Stihl designed their saw bars so the roller nose oils with the chain oil. When you sharpen the hooks you should use a file and touch up the drive link so it keeps the groove in the bar cleaned out
I have a knock off as well, Bill. I placed a bit of foam inside of the filter cut to shape with oil through the foam. You can use a screw driver to open the plastic filter housing and when you put the foam in just click them back together again. A good idea also is to put a small rubber O ring over the bolt and push it down to the filter so as to seal anything from going into the carby through the gap. The Stihl saws bar sprocket is oiled by the bar oil off the chain, Stihl have made them that way and very easy to maintain
