair to yourself and take that ruby bracelet to a reputable jeweller (or more) and have the metal tested and the total carat weight determined.
Ok Dawne. After so many comments on it, I just might do that. But if you look up the listings that I name in the video, you'll see them there. I'll see what I can do with it tomorrow. Thank you very much.
I was sitting next to a waiting room today when the rubies appeared in your video. I had my earplugs in but I gasped out loud! I looked up and got some eyes and eyebrows looking at me. Do keep in mind that platinum can sometimes be slightly magnetic if it is mixed with Cobalt if I'm not wrong. I mean regarding the ruby bracelet.
