De indo zei: “Ketjap” geen ketchup
Ik wist niet wat ketjap was. Ik dacht dat hij gewoon ketchup zei! Goed dat je ons op de hoogte hebt gebracht.
De woorden ‘ketjap’ en ‘ketchup’ hebben hoogstwaarschijnlijk wel een soortgelijke etymologie. Dus logisch dat men ze door elkaar haalt. :)
Bovendien is (Nederlands-)Indisch eten, het enige van gastronomische waarde in de Nederlandse (voedsel)cultuur. Hollands eten voor oorlogse smaak (pragmatische smakeloosheid) en Chin.Ind.Rest voor iets op smaak. (Niet te vergeten dat de immigranten de gastronomie in Nederland ontzettend verrijken)
Maar dan toch, na ca. 350 jaar kolonisatie houdt de ‘gemiddelde Nederlander’ het nog steeds bij een boterham met een plak opgedroogde koeiensap met een glas koeiensap.

@@iphonepokemon no need for being demeaning and condescending on discussion whether it’s kecap/ketjap or ketchup 😅. Every country have been influenced by others, one way or the other. In Indonesia they have known hagelslag as far back as in 1970s because of the Dutch as well, although they call them ‘muisjes’ instead. They also have their own version of kroket or frikandel, not even close to the Dutch ones at all.

Lived in Enschede for 4 years and even as a brown guy, i found Dutch best friends who introduced me to their family and treat me like one. I feel lucky. Going back there in 2024, so I am stoked!
Ik ontbijt wel iedere morgen. Nadat ik het brood voor mijn dochters gesmeerd hebt. Meestal gaat er iets van hagelslag, pindakaas of vleeswaren op het brood.
Daarbij ook een glaasje melk of water. Op zondag ontbijten wij altijd met elkaar aan tafel, Mijn man bakt dan croissantjes en kaiserbroodjes af. Vaak bakt hij dan ook een eitje voor op het broodje voor ons allemaal. (5 of 6 personen) op de croissantjes smeren wij aardbeienjam of doen er een plakje kaas op.
Als kind had ik altijd veel Brinta, vooral in de winter, later was het gewwon een paar broodjes, met kaas of hagelslag. Introduceerde hagelsag voor mijn kinderen hier in Australie voor ontbijt - they loved it

I love the Dutch.
I visited Amsterdam back in the day and stayed with a friend that lived near the centre. We had Nutella, butter (the best butter I have ever had)...maybe an egg, fresh bread from the bakery, and strong coffee. I enjoyed my time in Amsterdam a lot. I enjoyed riding my bike to the outside market to get cheese, pasta, for lunch or an evening meal🌺

Voorheen toen ik veel sportte brinta/havermout met fruit, ook in de winter. Anders plantaardige yoghurt met muesli en fruit. Cafeïne vrije koffie omdat ik de smaak van koffie lekker vind, maar de cafeïne de vitamines van het fruit afbreekt, halfuurtje daarna mijn echte koffie. Op dagen dat ik mijn kindje weg breng pak ik snel een broodje voor in de auto en soms op vrije dagen lekker allerlei beleg op tafel en warme broodjes uit de oven.

Ik, nederlander in Paraguay, heb altijd twee gekookte eieren voor ontbijt, dan duits bruin brood met kaas en rauwe ham, of leverpastij, -als dat er is-, en soms ook yoghurt met havervlokken.

I see this channel is new. Otherwise I think I would have seen it before now. This is a great idea and I'm sure I will be watching more of these videos. I think I would prefer it without the English subtitles. But I like that the Dutch subtitles are larger and that makes it easier for me to follow those and not be distracted by the English subtitles. I'll be sure to tell my Dutch tutor about this channel.

Doordeweeks ontbijt ik met havermoutpap of met boterhammen en altijd met een stuk fruit en een kop thee erbij. In het weekend lekker een gekookt eitje, croissantje, stukje stokbrood en vers geperste sinaasappelsap. Doordeweeks eet ik om half elf altijd nog een klein bakje yoghurt met een eetlepel jam of honing, maar in het weekend sla ik dat over, dan ontbijt ik al zo laat of nog later.
Bedankt voor het filmpje! Ik heb toast met jam en koffie als ontbijt gehad. Ik hou ook van pannenkoeken, hagelslag, en stroopwafels maar die zijn niet zo makkelijk te vinden in amerika. Dus alleen af en toe.
Het is bizar dat een Nederlander moeite heeft een ontbijt samen te stellen. Bij ons thuis koffie thee melk. Toast div kaas div beleg. Brood kadetjes puntjes krentenbollen ontbijtkoek rogge brood. Margarine roomboter. Pindakaas jam chocopasta gekookt of gebakken eieren of omelet stroop.

Ik woon nou in Brazilië 🇧🇷 maar mijn ontbijt is nog steeds vrij Nederlands🇳🇱.
Twee sneetjes volkorenbrood met worst of ham/kaas of een ei en jam en een appel.
Met melk en koffie toe.
Ik mis vooral de Nederlandse soorten brood en kaas hier in Brazilië.
Ik sla ontbijt nooit over, desnoods langs de weg een tosti, die zijn hier erg lekker.
Ze zijn erg lekker omdat ze er veel ham en kaas op doen eventueel met wat plakjes tomaat. Ze gebruiken altijd witte puntjes. Dat komt omdat snackbars hier vaak kleine bakkerijen zijn die hun eigen (witte-) brood bakken.
Interesting they don't have much of a breakfast culture. If you go to Japan, proper traditional breakfast is a big deal

She has an accent from Twente, but that pronunciation of "jam" is standard in Dutch. :)

A Dutch sandwich, broodje or boterham, is an open-faced sandwich usually with cheese, ham or sprinkles.
As an indo I could eat nasi with veggies in the morning or roti....soms een broodje kaas met thee of koffie.....of pancake...selfmade chinese food also but it will be brunch...half breakfast time half lunch time. Ik ben geen dutch food eater....
Ik ontbijt een broodje kaas en een kopje thee, elke dag zonder uitzonderingen. Maar als ik in Nederland ben, ontbijt ik altijd een brodje met hagelslag :)
Ik vind het broodje kaas met een kop koffie altijd een erg lekkere combinatie. Veel lekkerder dan met thee.

@@toasterine8147 Je hebt niet eens perse een koffiezetapparaat nodig hoor. Ik kende iemand die deed het thuis nog steeds gewoon met een fluitketel en een losse filter boven een kan. Al denk ik wel dat koffie met een goed apparaat lekkerder is.

Koffie met melk, Wienerbrood (the Yanks call them Danishes for some reason), oder croissantjes: dat is mijn ontbijt als ik op vakantie ben in Nederland. If the weather is cold, sometimes, I add a small bowl of erwtensoep.
I like to eat oats with fruits or Greek yoghurt with fruits, healthy delicious and zero effort, you are welcome :)

Vandaag was mijn ontbijt 2 pizza's heerlijk jongen 😆.
S'ochtends eet ik brood met jam en boter of een kom weetabix met melk,hazelnoten en rozijnen.Soms eet ik gewoon niks gewoon en beukje en een kopje thee dan zit ik goed tot de middag.
Watter brood eet julle vir ontbyt? Suurdeeg brood, of bruinbrood ?
Ik werk in Nederland en ik zie dat voor hen droge broodjes met echt dun kaas dat genoeg ist. Boter op broodjes dat denk ik te duur is, nooit heb ik gezien tomaten of andere soorten van groenten, oh ja soms fruit bijvoorbeeld bananen. Ook ze gaan naar cantine voor frikadellen. Ze maken zelf niet lekkere boterhammen.
Nederlanders eten meestal geen boter op brood omdat ze dat vaak niet gezond vinden, niet omdat het duur is want dat is het niet, het is meestal halvarine. En inderdaad dun broodbeleg, meestal ook omdat we dat zo van onze ouders hebben geleerd omdat een dikke laag op brood niet gezond is. Er wordt vaak gezegd dat je van brood niet dik wordt maar wel van wat je er op doet.
Veel mensen vinden boter ook helemaal niet lekker, inclusief ikzelf. Ik gebruik het alleen onder hagelslag zodat het er niet afvalt. Onder kaas of vleeswaren vind ik het echt smerig. Groenten zijn hier geen ontbijtproducten. De meeste mensen eten alleen groente bij het avondeten.
Dat dunne beleg stamt van het calvinisme (luxe = overbodig, slecht zelfs; zuinig, bescheiden = goed) en uit de oorlog (hongerwinter) toen er weinig te eten was. Mijn grootouders hadden 'afklopsuiker' op brood: dan besmeerden ze hun brood heel licht met boter, suiker erop, en dan afkloppen. Dat was gewoon echt omdat ze weinig (geld) hadden. Dat zuinige zit nog steeds in de geest van veel Nederlanders.

Ik moet er van kokhalzen al vanaf dat ik heel klein ben.

Een croissantje is alleen maar lucht. Dus gewoon 2 bruine boterhammen met jam of hazelnootpasta en mjn zoon hagelslag en hazelnootpasta en daarbij een glas melk. Mijn vader at alleen maar havermoutpap met suiker. Om eieren te bakken en zo heb ik geen tijd. Rond een uur of tien in de ochtend eet ik één stuk fruit. Een banaan dus, zojuist.

Ik houd van een "English" breakfast,brood met hagelslag doet het niet meer voor my,al meer als 65 jaar in ZA Maar,heb steeds hagelslag en crocetten in huis hoor !
Ik ben verbaasd dat niemand pap voor ontbijt eet. Zelf eet ik namelijk altijd pap of cornflakes met fruit

Nederlands heeft een grammaticale structuur die vergelijkbaar is met het Engels, maar verschilt van de Duitse grammatica, letters en woordenschat en spelling zijn vergelijkbaar met Duits.Begrijpen zowel Duitsers als Nederlanders elkaar?
