I’m getting it! Thank you so much!
Very nice. It's a fairly simple lick, but your dynamic really make the lick groove.
Your lessons are great and your drumming is smooth as glass. Thanks for posting.
I learn way faster whenever I take your lessons. You're really a talented teacher/player. Thanks!
Mr. Palmer. Your lessons and execution are excellent. And, your drums sound fantastic. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Nice.
Thanks.
I was only just showing my wife that sticking.
Then this showed up top of my feed. 🤔
So that’s great.
I’m going to get stuck into that this week.
Wish I had seen this sooner great lesson Thanks for the video!
Great Exercises... Dave Weckl’s “The Next Step” video goes through this concept in the Chapter “Soloing”. Continue to pass the torch …🥁👍🏻
Thank you Mr. Palmer!
Your lessons are my favorite here on UA-cam. beautiful playing, technique, drums... everything!
Love your feel snd style . Flowing easily
always nice watching your vids
I've watched so many drum instructional videos, many simply demonstrating licks but this series teaches techniques to assist your development which allows YOUR creativity to come forth to be the best drummer and musician you can be. Great. I'll be working on this for some time. To those who are not familiar with Louie, I suggest checking out his other videos playing with other musicians. His Sabian video playing to a Holdsworth tune is amazing.
Thanks, James. Check out playbetterdrums.com which is a full membership site that has over 200 video lessons and PDFs plus world-class play-alongs.
Incredibly useful and well taught. Killing it!

I would love a video on foot technique :) great lesson
you're awesome! wish you had a foot cam.... :)
I like the tuning of the drums. Anyone know what snare that is? Stock with the kit?? Sounds CRISP
Nice lesson! Snare snaresound, is that a Ludwig supraphonic?
this is a guy who totally absorbs drums...who do you think his main influence was? one cat comes to my mind. if Louie was a bodybuilder he was be shredded...guy who LOVES the gym and doing 20 exercises per body part...mad respect for these types of personalities
Congratulation, great lesson, wordefoul snare sound, is it a gretsch usa custom COB? thanks
Hi ! What's the brand/model of this snare drum ? It sounds brilliant !!!
Weckl used to do this a lot
Hi Louie, I hardly ever comment on youtube videos but just wanted to say great playing! Would there be any chance of doing a lesson on the 16th vocab you used in conjunction with the hand+foot combos? Such as combining rudiments, rolls and sticking patterns? There are hardly any books out there on this topic and I'd love to hear you approach to combining these! Cheers
+MusicProductionJS Thanks for the comment! Lots of that stuff is on my teaching site (playbetterdrums.com) but I might put some more vids up on the subjects you mentioned. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for replying! That would be great there are very few materials out there about combining different roll patterns / stickings etc. Just checked out the site, have you considered putting up downloadable video lessons similar to the ones on youtube for a set price as well as a monthly fee you offer? I like your teaching style and would happily purchase separate video lessons but unfortunately can't afford a monthly subscription. Thanks again.
HEy Louie Great series of videos , Just a quick question what Model gretsch are you playing in this Video??
Oscar A. Garcia USA Custom!
Very good! Which Gretsch model is this?
LRK. There ya go.
You're a fucking beast
Cool stuff! I really like the part where you split the bar in half. Just one question: If you see it as a one bar fill, wouldn't it be written in 32nd notes? If you see it as 16th notes it would be a two bar fill: one bar groups of 3 and one bar "other 16th note vocab"...depends on whether you hear the click as quarter or eight notes...
Gregor Zenns I can see why you would think that, but his click is 8th notes with the backbeat on 2 and 4. The click is not a quarter note with the backbeat on 3.
Yeah, but then the fill would be written as 32nd notes...
Ahh, I don't know why I even wrote that reply - it just reinforced your initial comment, haha!
You're right, it would be one bar of 32nd notes with the 8th note click he's using.
Очень вкусная игра!
Don't you put the "figures" in a transcribed sheet to download? would be easier to understand
MUY BIEN PERO POCO UTIL PUES ES MUY DIFICIL SABER ESACTAMENTE DONDE PONES EL TIEMPO 1. ES PRECISO TRANSCRIPCION.
....it`s 3 over 4, right ?
during entire video can we se only RLKLRK ?
sorry 0:00 - 9:45
His snare head looks ridiculous..
Damn, I thought I had talent...Oh, well.
